2:40 When tube is getting fixed
whatever is on my shirt is not sweat the shirt is in the trash now
Nick Mcdonald who cares bro, you make good content keep it up
Nick Mcdonald hey can I use Krazy glue ?
Nick Mcdonald cool story bro! 👍🏼
Dude I actually want to try this when I pop my tire! This looks so simple, love it dude🤘
Nick Mcdonald Will this method work on a valve stem?
It’s 6 year later and you’re still helping people. you sure helped me today, thanks 👍🏼
I used your super glue and paper method to fix a puncture on my road bike 3 days ago. It's still holding 100 psi. I'm amazed. :)
XDM50 yeah I run 80 in my BMX bike and it holds just fine
For real? How long did it last? I’d like to try it on my road bike that just got a puncture. But i don’t know if i can use it on long rides.
@@leftyseel8658
Only one way to find out - try.
( But bring a spare tube with you, in case of).
@@BarnacleBoyFishing it didn't stick for me lol not even for a week
Yep it works, used this method for the front tire 1 month ago, perfect seal. The back tire had a flat a few days ago, did same thing, still holding. I botched the first try of sealing the back tire, I used too much glue, it did not hold. It only takes one small drop right on the pinhole leak to do the trick, then apply a small patch of paper and light pressure. I Leave the paper on.
Now that it is impossible to find inner tubes and patch kits anywhere in the Chicago area ( due to the shut down everyone has been biking and hitting up the local bike and sporting goods store for supplies) your home made patch method is a great idea for all of us with flats!
I did this to an old bike I was ready to donate to goodwill and let someone else repair it. I rode it close to home occasionally and at 185lbs that I am and two months later, the tube still has 60psi. A step further I had to take a look see. I pulled out roughly twelve inches of deflated tube and saw that the glue actually formed a seal on the two holes. No cracking, just a smooth as glass bead of dry glue over the hole. I did use the Gorilla glue and allowed it to dry for about 10 minutes before inflating. I did donate it after the two months. Thanks for that tip.
Fix ur writing I don't understand
There's no bike shops open cause of the quarantine, so this literally saved me a 10 mile walk (with bike + groceries). Big thanks!
No problem!
@@BarnacleBoyFishing Any idea on how long will it last? almost 5 hs, so far so good. I'll be more than amazed if i holds till tomorrow.
Update: 2 years, several paper patches, no leaks.
@@trajtembergthanks dude
This is amazing, actually works! On holiday without a repair kit and this meant my 3 yr old boy could keep riding his bike. Thanks so much
I’m playing mechanic for my kids bikes today.. not something I’m very good at. But it’s try to fix it or no one rides bike this summer. I was adding tubes to my Walmart order and decided to try to patch myself.. about to give this a go! Thanks so much!
OMG I DID THIS AND IT ACTUALLY WORKED, thank you so much my dude
yea I knew there was some way to fix with super glue Im not buying another fucking tube TY
Nathan Sifuentez you are welcome I knew people could use it so I was like why not
I was thinking a repair kit basically just has some kind of glue and something to stick on top but a piece of paper is the last I thing would've thot of anyway I'ma give it a try
I have used cardboard pretty much anything I can find laying around
@@BarnacleBoyFishingBro i used a plaster and a tiny bit of glue before and it stayed pumped up untill i got another puncher in a diffrent place 😂😂
Great video and alternate tube repair idea Nick!
Super Glue alone will fix most leaks if they aren't too big. You just need to get it down into the hole so it can glue the rubber back together. Instead of paper you could also use a piece of an old tube or even a thick balloon to provide extra support to the patched area.
Thanks, it helps. While I don't have many holes. Good story comes!
Once I did a 10 000 km or 6K miles journey, without a kit.
After half way, I got one, in the middle of nowhere. It was fixed in half an hour, in a garage by nice Spanish people. Galvanized!
