"they can train you to play with them the way you like"
In soviet russia cat trains you..
@@canu7429 No, just for the first time these cats were bred in Russia in the city of Archangelsk
Master Mind oh boy, do i have to get in the ‘r/woosh’, cuz i rlly don’t want to
russian maybe, but why soviet? current affair is, the soviet union is no more and maybe most russians don't like the joke because it is not such a great memory.

"They can train you to play with them the way they like" - too true.
biggerbellytinybelly Indeed! Things have to be done the Russian Blue way or no way! Very strong willed and very conscious about how it wants things to be done.
No cat can train a person
Yo for real. My cat has literally trained us all to understand what he wants when he wants it. I’ve only been able to get him to respond to his name...which he only does when he wants lol we all love him very much tho.
Too real, my boy has picked me as his favorite playmate and he will run up to me and show when he wants to play. We even have a routine and he has a route around the house he likes to run so that I will chase him or he will chase me
Lol
I never really liked cats until I got a Russian Blue. Still my best friend.
twentyarms cool where did you get yours
Craigslist, of all places.
twentyarms that's risky any hints on ensuring your not scammed?
THat's where I got mine too!! Didn't cost me a penny either. A real luck cat...

I got my Russian blue cat from a shelter! How such such a beautiful cat ended up in a shelter is beyond me!
Russian blues are the best. My wife and have had lots of cats over a 50 year time. We were looking for a Niebelung and the lady asked if we didnt want this all grey kitten that was about the same age. We took him, and he turned out to be a Russian Blue and was the best cat, and smartest, we ever had. If my wife and I were in a loud debate he would come into the room where we were and start voicing his disapproval to get us to stop the argument. We lost him to cancer last month at 12 years. His name was Clayton. He will be missed very much.
My little one passed away a few weeks ago, just a day before her 15th birthday.. i dont remember life without her, because we got her when i was still in kindergarden (im 20 now). And i cant help but feel so guilty because i wasnt with her when she died.. She was so loving and smart. The smartest cat i saw in my life. She slept with me every day, whenever i was sick or sad she was always there by my side, purring and comforting me. There are no words in the world that could say how much i loved her and how much i miss her.. she was such a big part of your family... our house feels empty and the pain in immeasurable. I just hope that she is in a better place now, feels no pain, is happy and still sees us and how much we love and miss her.
My Russian blue is my baby ♥️ she follows me around the house and cry’s at me if I stop petting her. She is the only cat I’ve ever had that has come to me for a cuddle. Love her
Alyssa Ferreira , my Russian Blue will sit on my lap in the bathroom, that's his time only, the other cat and small dog stay in the living room.
awww sounds so cute! honestely im getting oone soon
Yep. My Russian Blue is the first cat I’ve ever had that can be considered a “lap cat”, she plays, she snuggles, sleeps with me etc. she is VERY affectionate. I then got a 2nd Russian blue, a little male kitten, I thought she’d mother him like she did my black cat that was a kitten when I got him(“Free Kittens” in a box at Walmart, lol), nope. She HATES this new cat ‘cause he’s got so much energy and chases her around the house, lol. He just wants to play with her but she has none of it and hisses at him and runs. I try to play with him to “wear him out” but he’s just got so much damn energy!
BTW I named my Russian Blue girl “Sasha” and my male Russian Blue “Yuri”, I went and gave my black cat a Russian name too, lol, his name is “Ivan” 🤓
istg harries r everywhere

Honestly, my Russian Blue, Patois, is one of the most beautiful, kind, funny, and vocal cat i know. He always speaks back when anyone talks to him. His favourite question is "what did you do today, Patois?' I don't even think anyone knows how much he has changed my life. My first cat was honestly my best cat. Love you and miss you bosom boy
Tris Daley my first cat was a Russian blue too. He wasn’t vocal, we was quiet, but when I clicked my fingers he would climb up on to my bed and lie on my chest. He passed away a few days ago, and I agree. You couldn’t get a better first cat than a Russian blue
Patois? I love his name. Are you Jamaican?
