Exactly.
Thank you for including images of stunning mature women. They are inspiring!
Though some of them are NOT FRENCH, still very good examples of elegance and good taste. 👏
I agree/disagree. I live in France and dressing like this whilst chic can also be a little boring and blend into the crowd. I love classic pieces but try to add interest in my accessories. For ie instead of a stupidly expensive Hermes handbag I have one from a local designer that has been hand embroidered. Everyone always comments on it! Remember that getting dressed is fun and shows a bit who you are as well so do add elements that you love (be it bright colours, patterns or items of personal significance)
I loved your comment! You're absolutely right, fashion is a form of personal expression and doesn't have to be monotonous. Adding unique accessories, like your hand-embroidered bag from a local designer, is a fantastic way to bring originality to your look. Classic pieces are the perfect canvas for you to play with elements that reflect your personality. Fashion is, above all, a way to show the world who you are. Keep it up! ✨
This! This mindset = true elegance and personal style. People are so afraid to be authentic and create their own style! We cannot all be bazillionaires, but we can all look classy, sophisticated, elegant.
Buttons on an item is what I have noticed recently..such an easy update to add a touch of elegance
I make my own clothes, jewelry, and accessories . I have since the age of 9 .Never any logo or labels but my own. I receive compliments on my style and designs .I know I am on the right path away from the cookie cutter outlook.
Bravo! 👏
@elizabethcumberbatch227: that’s a talent you have my dear. Not everyone can do what you can do or create. People depend on what others create to clothe and accessorise. Some go too far & depend on the fashions of the day which doesn’t last long. It’s being able to recycle things so you can wear them over and over again that also matters. Keep doing what you are doing & please pass on your talents and ideas to others so it benefits more than just yourself. That’s what will be commendable.
Not to be a rain on your parade, today's Paris is not what it used to be
Like any large City there differing areas.
Why do you say this? Please give examples. I’m sure everyone would like to know. Thank you !
It depends where in Paris you go. And please don’t forget that France and Paris are the most visited county and city in the world. So you are more likely to run into tourists than Parisians. We tend to stick to our inner hidden areas. So you probably have us confused with tourists or expats.
Certain areas of Paris would be unrecognizable to the starty- eyed ignoramus.
Paris is not the whole of France. She’s speaking to France the country, not Paris the city. Her analysis is spot on for the majority of France fashion in women over 50 years old
Lovely video! 🇫🇷 Also, French women wear fragrance every day, whether they go out to work, to the restaurant, or simply stay home. 😊 It remains subtle and acts like a personal signature.
I think this is also a tip to being elegant (even though it is not « dressing up », as such). 😊
True
I agree, " less is more". Natural appearance with neutral colours in the outfits. Pay attention to the details. Balance among all the tips 👠
Hello, I wish I knew your name so I can say "Hello ........" Mine is Gisele, I am French Canadian and love fashion...always have. I'm now 82 and. at this time, to help my daughter with her Sexy Plus fashion store for plus size women, I am sewing capelets (short capes made of easy flowing fabric. Women who prefer to cover their arms when wearing something a bit sexy love these. Chiffon, Silk, etc
Your comments are very pleasing and your emphasis of "less is more' is so right. A quick look at your complete ensemble is best. .
I agree wholeheartedly. Mostly I have already been following this excellent advice for a long time. I only have one problem. I'm American and live in an area that's very hot and humid from June through September. Dark colors and many fabrics are just too uncomfortable to wear during that time. I look for cotton, linen, and rayon in light colors, but they are getting more and more expensive and harder and harder to find 😞. Also, it seems a lot of summer clothing for women is too frilly and too many garish colors and prints. I thought maybe I was shopping in the wrong places, but some online searches had no better results.
I love all the fashion in this video I'm 60 and i love the french fashion and makeup
Wonderful to hear that! French fashion is timeless and elegant at any age. Keep getting inspired and experimenting with your style. Beauty knows no age! 🌟
Great video. I’m glad you show all ages. Although this video reaches out to older women, target younger women as well. All generations need this message!!
Thank you so much for your positive feedback! I'm very glad you enjoyed the video and appreciated the inclusion of all ages. :**
Tolles Video. Deutsche Untertitel wären genial.
