Thank you do for your video very informative and easy step by step. I am a 65 year old grandmother 👵 and I was able to fix and do my granddaughters tire bike due to your video
That makes me so happy to hear it!!!
Yesterday I found this video to get an idea how to use this product. I first tried to inject the slime, with the wheel on the bike, following all instructions. I found back pressure and the slime refused to inject. Next I tried the suggested hack and I put some air back into the tire. No luck! Next I removed the tire, took out the tube. Still no luck! I squeezed hard: only to have the plastic tube detach from the container and spray Slime all over the kitchen. I tried to blow air into the tire tube, to be met with resistance. With all obstructions apparently cleared, I was puzzled. As a last ditch effort I took a ear bud and poked the blunt end down deep into the valve. Sure enough, there was a resistance. A few pokes later this cleared. I tried again. Success!
So happy you figured it out. That’s an interesting situation you had there.
Perfect. Straight to the point, intuitively demonstrated.
I just ordered an Engwe Engine Pro electric bike and one of the first things I'm going to do during my assembly is add some slime to the tires. Your instructions removed all of the potential intimidation from the process. Thank you.
So happy to help!!!
Most informative and clear video on how to use this stuff
Hey, thanks Michael Matthews! I really appreciate it!
I've just added this to my mtb tyres at the weekend. I never removed the wheel or tyre.
After removing the inner valve and connecting the tube to the bottle and the outer part of the valve I could not get the slime to go into the innertube no matter how hard I squeezed the bottle. It just stopped flowing as soon as it reached the valve.
After alot of messing about I found that pumping just a little air back into the innertube I was then able to squeeze the contents of the bottle into the tube as intended.
If anyone else has this issue then give this a try.
Thanks for the video!
Great troubleshooting and insight! Thanks!
My current problem..will give this a go
Same I figured this would be the solution wish I had troubleshooted like you instead of just giving up
Tried the hack, didn't work. Guess the tires have to come off, hey ho
@@jamesdspaderf2883 yeah I couldn't ever get it to work either
Thank ypu for this wonderful video brother, very informative!!!
My pleasure!
This slime is great for your riding lawnmower, snowblower and your dolly. There is nothing like wanting to use something. Only to find flat tires.
So it has a air tire, I put slime in.
Absolutely!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Happy to have helped!
Thank you so much 😊 I saw a few others and maybe I missed the first part but u helped so much
Oh good! That's so cool to hear that!
Thank you sir for the help I’m trying fix wife’s bike and my bike I got the slime kit I’m 38 never learned till today
Big day!
Great tutorial!
Glad you think so!
Rock on Man! The only alternative beside this well presented procedure is to buy a pair of Tannus Armor or Airless Tires, which is more than I want to spend right now.
Great thoughts! Thank you!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Appreciated thoe homie, am fina go buy sum slime rn 😂
I got you.
Hey I followed the instructions, but the core remover from the cap fell apart, is there any other way to remove the core?
That happens to the best of us. I’m sure there is a higher quality one online. I’m not sure where though.
that patch looks neat. what type is it? and what glue did you use? thank you for sharing your DIY on sealant addition.
I use slime scabs for patching. No glue needed and much faster.
Putting some slime in my mtb tires just getting into bicycling again, and i lost both my tires to goat heads within a day 😂
Mine is white slime though
Goat heads are the worst!
Hi. Thanks for your content. Can I still pump the tire to the psi number on the rim even though now there is slime in the tube? Because the slime takes up air space I'm sure.
Yep, I treat it the same.
Thanks so much. You explained very well. I usually have to reinflate my tires after they sit for a while. Will the Slime still stay in the tires after reinflating on several occasions?
Glad to help! Yes it stays in the tire. Just give the tire a nice spin, inflate, then spin again. Might have to do this a couple times if it's sat for a while.
I'll also add, temperature can make your tire pressure change. Slime will help keep it from going flat, but colder temperatures may force you to add some air.
Very helpful video
Thankyou
Happy to help
Awesome video. How much slime would be used for 20 inch fat tires? Is there info on the container for that? Thanks
The bottle has the info on the label along with a measuring indicator on the side.
2:22 This part is very important
Impossible to slime without it.
Thankyou so much
Glad to help!
thanks
No problem
Nice well explained video. But I would have inspected the inside of the tire to see if there was anything that was penetrating the tire before re installing it.
Thanks for the tip
What if the tire has some of the sealants, and you get a partial flat? Do you pump some air back into the tire and reuse what's left inside of the tire or do you refill the sealant ?
In that situation, I’ve found its best to fill the tire with air and then spin the tire rapidly for a couple minutes. The slime will get spun around the tire and air will help it fill the puncture.
Why did you remove the tire and tube? Just dump it in while the tire is still on the bike.
Great question Greg!
I would normally do that, but I had to patch the tire first. I decided to record it at once.