@@aquaabundance4077 yes, i am! my mother named him 😹
They're not a vocal breed? I think that just depends on the cat, my sixteen year old Russian Blue talks all time.
Maybe You are a nice person to talk too
And obviously it depends on the individual cat but generaly they Arent
It depends on the human: The Russian Blue will excell in whatever mode of communication fits the human best: My Russian Blue always talks loud and clearly to my mom, because she doesn't understand body language. She (the cat) only talks to me when she's very impatient, displeased or excited, because she knows that I read and responds to her body language well enough to always know what she's thinking. A Russian Blue is significantly more clever and sneaky than other domestic cat breeds. Always observing, analysing, experimenting, plotting and planning.
Same experience here. Mine is extremely vocal. Ive had many cats but my russian likes to meow more than any cat ive had. she meows when we wake up, when we come home, when she is bored, when she leaves the room...
Alannah Mitchell well they meow, not talk
james1977 meowing is talking for cats. They have a language all their own.
Russian blues are the best. I have one and she always loves me and follows me everywhere. I learned some really cool things about them. They can play fetch, they're intelligent, and they can open doors. They're also easy to train. My russian blue baby is 6 months old (I think) and she's on heat right now ;-;
I have a russian blue cat, and she's my best friend ever. She helps me through depression and sadness, and she's just too cute. Plus it's really easy to take care of her.
I have a Russian Blue named Gabriel. I would run into a burning building to save that cat. If i didnt come out alive we would go down together. He who says animals have no soul... I doubt you know your self.
Dennis Breault do you think the same about chickens since thise are animals with soul too?
@@marcelrodriguez2067 he said his cat, not any random cat. Who would risk their lives for a random chicken?
L U M A T I C someone that has a chicken as a pet? Lol he said animals have a soul and a chicken is an animal 😂. Im going by what he said bud.
@@marcelrodriguez2067 but it would be their pet, not a random chicken?
It's so accurate that they can train you to play with them the way they like! My kitten has already "taught" me several different types of games, including fetch, stalk and pounce, wrestling/playfighting, and chase, all of which require me to move his toys in different and specific ways for him to interact with.
My Russian Blue is wonderful and honestly he is everything I could hope for in a cat. He is so affectionate and playful and a total lap cat. He plays fetch and was easy to harness train, and when I walk him on a leash outside he actually follows and walks with me like a dog. He follows me around the house, loves pets and snuggles, and always wants to be close to me. He is also super smart and can be a bit of a troublemaker haha. He is a bit shy with strangers at first which is also a breed characteristic, but he warms up quickly. Overall a lovely breed, so happy I had the chance to bring my Russian Blue kitten into my life.
I have 2 Russian blue cats and they are amazing. Ash is now a mother, aj her brother is a mean fighting Machine the both of them have been trained to be my therapy cats for my anxiety attacks and I love them both with all my heart, and I’m glad I got them
the Russian blue is just perfect, forget the price but it's loyal, cuddly and is tolerant to children. it has a beautiful eye colour and can learn to like other cats and dogs from a young age. at first I wanted a ragdoll or an exotic shorthair but when I got Cleo my heart was melted.
She’s absolutely spot on. I love my blue boy. Very smart cat indeed. And MASSIVE for a domestic cat... standing on his rear legs outstretched he reaches his paws onto my kitchen worktop. Lovely breed. My favourite of them all.
A mutual of mine had a Russian blue who was a little ball of energy. He was aggressive when playing, he would bite and scratch my arms to no end but i loved him. He would turn into a ball and almost roll like Stitch would do in the movies. He was the sweetest bean ever
SO TRUE! My cat is all those things! Hes about 9 or 10 now and he sleeps most of the day but when hes up hes very active! And such a lover!!! I would always recommend this breed! And what a beautiful Blue you have!
Before watching the video: Yes.
After watching the video: Yes.
Watching the video with a Russian Blue: Yes.
