Great video! I'm here from your blf link. I am waiting on a ft02s xhp50, but after watching this I feel I should've got the hk04 xhp50. I prefer the nicer beam. I have hk04 sst40 and its beam is really nice and it's turbo holds well. I had to sell my EC03 sst40 excuse the beam was terrible for me, even outside. There was no fluidity to it, it was distracting to look at. EC03 xhp50 has a nice beam though, so hoping my ft02s xhp50 beam is decent in real life.. thanks for the great review! Also, where can I order the hk04 for the price you mentioned in the video?
Good practical review. Outdoors and for my application my FT02S performs well. Yes the reflector geometry could be improved but it's not a deal breaker for me personally. The only other multi-cell and multi-emitter torches I have are BLF Q8 and the MF01S. I was (and remain) tempted by the Acebeam K30-GT (single SBT90.2 emitter, 3x 18650's) but I have the FT03S. I've concluded I'd rather have single cell lights for safety and reduced weight (unless short use/trip) and carry spare batteries in a case or portable charger that doubles up as a power bank for emergencies. I couldn't make my mind up on this for the longest time. I wish the FT03S had the same form factor as the FT02S though but physics is physics!
beam pattern on FT02S looks horrible, reflectors are too deep and cause rings on beam pattern, i didn't expect such thing as this from Astrolux. It would be perfect if it had smooth beam
I don't think so. HK04 has better Beam and better output. And you obtain higher runtime. Vietnam reviews didn't take enough time for them to compare the runtime for each one.
Old ft02 xhp70 and xhp35hi model is crap, it will parasitic drain the batteries in 2 week even if not using it, battery will go completely flat.. hopefully they use new driver and this not happens again on this new ft02s..

Thank you. I like the shape of FT02S. The only downside is that the beam is not pretty. In general it does not affect usage.

It is related to power. HK04 pushes power even higher. You will probably hear the sweet spot. Best performance score on leds. I will choose FT02S.
