    My cousin took my heart earrings and lost it, that was a gift from my Lola (Grandma). The necklace is safe, but I think I'm never going to get those earrings back. So they said that my cousin needs psychological assessment and I wondered why she keeps stealing stuff, so I'm glad I came across this video.

    I was a dreadful thief. What a thrill it gave me and not only that, it really was sometimes out of necessity I did it. I remember being hard up and not having food for the family on a Sunday so I stole some sausages for dinner!
    I made a conscientious and conscious decision not to steal anymore as I am convinced that the laws of cause and effect occur when one does something like this. I really did suffer negative consequences. For example I always - but always - had bad luck and had people regularly steal from me too. There may be a psychological reason for my behaviour in relation to this but I swear that my “luck” changed for the better when I stopped stealing. I do not do it anymore and the thought of it now absolutely appalls me.

    I dont wanna diagnose myself but I show alot of symptoms in this video. when I was around 6 or 7 I have massive anxiety issues I took near 35 books in elementary school, I dont even need them I also take stuff like shampoo ect and I dont even need like 10 bottles of them just in my closet. I get anxiety and tension about taking the item and then im in a consistent battle on weather i should take it or not ill go inna loop hole of these thoughts. When I take the item I feel good that the stress on me deciding to take it or not is gone and when im left with this item that I took I feel mad and all these emotions bringing myself down, ashamed that I took something that I can easily afford it’s stupid because I dont even need these stuff for personal value Somtimes ill even try to put the item back that I have taken from a family member anomalously. I am now 17 and realized its only getting worst when i took from another family member that I love I was embarrassed to tell my parents but I told them because im tired of it, it truly bothers me to the core but its like I cant stop it’s annoying. I get relieved when the person either found the item so they can have it back or if i see them looking for it and they actually need it ill try to return it anomalously Alot of people dont say anything about it because there ashamed of it. I am too but its gotten to the point where im starting to effect my relationships with people. This has been going on for years.

      i'm also 17, and i don't want to diagnose myself either but i also strongly believe i have kleptomania. i only steal from shops and have never stolen from a person before, but what you've said is relatable to me. i want to get help but i don't know how to tell my parents. i've told a few of my friends, and now i don't think they trust me. i got my friend a birthday present and she asked me if i stole it. i told her no but i could sense that she did not believe me and it hurts because i know my other friends also cannot trust me fully. i hope you've found help and i hope i do too. it's really consuming me.

      I'm very sorry for you, sisso. Don't stress too much and take medical help. I know it's hard to cure any psychological disorder like Kleptomania but it can be controlled to some extent with therapy and medications. I know you will be fine, all you have to do is get help, care and love. And most importantly, believe in yourself, God is there to make things alright. Oh, by the way, what's your name, sis? Where are you from?
      Your story reminds me of a casual theft when I was a child. I was in class two and I stole a story book from my friend and I felt that it was fun doing it. Now I don't repent it, I actually didn't return my friend the book and she had forgotten about it as well. I also took away a packet of red chilli powder from a shop and now I laugh about it. I even tried to steal tomatoes sometime ago. And I was a child, had no idea about theft and did those only for fun. Oh, and I also took a sketch pen from my friend as I liked that object and wanted to have it.

    I live with this rich lady who I already know is crazy. I knew the minute I met her that she was crazy. I am in between a rock and a hard place and I have to live with her right now. The thing is that I want our friendship to grow but I know I can't trust her. She has stolen tons of stuff from me. She goes through my things when I am gone. I come home and my belongings have been rifled through. I have to lock my good stuff in my car trunk and always keep my keys on me. I don't understand why she takes my personal items, like my soda cup, a hair brush or a medicine. She is rich. I am poor. It just pisses me off especially when she lies about it.

    I don't think I'm a kleptomaniac because I only steal stuff that I need BUT sometimes I steal stuff just because, heck, "why not". Maybe I am a klepto but I definitely never stolen something and not use it.
    Edit: I also steal stuff for monetary gain (I sell what I steal so I can buy stuff that otherwise is not possible to steal).

      I'm a klepto and i never feel shame or remorse, it's just a compulsive need to do it. If it's any given item that isn't mine that piques my interest I steal it. if you have that same urge, you're probably klepto.

    I always steal something when i am being introduced to a new room or gonna be in that room for a while. It's almost as a part of a ritual I have in order to get used to somehing new. Its not often but the times i do it, the stuff that i steal are basically pointless and idk why I do it. I study art and I often find myself stealing brushes, clips and other shit that I already have at home. Sometimes it's as low as stealing buttons off the floor. It's either tha I genuinely have this condition, or it's cuz I'm a Romanian XD (it's a joke)

    • @MedicalCentric
      @MedicalCentric  Před 10 měsíci

      Engaging in stealing due to the aesthetic appeal of objects may indicate an underlying issue, and it's important to consider seeking professional help. Kleptomania is a mental health disorder characterized by an impulse to steal items, often without economic motive or personal use. Consulting with a mental health professional can provide insights into the root causes of such behavior and help develop strategies to manage impulses and address any emotional or psychological factors contributing to kleptomania.