I love my Russian Blue he's very smart and sneaky. He just talks when he wants attention food or water. He's also very very cuddly and likes to be held.
Yes it is he is the best and I don-t wanna argue...I love my Russian blue!!!
I have a Russian Blue. She was a jerk to my family but I loved her. Now she loves everyone and she talks to me 24/7 (Literally she meows a LOT. Like.. *A LOT* ). And she's beautiful! She's a purebred Russian blue.. She'd sell for a lot but I could *NEVER* sell my baby. She's a darker gray then most Russian blue's I've seen, but she has a white upside-down triangle marking on her chest, and white-tipped paws. She's amazing, and sweet. I love her!
I had one and they are absolutely amazing , basicly someone had left one kitten outside my school and it turned out it was a Russian blue (I don't know who would abandon such an amazing kitten ,but I strongly recommend them )😀🐈🐈🐈

Boy he is a gorgeous cat! And looks very smart.
I remember Donna Fuller and her gorgeous Russians from the CFA show at Madison Square Garden, in the late ‘70s, early ‘80s!
Such a beautiful looking cat. Lots of people on CZcams saying they have a Russian Blue cat. This one brings no doubts. Thanks for posting!
Yeah, I think probably 80% of people claiming they have Russian blue from Craigs list or Kijiji have a different cat. lol
I really want one 😭♥️ i love this breed
I have a RB female. Paid a lot of money and went to great lengths to get her. I can tell you I would do it all over. She is the absolute best cat!!!
Why does my and her cat look so alike by like every detail
best cat ever!!!
They can't be trained but they'll train YOU! Thats my kinda cat!
My Russian blue Male meows all the damn time Haha I joke we shouldve named him sir meows a lot.
Hello denis fan
Russian Blues are a type of cat I would recommend to families with young children as I think they are an even-tempered cat and are not likely to bite or scratch. My family and I had one for 14 years and I don't ever recall her deliberately trying to bite or scratch any of us. It was six months ago today, in fact (3 April 2017), she had to be put down. She was 15 years old, which is probably about the average life expectancy if you live in a subtropical climate, just as we do, however they may possibly live longer in cooler parts of the world.
JesusIs King Never ever get a Russian blue if you have children, if they get annoyed they will attack, children usually mishandle animals so I wouldn’t recommend. Every family I’ve known who has had one always had bad experiences.
My russian blue cat is badly tempered and scratches me.
My sister's Russian blue is a real biter and scratcher.
Only Ragdolls never scratch.
I agree. my parents got us one that was probably 3 years old and there were 6 young kids. He was so chill and let my younger sisters do whatever shenanigans they wanted to him. you could hold him in any way you wanted and pet him anywhere. He was such a good boy 😭
Love my 'Mia' have her 7yrs now and she IS a joy!
THEYRE AMAZING I HAVE A 4 month Russian blue and he is adorable and he listens surprisingly I love him my baby
Absolutely love them.❤🙏
What a beautiful cat! I want to keep Russian Blue.
I've wanted one for years, but I'm going to have to wait some more.
BEAUTIFUL...VERY SMART CATS..
I have a Russian blue but I think she’s mixed with British shorthair or maybe tabby. Her fur is dark but shiny. At the shelter they tagged her as a grey blue mix. She’s the best cat I’ve ever had. No offense to Chelsea and Winny. Jimmy loves everyone she meets and everyone loves her. She’s super well behaved, never bites or hisses, playful at appropriate times, hardly ever keeps me up at night, and just an overall friendly cat. I don’t think any cat can top Jimmy :)
Ridiculously cute!
"They will train you to......"
Says it all, LOL!!!