Do i necessarily have to patch it
I have an e bike and it's s fucking pain taking out the tire
@@xtremeillusions8678 exactly what just happened to me
@@xtremeillusions8678 just tried it without taking the tube out or patching, works great!
Thanks
No problem
CAN I USE THRU CORE SLIME on my Cyrusher XF800 FatTire ebike ?? Pls lmk ASAP bro
You can use some I’m pretty much any tire. From cars to bikes, tractors to strollers.
Do u have to let the slime dry for a few hours before adding air back into the tube ?
Good question!
After adding the slime to the tube, there's no need to let it dry. Part of the way it works is it needs to stay wet so that it can coat the walls of the tube.
@@HowToThrifty cheers mate
I have slime and it works instantly my but make sure you bring a hand pump in your ride because you will add air and it pushes slime to the hole it take a minut or so and will seal it real good
Have one question why does mine does not want to keep the air i think it’s the valve any help or plz
It could be the valve. I in that situation, I usually find a bucket, add water. Then I’ll pump the tube outside the tire and then stick it in the water to find where it’s leaking. If it’s leaking at the stem or valve, pretty much need a new tube.
Does the valve stem always come out? I haven't bought the slime yet but im worried that my tube might not have a removable inner stem on the valve
Yes, the stem comes out. As far as I know, all tire stems have a removable inner part.
@@HowToThrifty thanks
@@HowToThrifty Unless they have a presta valve i'm not sure how those come out
They also come out, but I’ve never done it. I’m sure there’s a video on here for that.
Assuming if this was a small puncture you wouldn't have even needed to patch the front tire? The slime could have fixed it alone.
Yes, that’s right!
are you able to feel the slime inside when the inner tube is deflated???
Yes.
My biggest issue was that I couldn’t tell how much I put in or if I did equal amounts bc of the residue on the walls of the bottle.
I agree, that can make it difficult. I have used the larger bottles with the built in pump recently. They are easier as they’re one pump equals one ounce.
Little plastic teeth on the cap immediately broke off while trying to unscrew the valve stem. What a joke. Any advice to prevent this?
I've had the same problem. Luckily I had another cap that had the teeth.
I've been thinking about getting something like this:
amzn.to/44HVGeP
or this: amzn.to/3K1hIzF
Maybe I'll make a video...
Isn't removing the tube from the tire a lot better than doing it the second way. If you leave the tube in the tire you run the risk of a pinch flat if you're not careful
I think both are valid options.
Your son should be doing this lol good video tho
Working on it!!
the schrader valve stem remover that comes with the green slime kit is crap. I need to get a metal valve-stem remover instead
It's certainly not the highest quality. I've had issues removing stems on some of my bikes in the past.
I broke the tool on the lid. Any suggestions?
Sorry to hear that! I’m thinking your best bet is to find some needle nose pliers maybe. I’m pretty sure they sell a cheap till you can buy that does the same thing.
The tube needs to be in the tire so when you air it up you can ride the bike to spread the slime through out the tire
Agreed
Im the 700 likee😂
Awesome!
So u don't gotta use the whole tube of slime
Good question! Depends on the use, but I believe you can do 4 bike tires on this size bottle. It indicates the type of tire and how much to use on the container.
@@HowToThrifty o I c thank u perfect
I'm outing some I. My bike I get to work on my bike don't have a flat ATM don't want one either
It’s good to have!
you could of just took the valve stem off with the tire STILL ON
You're absolutely right! Much easier that way. While filming I had just patched a flat.
no need take the tire off/remove tube
Absolutely correct. I was repairing the tube already though.

Wrong instructions. Should have put tube back in first, then inflated the tyre with the valve out, let tyre down, put back in bike frame, add slime, pump tyre up with valve fitted and rotated the tire slowly. Spinning it fast will cause it to clump and not spread and run uniformly. Hope this helps for next time, cheers.
I’ve never heard that. The tire spins fast when you ride it though. If that’s the case, thanks for your input.
Why has he taken the tube out no deed to do that
Good question!
You’re absolutely right, no need to take the tube out. I however had to patch the tube first. I should have explained that in the video.
Thanks for asking!
The tools doesn’t work for me
Sorry to hear that!
What part is not working?
@@HowToThrifty removing the valve
@@uzairchowdhry4044 I'm sorry, if you're using the tool that comes in the cap to remove the valve, maybe the valve is rusted, corroded or something. I've done this to a couple dozen tubes and never had this problem.
I wish I had a better solution.
Maybe try this:
m.czcams.com/video/UynzNWfT9dM/video.html
Do you have a priests or shcrader valve
It you have presta the pointy one you just hand unscrew and insert it
Doesn’t work for me.
Sorry to hear it. Is the slime not going in the tube?
@@HowToThrifty I had to poke the tube with a drill bit to get the slime in. This happens frequently and idk why. The tube was not pre slimed. Yes I removed the Schrader valve first.
I wish I could tell you why. Someone else in the comments indicated they had some troubles also.
thanks
You're welcome!
