God has been leading me to the Catholic Church all my life, yet I didn’t listen. Despite my foolishness, He has done so much for me and my family. I finally completed RCIA one year ago and our children now attend the Parish school. I am so proud to experience the fullness of the Catholic Church and am blown away by the blessings we’ve experienced since our conversion. I am just now learning about the “complexities” or dare I say corruption within the Church, and to that I say, wouldn’t the enemy fervently attack Christ’s true Church? Our faith should not wane during these trying times, but strengthen! Praying for you all 🙏

I went down this insecurity scrupulous path more than a decade ago. That led me to sedevacantism. Sedevacantism: belief that the occupiers of the Holy See are not valid Popes. I kept my head in the sand; I didn’t continue my research once I found a priest that was validly ordained and was not agreeing with the Magisterium. Y’all…our Lord wouldn’t abandon us like that.
Taylor is right, we need to have faith.
“The Lord confesses at the time of the Passion that he prayed for him: ‘I have prayed for you, Peter, that your faith may not fail: and when you have turned again, strengthen your brethren’ [Lk 22:32], by this manifestly indicating that his successors would never at any time deviate from the Catholic faith, but rather they would recall others and also strengthen others in such a way as to impose on others the necessity of obeying….”
-Pope Innocent III, Apostolicae Sedis Primatus (November 12, 1199)
Also, I don’t know how long ago this video was recorded, but there’s been a more accurate study saying that 81% of U.S. Catholics attending Mass weekly believe in the real presence of our Lord in the Holy Eucharist. If you’d like to read the findings you can look up the “Do Catholics Truly Believe in the Real Presence?" study by Vinea Research. Father David Michael Moses also posted a video about it on June 24, 2024.

Dr. TAYLOR, You have a rare understanding of the Catholic faith. Your studies have served you well. All our recent popes have been outstanding, valid, and as for Pope John Paul II, he saved the church. Our present pope is not the antichrist, but he could be the obomination of desolation sitting where he aught not. Jesus warned that when we see this, we should flee to the mountains. An indication of bad things to come. The church will never be destroyed. We, the remnant of Catholic faithfull, will preserve the faith, save it, and carry it through the chastizement to the new age. A future pope will restore all things after the enemies of the church clean house of so many of our traitor clergy. Father Stephano Gobi says 80% of the clergy will perish during the great chastizement.

Not quite true. There's also the possibility of hell because at least here they haven't done proper catechism for two or three generations!
I grew up in the Church. Had the sacraments of Baptism through to confirmation. All invalid except baptism because no one ever bothered to say not confessing or holding back something which the Church considers a sin, even if you don't, invalidates the _entire_ confession, and not being in a state of Grace the others are not effective, indeed are a grave sin themselves. And so I fell away for 35 years.
Thank God for the FSSP, Catholic priests who are faithful and don't seem to make it up as they go along.
I had some wonderful priests as a child, but not one that saw to that I even knew _about_ the catechism, let alone knew it. Which reminds me to say the Rosary for them, they are passed now.
Yes it is the duty of parents but the priest should at least ask! Especially when they were so involved with us otherwise. It's not as though I got the Sacraments from a visiting priest! Except confirmation which of course conferred by the local ordinary. Bishop Bede Heather in this case. Though they did prepare us for first reconciliation, first communion and confirmation. But it wasn't even in the same postcode as catechism. Just the vaguest most forgettable stuff you can imagine about being kind, etc.
I had heard about catechism, as some boring thing my dad was subjected to as a boy, and he put it right up with Latin as a waste of time. He was an apostate, funny that, in fact he never believed despite submitting to the appearance of the Sacraments as a child. Mainly so he didn't get shit beat out of him by the brothers and fathers that taught him.
But he didn't tell us that till we were in our late teens early twenties long after we refused to go to (Novus Ordo) mass on Sundays when we hit puberty.
He dutifully took us to mass and Sunday school before that point. Sat in the pews and went through the motions. Honestly can't remember if he received communion, I don't think so?
I was also in Catholic school with Benediction and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament every Friday, occasional actual mass.
Mum was Church of England but would sometimes take us to mass, never receiving Holy Communion herself. She did want us to be raised Catholic, but can't really be blamed for being confused about what that entailed, not being Catholic herself. May God bless her and deliver her.