After I was riding in remote areas. Nothing for 10 miles or more. I have grown nervous. Finally, I bought a kit with 12 patches. I bought some food and gas for the camping stuff. After 10 minutes I found a perfect picnic place. I left the bike in the paved parking and had dinner a few meters away.
As I started my journey, I had a flat tire. The rear, of course. I fixed, and I had once again, noticed before take off. I checked in the creek. I had ..... 12 HOLES .... around the tube, evenly distributed !
Still today, I have no idea, how this is possible.
Luckily, I had a spare tube with one hole. I fixed that one, and I had no issues again, for thousands of miles! Tell me if pilgrimage is not spiritual.
I've just repaired my Brompton using the superglue and paper method and it works like a charm. This should be the industry standard for bike tube repair. We'll done for the life hack find 👏👏👏
Just did this 3 days ago, absolute brilliant, tire still holding air, found thorn and pulled that out. Could not run to bike store so used Krazy super glue, pumped to 50 PSI, all good!!
Literally didn’t believe this in the beginning luckily I had super glue so I tried it and I’m honestly so amazed works perfect thank you got your self a new sub and a like 👍🏼
j.j.I j.j.j.j.j.j.jjj.j j.lj.j.jj.j.j.j.and and and j,
Good thing for CZcams man. I was getting so frustrated trying to put a regular patch on it including slime. Yet it wouldn't hold air. But I searched on here and found your video. And it works really good man. Thanks! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😎
Awesome, My wife bumped into pavement with low tire pressure. Tube and tire both got 1/4 inch cut. Bought DAP($5.00) super glue from Menard. Applied DAP on Tire slit got cured perfectly outside and inside both. Put electric tape inside the tire to cover up uneven glue spot after an hour. Applied DAP on tube , then pressed piece of old tube on it. after an hour put all back on the rim. My wife biked 11 miles still air on it 100%. Great idea. Thanks DUDE. 👍👌🚲
Hey Nick...its been 15 min as I text this to you and so far tire still solid at 90 psi...I walked 5 miles to bike shop to fix my flat and I guess the employee didn't like his job because he failed as a professional bike mechanic to check the inner tire for sharp debris...I made it unaware back home to notice a flat again...thanks to you I checked and found the wire needle that punctured my new tube. Well 30 min now and still holding up...amazing! Thanks so much. Your trick is golden!
Angel Martinez I'm glad I could help 👍👍
Should have ridden back and complained to the store
Use fine sandpaper (100 grit) around the hole making sure the rubber dust gets into the hole. Next put tiny amount of Super Glue on the hole with the rubber powder in it. Biggers hole can be repaired the same way except put a 1" disc of old inner tube over the hole that has been covered with a light coat of Super Glue. Also if you are careful you can repair cuts up to a half inch with super glue.
Thanks bud! This got me out of a pinch and saved me some $$$. To find the leak, I just inflated the tire and sprayed it down with soapy water and sure enough it began bubbling up right where the very tiny leak was. Turned out to be a very small sliver of glass. I did this before pulling out the tube to see if the tube actually split open or if it's a legit puncture. Doing it this way, I was able to locate the puncture on both the tire and the tube at the same time, remove the glass and then just pull out that portion of tube and do your patch and pop it back in. Hopefully this helps someone in addition to your excellent patch hack!
this young man is a genius. it worked. thanks
I had a small hole like that too, and this video helped a lot, and it is cheaper and easier hell yea thanks man
No problem 🤘🤘
THANKYOU NICK,AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND GRANDMA!

this man deserves an award seriously thank you
Thanks bro my bike has been pumped for two years and I was like sick of it so I wanted to know how to patch my bike tube and boom you pulled up and then you help me and it hasn’t pop sense I love you so much and I’m gonna follow you
Honestly I didn't trust this method because superglue dries as a hard crystal and it would crack at the first spin, but I ran out of rubber glue and I had to try.
The result: It works!! It's been 3 days and there's not any leakage. I think I will not buy any fixing-kit again! this method is cheaper, easier and faster.