Know yourself, know your style. Buy sustainable and pre-loved.❤
I didn’t know this was French style. I’ve always dressed like this intuitively and I’m English 😂
People forget the elegance of the English but! it goes way back.
Keep it up, literally the school of elegance of the world are in the UK 🇬🇧.
@@ajohonly3721Well done. Classic never goes out of style.
What a delightful coincidence! 😄 This shows how personal style can transcend cultural boundaries. Often, what we call 'French style' is a natural, effortless approach to fashion, something you're already intuitively practicing. This is wonderful because it means you have an innate sense of style that resonates with this classic and elegant aesthetic. Keep trusting your instincts and your own version of style, whether it's inspired by France, England, or anywhere else! ✨
@@LucrativeElegance I think it came from my mother. She grew up in the war years and made her own clothes. People forget that the British had a hard time after WW2 and were still using coupons to buy things. Clothes were expensive and so when she bought anything she carefully curated her wardrobe so that quality basics complimented each other and were interchangeable. She accented pieces with leather and gold accessories and would also utilise silk scarves to add a pop of colour. The mindset was that the clothes had to last. I feel like I absorbed these principles by a kind of osmosis, lolz. I wish I had inherited her colouring as she looked fantastic in Winter colours which made dressing in a minimalist way much easier.
@@ajohonly3721You want to bet on that? 😂 on dirait de la jalousie ça, non? 😉
Yes! Open-minded, fantastic ladies, from whom we should learn a lot! Thank you, for that fantastic video!
I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed the video and found inspiration in the open-minded, fantastic women we talked about. Indeed, we have much to learn from people who embrace life with such a positive and inspiring attitude. Thank you very much for your comment and support. Keep watching the channel for more content like this. Warm regards! 💖🌟
Merci beaucoup! ❤@@LucrativeElegance
I will incoporate the " no logos" tip moving forward! Thank you for the advise❤
I'm glad to hear that you liked the tip about avoiding logos! Choosing items without visible logos is a great way to create a more timeless and elegant look. Thank you for your comment and affection. ❤
If I am to wear a logo, I feel the brand should be paying me to advertise for them. Avoiding logos can be a daunting task.
Emmanuelle Alt and Josephine de la baume- both are the perfect embodiment of french style- style that is simple yet captures your attention whenever they passesby. ❤❤❤
Elegance is always key ❤❤
👏👏👏👏
I TRUELY LIKE ATALIAN FASHION ON WOMEN..ITS MORE CLASS ..STYLE..COLOURS..BEAUTIFUL...❤❤❤❤❤❤
Italian fashion is truly elegant and stylish! The colors and design make all the difference. ❤️✨
The subtle art of detail!!!xxx
no, more like trying to stay economical due to lower pay and less economic opportunities.
As a young girl my mother always bought dress pants and blouses so that would be my choice
I wear neutral colors since decades. And yes, I love the small details as well....and quality!!!!
It's great to hear that you have an affinity for neutral colors! They indeed provide an elegant and versatile base for any wardrobe. Also, your love for the little details makes all the difference, doesn't it? They can transform a simple item into something unique and special. :**
@@LucrativeElegance yes, they do!
And get a good dressmaker. Adjust sleeves, hems; change buttons. Get creative - old trousers - can you make them shorts. Old jumpers - can you restyle and make a tank top. Sleeves - can you make them 3/4 length. Apply the same methodology to trousers. Accessories- good quality socks by Margaret Howell. ❤❤❤
I love your suggestions! Creativity in fashion is an amazing way to refresh your wardrobe without spending a lot. Repurposing items, like turning old pants into shorts, and customizing jumpers into tank tops, are brilliant ideas. And of course, quality accessories like good socks always make a difference. Sustainable fashion is so trendy right now! Keep exploring and sharing your ideas. 💖✂️👖
The message here is inspiring! I need to stay focused on what is outlined here going forward!
So glad you found it inspiring! :**
I have been in Paris and in London. I know that people believes
that most fashionable people live in Paris. But I saw more beautiful and fashionable people in London than in Paris.
I prefer the Italian style, there are more colour and more self expressing.