Have you tried the FSSP or ICRSS/ICKSP? Or other society that does the 1962 (or perhaps earlier) liturgy but is in full communion with Rome?
I was going to go Orthodox year before last, but they never returned my emails and calls. Thanks be to God, for now I have found the actual Catholic Church not the drab post conciliar modernism I was raised in.
As much as I love our Orthodox brothers and most of their practices, some seem extremely off. Such as the practice of antidoron. Supposedly it isn't consecrated but it comes from the same piece which I _think_ is carved before consecration, but as a Catholic it makes my blood run cold.
That said they are seem more pious than many Catholics today. The abuses of the sacraments and general irreverence since the 1960s is shocking. And I was born in the seventies! Can only imagine how bad it all must seem to a Catholic that lived before 1969 but didn't get sucked in to the modernist kitch, which I love in the living room, but in sacred architecture and music and the liturgy? No thanks✋🏻

This church is a disaster, I have begun to really question everything that i believe in. At this point, I don't think that anyone knows what the truth is. The evil on the outside does not bother me, but the level of evil on the inside over the decades has increased to an unprecedented level. The one true church ? Who knows anymore, what the truth is.

What ever else the n/o is,.it's still a valid Eucharist. Keep receiving Jesus to strengthen you. Pray the rosary during Mass so you aren't distracted by the abuses. A old(ish) man and a new(ish) convert. So my view is one tempered by years of not believing and still having that child-like naivety. I suspect that many of those who instinctively lash out at individuals who say Pope Francis is not the Pope or that Pope Francis is the Pope but he is a heretic or that Pope Francis simply isn't Catholic are reacting in fear and anger.
Fear, because what does it mean if they are right? Well, depending on the security of your faith that God has abandoned the Church because we, like Adam, failed to keep the snakes away. They are afraid because if the ... and I want to be careful with my words as the Church - the spotless bride of Christ is incorruptible - but the mortal trappings of the Church become so corrupt as to turn the stomach they may fear that they, having no where for confession, no where for mass, no where for communion will be bound for purgatory if not hell outright for failing to keep the sacraments.
Anger because anger is sadness with nowhere left to go. And when you watch something you love whither away and no matter how much you pray and do penance the decay just keeps on going. And when someone points that out, there is no ability to rationally deny it and you are faced with the sadness of having to accept. As if it were some sort Schrödinger's Cat where if they just hadn't looked, the Church might still be alive, but they looked and that is what killed the Church.
I have been thinking about this. Maybe this fear and anger are inevitable when you grew up Catholic and your perspective is so keenly focused on the Church - particularly the mortal trappings of the Church and you see that being stolen from you and are told to say thank you by the very robbers who are stealing it.
But God has always known this was going to happen. He knew before the first breath of Adam that this would happen. None of this is a surprise to Him. He will act in His time with His wisdom and His power to restore the Church as He pleases. And the Church does not dictate to the Lord who is to be saved and who is to be condemned. I mean truly if there were no where to receive any sacraments and one passed away, at judgment do think our Lord so hard-hearted that He would turn to the deceased and say "too bad, off to damnation"? "first I have heard of it"? or "I don't believe you"? Really?
Pope Francis and his handlers and his henchmen can scheme and plot and in the end, nothing they do matters to anything other than their mortal souls.

Just this morning after looking at one of Father John Hardon's definitions of Faith, p. 36, and looking at an opening page of the Baltimore Catechism No. 2 on required Catholic belief, pp. 20-11 and imprimatur etc. 1953-1962, Connell, Fearns, & Spellman, I again wondered why the Church has never proclaimed required belief in the Blessed Sacrament being the Real Body and Blood of Our Lord since so many clergy, teachers, and speakers speak of the Eucharist as the Source and Summit of our Faith. Even the Latin-English daily Missal I have (but no such Mass to go to) has no Creed that includes Eucharistic belief. You know, even the so-called Catholic University from which I graduated 2009 never even hinted that there might be such a proclamation. Only you! of a few I listen to online has even hinted at where one should look these days for Catholic truth. It was, of course, the Council of Trent's Tridentine Creed. K-12 I attended the Traditional Latin Mass but didn't then have an interest in Latin but loved the TLM boarding at my high school where only a handful of us attended. Religion there was hardly taught but influenced with feminism and a suggestion of the satanic (60-64). At my first Catholic University (just a college then) everything religious that I cherished was ridiculed and embedded with yoga, salacious novels for required reading, and immoral events (a California Jesuit-influenced institution). An Eastern Catholic University 2002-2009 was spiced with so much hatred for Humanae Vitae and minimizing of modernism for M.A.s in Theology and Educational Administration. This is the place I'd hoped to repair knowledge of my Faith. Some really good professors, faithful Catholics, left while I was already deeply invested in the program and battling some professors and administration. That institution won a $100,000 Vatican Award for orthodoxy shortly before I arrived in 2002. My purpose for attending was to do something good for God in education. Dr. Marshall, I hope you will make some videos on what Trent teaches as required Catholic doctrine and also make some Catholic seminary, university and lower education recommendations if you have any for the sake of parents. Thank you in advance and for all the effort and sacrifice of your family in what you've done thus far. You've been the most solid and consistent educator in my journey to learn.