I have one so badly I'm saving up for this cat
They are perrfect for me my Sebby was rescued he is 7yrs old we are literally best friends!!! I just want to say with all the darker haired Russian strays roaming around not only the us but Canada, and Europe countries which I've been following it's an issue. I feel the look of the show breed has been altered so it's possible the others are being thrown away like garbage. I want to know who is doing this, and I want to advocate to protect this lovely intelligent loving cat that will definitely change anyone's opinion about cats who've never had one, they are extremely dog like in behavior just a pleasure to have. I also want to see the breeders be responsible with the stock if they aren't perfect they don't belong in the streets or shelters they are still Russian Blues and very special like the famous Siamese they are far from ordinary. Please Preserve the breed and protect these Angel Cats!!! Don't change their appearance as you can see here with the one in her hand!!! They never used to look like that, then throw away the rest!!! Who else but a breeder would do such a thing?. Go ahead look up pictures of them do the comparison yourself the breeders have altered the look of the show cat considerably but the true original blood line is still around mostly left as unwanted strays!!!. There are so many roaming the streets at an international level at this point, when 10-20years ago you wouldn't even see one. Someone has to be responsible for this attrocity. How do we protect animals, when genetics are used for our own human amusement? #Recueandprotecttherussianbluecats
Beautiful cats 🐈⬛
Mine is really vocal. High energy. Lovable. Playful. Respectful. If you tell her 👎 or be easy she will listen. She has to be with me at all times Shes never solitary.
They are the best cats
My cat is a russian blue she is the most talkative cat ever
Beautiful jewellery :) Also, very informative, thanks.
Best cat breed ever.
He is absoultly beautiful😍😍😍
russian blues are hard to take care of though. they need alot of attention and they don't like to be alone. you have to play with them for about two hours a day but they are sweet and cuddly.
Really? I keep hearing the exact opposite. That theyre one of the few cats that can be alone and enterain themselves throughout the day if need be.
Not true ours keeps himself entertained and yes he does beg for attention sometimes but doesn't require two hours of it, but all cats are different
No they need attention. They are cool
It's not a high maintenance breed, but cats are also individuals, so there will be exceptions.
If it really does take 2 hours of owner-lead exercise oriented playtime to keep your cat from remodelling your home or becoming an ankle assassin, I think you should probably be looking at diverting some of that time into activities that are more mentally stimulating(involving smells and/or some kind of problem solving) since that is more tiring for many high energy cats, might save you some time or atleast give you some options.
If your cat likes kibble or hard treats, you can hide them around your apartment or get one of those little activity balls or kongs that your cat has to work to get the treats out of. If you live in a place where it's safe and practicable, going outside for a while with your cat in a harness is also good(doesn't need to be an actual walk or workout even, just processing all the different smells outside counts as an exciting activity).
@@MikeyPaper mine is very chill and doesn't mind being left alone. She would lay across the living room while im playing PS4 for hours. She does like attention as well but usually she's calm like a stoner lol
I just lost my little Blue Russian cat, Elsa. Just died of cancer. I am so sad, and crying everyday since. She was my baby, my daughter! Will never forget you and your unconditionnal love! I have her ashes with me and she will be buried with me. An eternal love!
My first cat was a Russian blue runt and I named her bluestar after a cat in the warrior cats book series when I was 11. Now that I’m 18, I just call her booby! My cat is very very vocal, she’ll greet me with atleast 2 meows every time I talk to her, and will meow for attention all the time. She had gum problems so she had to get all but four teeth removed, and she’s happier then ever now. She’s my small whiny baby :3
YASSSSSS ANOTHER WARRIOR CAT FAN
Thank You, Mame
Really love them, and they are one of the breeds i can pet without getting allergic. Like i got from the most cats. The only thing, they cost alot to buy one, and thats sucks so hard. I have to save a lot of money before i can enjoy with one. Looking for one to addopt so he/she have a better life. But sure they will be worth every cent.
I found a russian blue kitten a month ago i wanted to keep it so bad but it turned out to belong to the neighboors 😭😭 it was so beautiful too
That is a beautiful cat.