One advice: try to sand the surface before applying the glue, it will improve the adherence.
Thanks a lot dude!
Can I use clear gorilla glue?
@@gosulanre6669 did you try the gorilla glue ? Did it work ?
Worked on my mountain bike. Patched it and inflated yesterday, rode 40km today, tire is solid. Great tip, dude!
Thank u for your method I have already saved so much money because of u and whoever thinks it don't work they haven't tried it and like he said only on small holes on tubes
Just did this on my 2.50-10 Honda Spree Tire that holds 33psi and it seems fine for now. Coming from my tire shop experience... use that couple days to get a new tube, last thing you want is a flat tire on a highway or bush road
Thanks Nick! I've been riding bikes for 46 years and I never knew this was an option! Amazing! I subbed.

wow this was awesome! I bought some cheap clueless patches and they sucked. I didn't wanna go to the store again and spend more money. so I looked up ways and found your video. tried it and it work and holds. thanks man!

Great patching work bro keep up the great work

Thanks, Nick, for sharing this. My son's scooter has 6" tires with inner tubes, one of which had a hole in it. I tried three times to patch the hole using my regular bicycle patch kit, but each time the repair failed (probably because the scooter tires require such high pressure, 85 PSI). Luckily, I came across your video and I just tried your method, and it's holding fine at full pressure. I never would've thought of trying super-glue.
I needed to patch a tube and had nothing but super glue. I was skeptical that this would work. I also don't check the Inside of my tire. Well come to find outbI had two small leaks and a very small sliver of metal In my tire. Went through your whole process. And It worked fantastically.
Thank you for this video
Very clever. Thanks for sharing. Should be useful while touring.
Thanks Nick, never too old to learn from a young guy.

You are a genius and we need more people like that. Thanks man I’ll put that on my top list 😊👌🏾
Wow i actually save tubes that have smallish holes that i plan to patch later and just for kicks i tried this method and i now have 2 patched tubes not losing air anymore! The only reason i stopped patching more is i ran out of super glue lol! Thank your Sir and my small pile of punctured tubes would see a 2nd life soon! Cheers ^^
Just did this but with a piece of an old tube instead of paper and worked very well! One thing to note about using tube though, don't make the piece to big and don't use tons of glue because it will cause that part of the tube to not be able to expand. I did this on my first one and it made my tire wobble a bit because of the unevenness of that one part of the tube.
This is the Pro Tip. As you can see in this Confederate Loser (they lost the war) video, he barely puts any Super Glue on. Best bet to use as little glue as possible.
I'm gonna do this but with my tyre ill use my old tube it looks like a cut but it could be worn it's only 2 yrs... 💀 I'll cover it with the tube on both sides.
Oh I accidentally did that……
getting better and better with vlogs
finally succeed after a few tries!! bond paper dont stick well to the tube. So i used a thin cardboard, tear off some layer to make sure it is thin enough to be flexible, then a little sanding with 2000grit sandpaper. proceeded with the instructions and now my road bike tire is holding well
Thanks mehn I needed this
I could manage to fix my son’s bike, thank you for the video it was very helpful 🙏🏻👍🏻
back in my day we just used the packaging for the superglue. good enough to get you home.
thank you sir for keeping this video up your a gentleman and a scholar
nice man thanks its really work
Cool, thanks my man.good job, gonna give it a shot right now
this is the greatest hack I've ever done👍👍:-) :-)
I had a question and needed confirmation. I found the answer in a 7-year-old video. Thank you, Nick, for your assistance.
UNTIL TODAY THIS TRICK WORKS. LOVE !
Seems plausible in theory and my only concern would be the pretty good likelihood that water that gets into the tire will disintegrate the pulp fibers of the paper. Also I have learned to use a very soft rag to detect any sharp protrusions inside the tire as it is much easier on the fingers. Thanks for illustrating the importance of a correctly aligned air stem (especially in aggressive moto-cross riding because that reduces the chance of cutting the valve base with the edge of the rim hole during a jump, etc. The flag is a concern to some folks and I get that so if it detracts from your message it might be something that could be covered so as not to distract viewers.
