    I am French native. Came to USA at age 34...cooked all my life healthy food. In France the food is not highly processed like in the US. I trained, competed my whole life in fitness, balancing workouts, daily activities (outdoors), work, etc, in a healthy way...until menopause hit me hard, then cancer...i gained a lot of weight that I'm fighting to lose as I was never fat. But i have to accept the fact I am a survivor, and i can get back to my healthy routine...i do cook still, but having a hard time working out due to cancer treatment. But i recommend to all ladies (and gents) who love to cook to do it daily, meal prepping are the key ingredient to success. I usually know what I'm going to cook for the week (I always pick at least 2-3 dishes) that can last me a week. All fresh, all made from scratch. No junk, no soda, not too much sweet (i do have a sweet tooth! sadly!)..but it's all about moderation, being active, enjoying life..screw fad diets, they never work anyway! ;) Bisous! ♥

    We're screwed in the US, we are doing all the opposite what french people do. Our cities are designed for cars, not for walking, most food we eat is already contaminated with dyes, sugars, preservatives and who know what else the food industry adds to our food. We live in stress, always rushing doing stuff. A lot of people eat without being hungry, others eat out of boredom and many others eat to deal with depression, low self esteem. Being slim not only apply to French people, but it general Europeans with the exception to the British, they are getting chunkier

      That's a lot of rubbish about Americans. I'm a 65 year old American, live in a suburb, cook healthful meals, walk every day, weigh the same as I did at 15. I've noticed a lot of Americans think it's cool and sophisticated to badmouth the USA, especially the medical profession. Bashing US doctors and hospitals is routine. Yet in all my life I've never heard anyone in my family, relatives or circle of friends report in getting anything less than good care.

    Im filipino and much to our dish being veggies fishes and some meat i also use the portion control method the french do , morning afternoon and evening walks with the dogs and every morning veggie/fruit shopping per day when needed since theres an abundance here . Ive lessen snacking only letting some in as a treat nothing to over eat , any leftovers from night before is usually a good breakfast over rice . Theres mistakes at times yet finding a way to get back to healthy weight

    • @LucrativeElegance
      @LucrativeElegance  Před 5 měsíci +2

      It's inspiring to hear about your balanced and healthy approach to diet and lifestyle. The combination of a diet rich in vegetables, fish, and a moderate amount of meat provides an excellent foundation for healthy nutrition. Additionally, employing portion control methods akin to the French, and physical activities like walking your dogs, undoubtedly contribute to overall well-being.
      Incorporating fresh fruits and vegetables into your daily diet, especially with the abundance available in the Philippines, is a fantastic advantage. Limiting snacks and creatively repurposing leftovers are smart practices for maintaining balance.
      It's natural to encounter challenges and 'mistakes' on the path to a healthy weight. The key is to learn from these experiences and continue adapting. Remember that the journey towards a healthy lifestyle is not linear and involves continuous adjustments. Congratulations on maintaining a conscious and healthy lifestyle. Keep up the great work!

    • @LucrativeElegance
      @LucrativeElegance  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I completely understand! Sometimes, small changes in our habits can make a big difference. If drinking water from a bottle is more convenient for you, then it's a great strategy to ensure you stay hydrated. Remember, hydration is crucial for health and well-being, so any effort in this direction is worthwhile. You might also try adding some flavor to your water, with slices of fruits or herbs, to make it more enjoyable. The important thing is to find a method that works for you and make hydration a regular part of your routine. Kudos for the effort and keep it up!

The love of my life decided to leave me, I really love her so much I can’t stop thinking about her, I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated, I don’t see my life with anyone else. I’ve done my best to get rid of the thoughts of her, but I can’t, I don’t know why I’m saying this here, I really miss her and just can’t stop thinking about her.

      And you nailed it. Half of my family is french so I'm used to their lifestyle. And my cousins drink wine almost everyday! Actually frenches and Italians are very similar, except that Italians eat more flour than them. But that's it. It's a wine culture and portions are smaller than anywhere. They save a day, usually Sunday, to have a brunch with pain au Chocolat, croissant, etc. And would eat late the lunch with a lot of wine and cheese, and all the good things France has to offer. Also the quality of food is another item, they eat organic and this is very cheap. Italians only eat local products to make sure the quality and freshness.
      Both smoke a lot but frenches also skip meals and never eat more than 3 times a day. Both walk a lot and avoid cars.

    I think genetically, the French are mostly ectomorphs. Ectomorphs carry less muscle, look sleek, and lose weight easily. My friend who is an ectomorph can eat all she wants (she eats more than I do!) and not gain weight while I, being a sad endomorph, gain weight just looking at food and have to work out a lot to lose anything. It's not fair but that's how it is.

    I am an American, of French ancestry, I was born in Los Angeles, and also grew up in very Germanic Wisconsin. • @LynaLoopS
      @LynaLoopS Před 4 měsíci +3

      Trust me as a French woman, we get fat just like any other human beings. The average French woman pant size is a US size 10. We are not model thin. There is no such thing as a "enter country name" DNA. It's always about calories intake, and calorie burning. Our cities are walkable, the use of bicyles is quite common all over Europe. Unlike the USA, in France we have strong health regulations around food and hygiene, so we do not have to eat meat grow on hormones. We don't have all of our foods filled with preservatives and drown in sugar. Also, vegetables are relatively affordable almost anywhere in the EU, unlike in the USA where a cheeseburger is less than a dollar, whereas a salad cost 6-7 dollars a bowl. We do not have a culture of drinking sodas and frying most of our foods either.

    • @MissBabalu102
      @MissBabalu102 Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@LynaLoopS I live in West Los Angeles, and nobody eats like that here. Have you lived here? Most people shop at Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, local farmer's markets and Sprouts where there is good and well labeled food. We do not have any people of French heritage here, and very few in America, (3%)so maybe it's just me and I should visit France more often and see for myself, but of course there is little way to really know somebodies ancestry without talking. In my experience the Germanic people in Wisconsin did put on the pounds more easily, and some others too, they are much taller and bigger boned and maybe a different hormonal balance. If they lived in my healthier Santa Monica area, they still would be somewhat overweight. Of course, being active and eating healthy does help most people. My guess is that one trait encourages the other. I am French heritage, so why do I act and look so French? (Also, I wish our Cheeseburgers were that cheap, but inflation ruined it.)