I have a Russian blue cat, Gibson. I would put a pillow in a laundry basket and I would put him in there. He would get comfortable and go to sleep. He HATES being held down. When I was 7 I tried to "snuggle" with him. He didn't like it. He always purrs. He NEVER EVER EVER hissed. And I would ALWAYS give him catnip. Oh boy, I just love giving my cat cat drugs! One time, my cat stayed in the laundry basket for 2 hours! So, I had a big red blanket on a chair (I dont know why) and he just kinda jumped up on the chair and fell asleep. I LOVE GIBSON!🐱
I'm planning on getting a Russian Blue for the coming New Year. Their breed and temperament is ideally matched for me. The biggest highlight is that they have low allergen content .
Ohh so cute! I have an English Tonkinese and he's absolutely gorgeous. So Soft and cuddly.
I have a strong russian blue mix, his name is Ramon. Grey/blue with white paws. Friendliest most loving cat. I annoy the hell outta him and he doesnt care, still loves cuddles. Best cat
His name must be Misha or Wowa or Wanja
😭😭😭 I miss my Russian blue
bella isabelle I miss mine, too. He was sick, and I had to put him down on Veterans Day. I am crushed. 😢

l know....they are so wonderful& real companions.
Once you go Russian Blue, there really is no other cat breed that'll do... So you should adopt a new one. :)
I miss my Cosmo😔
He had an old soul. Everyone that came across him liked him including those that did not like cats. There was something about Cosmo that made him so special. I always felt he was a human in a past life. I know that may sound crazy to many, but that's how I felt. He would always bring me little cat presents back when he was young. I miss my boy.
Such a beautiful kitten

What a beautiful cat
I didn't pick this Russian blue, he was here when I moved in. I just started putting food/water out for him. He's very faithful, talks to me, and I pay him attention whenever I come and go. If it's not very warm outside, I'll sit on the patio and he'll jump in my lap for some love.
So beautiful
thats one nice fucking kitty right there

I HAVE A RUSSIAN BLUE CAT SHE IS EIGHT MONTHS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL AND INTELLIGENT SHE OWNS US AND WE LOVE IT
my neighbours russian blue cat came once as a baby and kept following me and never left again 😂
They're quite clingy too
My Russian blue kitten is really sweet... when she's tired. When she wants to play, she sneak attacks from behind and my hands are covered in cuts from her biting and scratching me!
Sooooo cute 😍😍😍😍🐱🐱🐱🐱
Thank you for the tip about look after Russian Blue 😸
It's so sweet!!!!!
My family is getting 2 Russian blues in August!!!! I’m so excited and I’m researching things they need and how I can help them feel at home. Does anyone have any tips or tricks I should know?
Where are you getting them from? Are the purebred? I’m looking to buy one hopefully within the next 2 years
Easy. Brush them maybe one or two times a day if you want them to look sharp, feed them well, give them lots of water and room to run around, and play with them constantly. And don't forget the chin rubs!!
I got a Russian Blue from a shelter because his owner died from old age and nobody in the owner's family wanted him. He was free! We fixed him, dewormed him etc and he's the best cat I have ever owned. He was overweight but by implementing a diet he is now of average size and doesn't eat as much.
My blue hair is so smart and he is concious about his weight. He eats very little, just enough to get full, he doesn't over indulge like his tabby brother. He is slender and agile. Very intelligent.
I have a Russian Blue mix, and she ticks off all the marks of the breed. She definitely doesn't vocalize unless she wants something, like if she doesn't know where I am she will meow and I'll call to her and she will come. She's also fiercely independent but at the same time she is my first cat out of my 3 to greet me when I get home from work. She's stubborn, though! If I try to change her routine, she will use her little vocalizations to let me know she doesn't like it.
Omg! That cat is beautiful!
We have a Russian blue cat they are so sweet
Gorgeous Russian Blue kitten! 😻
Pretty spot on about everything other than the vocal part. My Russian blue will talk non stop, quite a few other i have come across are the same as well. I would even venture to say a Russian blue who is not as vocal is a anomaly.
My plays fetch. She is badly tempered, but smart XD. Scratches, bites, hates being picked up, loves sleeping and fighting, an chews my toys.
I want one so bad.