Might also suggest putting a piece of cardboard over the pool table to keep the felt cuts to a minimum. Thanks for the video and keep up the good work.
Great Video man Thank You!
Jean C Louivil you are welcome!
great video! I subscribed
I have to admit...I didn't think it would work! But it did.. unbelievable! Your terrific coming up with this tip.. anymore tips? Thanks.
Dude this helped me big time. I did this diy patch this morning and tasted it out a couple rides and it's still holding. That is one really Good idea and smart as hell! A money saver for sure!
@Aghilas I was just going to my old comment to give an update. And dude it's been a good month n a half and still using that super glue n paper. I'm just mind boggled that it still holds. Now it's held from jumping off curbs, riding wheelies n slamming the tire back down. This young man has saved me money and other people so he's awesome as shit in My book!!!!
Your truly amazing. Have an awesome attitude and personality ❤ patched mine and has held for months. 🚲👍🏻
Nick good vid, yea i had that crooked valve once and used a smidge of washing up liquid on the valve stem, then wiggle it a bit and it usually comes straight again. have a good day now, Pete (uk)
Awesome thanks for the help. I knew there had to be a cheaper, easier quicker way than doing it the old patch method. Keep up the great work with new school methods using household items! Peace!
you patched with tire inflated? Think Hi Strength 3m contact adhesive will work too?
The only thing I changed with this is take one old tube, and cut it up for lots of patches instead of the paper. Works well.
Same
Haha I do the same
The paper is not used as a patch. No patch material is required in this method. The paper is only to use during the sealing of the glue and to not get it on your fingers. This method needs no patching material as long as it's a pin hole size or close.
Thank you to every single one of you in this thread as well! Sliced off a tiny piece of an old tube, patched it to the puncture together with crazy glue, and I’m rolling again!
Dose it last long
Hey man if you see this nice haro I'm fixing the bearings on my back hub right now on my haro and I have the same problem my tube popped and it super small hole and this is gonna help alot man thanks

Ricky Spanish you are welcome
your a genius man when i ride my motorized bike like 30 40 miles out and get a flat it sucks one day this could save me man!
Great video... Thanks
An alternative to paper: superglue + electrical tape. I keep a roll of tape in my saddlebag; the bonus is that if you have a tire blowout, wrapping it in electrical tape can buy you enough miles to get back home or to your car.
Second this, I ended up here as that's my normal method but I've rang outta electrical tape so was looking for other options. Bout to go ahead and give it a bash
Can you do this with duct tape?
@@samhain7548 Probably, but I haven’t tried it. Electrical tape is fairly puncture-proof. I’ve started lining the inside of my tires with 2 layers of electrical tape (between the tire and the tube). Haven’t had a single flat tire on the last 2 sets of tires (5200 total miles so far).
Nick what camera are you using? I like the quality.
I'm late sorry si many hate comments I dont check much but it's a Panasonic g7
I love your video so much I hope you don’t stop making video about bike because I need to learn from you how to fix my bike
It WORKS!! Thanks dude
He has a big hole in the wall he's trying to patch too?
It worked on patching my dirt bike tube so fare thanks man
This guys a stinkin genius I can’t believe this worked how crazy
Just FYI: Superglue is NOT recommended for patching inner tubes because it eats/degrades rubber and certain plastics. I tried this out of curiosity and it only lasted one day, granted your mileage may vary but if you use super glue eventually it will fail. Ideally you should just buy a new tube but if you must patch it for an instant fix then use either rubber cement or a plastic/rubber safe quick setting epoxy.
Ok safety bob, lol
Dude thanks. Im broke as fuck right now this is the ghetto magic i was looking for
Kyle Hendrickson lmao thanks man ! It's cool to help out