It's interesting to hear about your preference for Italian style! Indeed, Italian fashion is known for its expressiveness and vibrant use of colors. It's an approach that celebrates individuality and the joy of dressing. It's always enriching to appreciate and incorporate elements from different styles around the world. I will consider including more Italian style inspirations in future content. Thank you for sharing your preference, and keep following the channel for more fashion and style tips! :*
@@LucrativeElegance Welcome and thank u:) I m also big fun of African ankara dresses .
The only problem they make nothing passed size 42(skinny size 12 in USA). Here we are 14w and 16w.
@@cephalonia71 which one do u mean this for? The Italian or the African?
@@kamillaerdos7636 Italian style- max size they got to is 12 or 14 US size. African styles are for bigger bottomed women and allow for size 14W - I believe the average woman in America right now is about size 14W. It's the stress of our lifestyle......
Just one more note: shoulder pads have returned and it's about time. We look taller...hence slimmer and the right shoulder pads just add a nice finish to the garment and abetter fit and fall of the garment.
They also make the waist look smaller
First before all: be slim. French women are slim and that's why all these classic pieces look good on them.
It’s not always possible to stay slim due to what life throws at you and menopause. This is something I have struggled with recently after neglecting myself to care for my Mum. I am working on the “slimness” but have realised that what gives clothes drama is the silhouette. I have always been pear shaped and now I am older my waist is not so well defined. You can still look good but you need to recreate the hourglass shape somehow. So I now look at my outfit and work out if I want a rounded or sharper angled shape. Shoulder pads and pointed shoes with a belted waist are now my key elements to looking slimmer and more elongated. It would be nice to be slimmer, but I have these things up my sleeve to help me :-)
@@JOJO-ug9ei I struggle too, but this is my observation after 12 years in Paris. They are slim, they look gorgeous and we want it or not, it's easier to dress up when you're slim.
@@elzbietaj2011 Yes, it is :-). I wish you good health.
The secret is: you must be slim !!!
And you must also have the right hairstyle. Then everything fits you.
I know what I write. I lost very much weight. Now I look differnt and I feel good.
Greetings from Elisabeth
I am French and I’ve always been petite/slim. When I was 110-115, I could wear anything and had lots of compliments but was not ‘healthy’…Then I quit smoking, gain an average of 10 lbs a year until now…I am 145-150 lbs but I feel great/healthy. I had to reinvent myself now as a Senior and ‘discipline’ is key. For me, no bread, no pasta, no junk food…stay with salads, fruits, cheese, nuts…adapt Mediterranean diet…it’s the best! Be healthy and you will look good even as a Senior! Walk, walk, walk…it’s great for the mind, soul & body!
I love ur analysis, u now have a new subscriber
Such a wonderful videoxxxthank you❤
Thank you! 😘❤️
I also like L.L. Bean Cotton simple sweaters...
I completely agree with this, thanks for sharing ❤️
👏👏👏👏😘❤️
Not many of the models over 50
Black ages 80 percent of older women....I found French ladies tend toward navy blue not black. Much more youthful. They also combine black and navy with genius.
Interesting observation! Indeed, navy blue is a classic color often seen as a softer alternative to black. It can add a touch of elegance without being as harsh, especially on older women. The French knack for creatively combining black and navy blue is an example of the subtlety with which they approach fashion. This shows how small changes in color palette can make a big difference in the overall look. Try incorporating navy blue into your wardrobe and see how it can rejuvenate and refine your style! 🌌🧵
Black is so easy! It looks good with my white hair, but I am consciously searching for more navy to wear around my face, hoping the combinations with existing black elements is looking interesting rather than a sign of not being able to tell the difference between the 2 colors! Where is that scarf? 🤣
Great video… lovely looks 🤗
😘😘😘❤️❤️
The jealousy in some of the comments on here is hilarious 😂😂😂
🤣🤣
It is true. Blue collar workers try to wear Lacoste. The higher middle class and uppercut class wears l'éther- fur. Italian made couture, but few logos (unless for rain-coats)
It’s depends from personality! From situation, from mood, and other conditions
Nice video, thank you.
😊 yes a very tailored crisp white shirt is always in style and please no logos
Agreed! A well-fitted white shirt is a timeless classic. And without logos, it becomes even more stylish and versatile. 👌
love all the tips , beautiful content ...thank you

Quality is getting harder to find. Keep looking!