If Catholicism were healthy, the Pope would publicly be warning all Catholic pharmacists and medical people to read moral theology books on cooperation in sin and when it is remote versus proximate and when it is formal versus material etc etc. None of the past three Popes did that. We are in some type of sleep. The fact that Popes did little to stop the first two pro choice politicians….Ferraro and the older Cuomo….meant we would now have over a hundred such pols now in the usa. Now as far as I know, the later Popes are seeking popularity over justice and truth. I did not know much about Pope John Paul the II. But I hope he could keep peace in the world during his papacy. Now, the Holy Father needs divine grace and prayer for himself to lead us. If he is holy and really seeks and yearns for Christ . . . I think he will be able to rule according to the will of God. But, if he spends more time in meeting with people especially with media . . . there are more ways to go astray.

I think the problem -- if "problem" is the right word here -- is that, beginning with Pius IX, the Church had a run of six absolutely amazing popes, all with relatively long reigns, and peaking with Pius X. It's not that the popes after Pius XII were NOT legitimate popes, it's just that, compared with the six I'm referring to, they're kind of mediocre to varying degrees. I believe Benedict XVI had enough humility to perceive the problem, and began to address it, but for whatever reason -- maybe because he was WWII-era German and thought that this undermined his authority in the world -- he didn't push it as hard and as relentlessly as he should have. Basically, Catholics were spoilt. We expect as of right something which was, in the 2000 year history of the Church, essentially an aberration. As it happens, Francis is the sixth pope since Pius XII. Maybe the pendulum is due to swing back.

It would be great for this to happen: Bring back the Latin Mass but in English (for this country anyway). Let the people here/feel/see the glory and honor due to our Savior in the holiness of this ancient practice--where transubstantiation can be witnessed and experienced; where the wonderful old music and lack of felt banners, and lack of guitars, and lack of extraordinary ministers will bring forth the true experience of the bloodless sacrifice of our Lord. Why they watered down the TLM (rhetorical question) is what has just about wiped out the Church. If the TLM is said in English, those on the fence will have to decide if 1. the Latin was the barrier 2. or if they really want to worship Jesus in this proper way. The modern world has been too far removed from this form of worship. With all the other detractors in the world, let alone the clowns in the vatican letting this happen, it would be hard to make the old Mass mainstream again. Only if it is in the true asking the Paraclete and praying for humility, grace, faith, and wisdom will this happen. People on this channel get it. But we need to reach out to the others so they have no excuse to belittle the TLM. And maybe if it is understood (my goodness, the English/Latin is right there in the missal) and they truly want this, it will happen. The parish in my town is a joke. New order. awful. I cannot even tell that it's a catholic mass most of the time. The handlers in the parish know there are the conservative older folks with money and they cater to them by doing sublime actions to make "us" feel more old school. I call B.S. At communion, they place two kneelers at the foot of the altar for those who wish can kneel and take the host. My daughter and I were the only ones at there that knelt and took our savior on the tongue. Everyone else side stepped them and took it in the hand. i am no saint. i am a sinner like anyone else. I go to confession often and just hope someday things will get better. If the clowns in the vatican have done this by design just before V2, then it must be a resistance that starts like the mustard seed and grow and pray to St. Athanasius for guidance. Because you will get no help from your local clergy (and deacons-ha)or bishop. Cannot despair. Never give up. Nil Desperandum. Satan is in the sanctuary.

I just heard the Jesuit America Magazine called you a Sede in a recent article about Priest formation being influenced by social media. You could technically sue them for defamation.

If God truly didn't want those men in the seat of Peter, they wouldn't be. We just have to trust in God's plan. His ways are not our ways. His thoughts are not our thoughts. We must Pray and have Faith in GOD. Especially when we don't understand.
