- Zuma Athena Race 70cc BBK install : Day One building the motor
I went into this with a better idea of what I am going to do. I watched a few videos including one with a Zuma JOG motor off of RollingWrench
• Yamaha Zuma 50f / C3 b...
I also did some research with ScooterTunning.Ca and 49ccScoot forums. Great Help. Watch my adventure of a new 2T novice take apart scooter and try to make it faster.

The multiple gaskets/shims are so that you can adjust cylinder height to get proper squish, transfer port, and exhaust port durations and measurements . To get proper operation and maximum efficiency from these kits, you cannot just bolt and and go.
Always put a shop rag in the crankcase cavity so the wrist pin or anything doesn't fall into the crankcase.
Today I took a carb off and dropped a nut into the motor. Amen to magnets ! I will do that from now on
good job
Can't wait to hear that thing rip fam
Get ready !
hey anyone know if this 2 stroke engine just share crank oil with the transmission oil if anyone can let me know i would appreciate thanks..
Did you have to change the carb or do anything different with the carb like different jets since it would need more fuel for the 70cc?
How did you install the reed valves mine have cracks on the sides and it makes it run bad please awnser i have no idea what to do
Great video.
Thanks :)
👍
What size jets did you used for it
The o ring gasket are for Athena evolution 70cc
Good job 2 strokes are nice and easy less parts just do a proper break in for the piston and sleeve so you don’t burn it up.
I plan to :) my first instinct is to rip rip and run! Thanks - two strokes are so easy
What size of metal shim did you use
Can you send me the link to this kit
Are you using the stock crank?
Regards to the Gclips...was there a particular way they needed to be installed?
kinda
how many gaskets used between block and bore? also is athena race better than polini?
I only put the green one, really should never put two gaskets in any area.
No No , Get or make a degree wheel , bolt it to the end of the crankshaft and turn clockwise noting the degrees open the exhaust port is a turn more for the transfers [inlet] same deal . Its not hard but you need to know durations or the degrees for both ports opened which change with more or less base gaskets or as you said shims ,spacers were included . Also B.D.C of the pistol should be level enough to the bottom ports opening . Not enough information by the way from dealers and me so see 90GTVert channel .lol
Just ordered this kit for my 09 Zuma! Just curious if you used the stock BPR7HS spark plug or if you used a different size?
Stock one for now and runs well with it. Probably could use a hotter plug.
Any updates? how do you like it
Do you want to sell it to stroke right I'm looking for a Zoom a two-stroke I want a two-stroke one
Strange they put the o-ring head gasket in there with no groove in the head...
Hey mate. Your cylindeer the sport version.. ATHENA racing has double exhaust intake :) nice viddo
I was misinformed and thanks :)
I got quest can you change out timing belt to timing chain? Or new engine 125 cc no belt drive only chain?
You
Mean the CVT belt in the transmission ?
@@SmallEngineVelocity yes
No, since the belt needs to slide up and down the drive face to change gear ratio. I’m sure there is some creative way to do it but far as I know the answer is no.
@@SmallEngineVelocity Thanks
Did you change the carburator? Or kept the original?
Wondering the same
when you get that much gaskets , the piston must be a sucker of a piston
single exhaust port, Athena sport, dual exhaust port Athena racing / evo
What’s the best 70cc kit that has the carb intake on the cylinder itself?
Poling corsa
No engine has a direct carb set up it’s always through a reed
@@thewonderfulwizardofcodsaq3472 any vertical it’s bolted to the cylinder. Horizontal is case reed.
@@jamiebouchard9862 all of my verticals have case reeds
@@thewonderfulwizardofcodsaq3472 not sure I understand then. Case reed has direct port into the case, such as the horizontal. My minarelli vertical has the flat reed bolted directly onto the cylinder. Both of em. 🤷♂️
Sweeeet!!!
Thanks : we both released BBK videos today lol

If only doing a bb GET was as simple
Right? I was expecting it to be complicated and a ton of measuring. Take off and put on (correctly)
More RAUCOUS please
e denuccio many projects on the table - there will always be more Ruckus videos
At first you put the piston the other side
This is Athena 70cc sport not racing
Yea my bad :)
Find me one man let me know you got my email right there I'm looking for a good cheap two cycle scooter I don't care what kind it