Absolutely! The pursuit of quality is ongoing, especially in the world of fashion and elegance, where details make all the difference. :***
One more reason to shop thrift stores, online resellers and estate sales for quality pieces.
Love it!
😘😘😘😘
walking and drinking latte in a paper cup is definitely NOT the French attitude !!
Les françaises ne boivent jamais leurs cafés en marchant.
C’est très New-yorkais!
Interested in content which was effective but a lot of writing and music was annoying and frankly distracting.
Never seen a French girl with a beret on, dear!!!
I wii be trying the natural colours.
👏👏👏
☺️ thank you
😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️
@ *LVGUCI* The canvas tote actually reminds me of the Hermes Garden Party too. Thanks for making this video to suggest more budget friendly alternatives. love it!
I like it!
Fantastic video
Thank you! 😘❤️
I loved this video
Thank you! 😘❤️
Regarding your question? I like and love both❤
I do like classic or elegant too old fashion me
Beautiful people
The art of details.
👏👏👏👏👏
This video presents some really good tips but is sometimes let down by the examples chosen which look neither French nor very chic, e.g. the frumpy paisley print dresses. It would have been helpful to include better examples of what the presenter says but I appreciate her efforts
Спасибо. Все эти замечания к выбору применяю ежедневно, по ситуации
That's great to hear! I'm glad that the comments and tips are helping you make more conscious and suitable fashion choices for your personal style. You haven’t been to Paris lately, you don’t see Parisian women you see tourists from every corner of the globe.
Love how the French dress

True, saw one who had style,it helps to be thin

Class--- a fleeting concept! I've always hated logos period. Why advertise for makers?!
OMG, your talking about me😊

Okeyk

Thank vidik ..👼🙋♂️🙂💩👺🙋♀️🙋♂️👽👩🏫🙈👨💼👩🍳😶🧐🤒👨💻👨👩👧👧👨🌾🧙♀️👶
Over 50 would have been even more helpful if you had included more women who are actually over 50. Especially, the makeup segment.
Black, white, navy, gray. No to all for my skin. Camel, yes.
Baggy trousers? No thanks. Also, where does one find a nice fitted white blouse or shirt if you actually have a real woman’s bosom? Impossible!
So you really think you change tremendously when you turn 50? 🙄
I think classic Indian style is extremely beautiful. I believe the whole world of women would be beautiful in saris. But unfortunately the style is too complicated for modern life and also not so warm in cold places. I just had to bring it up, though, as being soooo very beautiful.
It's true, the sari is a stunning garment rich in history. Its beauty inspires us, even if it's not always practical for daily wear. Thanks for sharing your admiration!
Les cheveux c'est important dans l'élégance....On reconnait une américaine à sa coiffure ...Toujours trop de boucles, trop de volume !!!🥰
I prefer the vibrancy of Italian style-it values individual expression more it seems to me.
It’s because they’re thin and look good in simple clothes.
I don't see the links for make up.
True thing the brands and logos. Nowadays we don't wear clothes anymore, we are ambulant marketing for brands. When I see how the logos and names are so big and blatant in your face imprinted/painted on the clothes, even if I like them, I won't buy them
I totally understand your stance on brands and logos on clothing. It's an important reflection on how fashion and consumption intertwine with advertising and personal identity. :**
Beautiful but could be borring not unpredictable style
Italian fashion my fav
I understand your point! Italian fashion is indeed known for its sophistication and boldness, always bringing a touch of unpredictability. It's wonderful how each culture has its own approach to fashion, allowing us to explore different styles and find what best represents us. If you love Italian style, draw inspiration from it to add a touch of originality and charm to your wardrobe. Fashion is a vast and creative field, so have fun experimenting! ✨
BORZALMAS VOLT EZ A VIDEO A RENGETEG SZÖVEG MIATT
The devil is not in the details, he is pure evil‼️I appreciate French style however❣️🥰💕💕💕
It seems you always have to wear a jacket or coat or some layer to look elegant. Not so easy for those of us in warm climates.
How strange, I've always dressed and lived that way!
Am I French? Not at all! Totally Russian! 🙂
I guess it's all comes from family and culture aspects. 🤔
We also need to mention that French women are not grossly over weight that too makes a difference…… America is strongly over weight!!
French women hardly drink while walking..
