My drummer buddy was at the King Tut's gig. He'd got word that Alan McGhee was going to be there, so he placed his bands demo cassettes and flyers on each table early on. After Oasis turned up - unannounced and not on the bill - and played their set, he picked up every tape & flyer, put them back in his bag, went home and quit the band.

When Alan McGee had his breakdown in '94 he said Liam was the only person in the business to care enough to visit him & see how he was doing. He talked about Liam's emotional intelligence & how he's always been misunderstood. Btw Liam's song Misunderstood is another great one to check out.

Spencer & Daniel I watched both of the documentaries, this and the Knebworth one, both made me feel very emotional about them and that time, Oasis are very important to many people I will always love how they make me feel and how important they were at that time for me.

Well said my man. That’s pretty much how I feel about Oasis. I find it very sad the two brothers that brought joy to millions upon millions dont even talk any more. Even if they didn’t put oasis back together I would like it if they made up. I think its just noel holding the grudge but at the same time Liam keeps saying stuff that doesn’t help the situation.

Now u guys see why we love them so much. It’s not just the tunes, it the whole story. The way it all came together. Sort of “accidental rock stars”. They are the greatest not just bc of the music but the way they went about it. They just didn’t take themselves too seriously.

You NEED to watch "Noel Gallagher & The Masterplan Conspiracy" by James Hargreaves Guitar here on CZcams and you'll realize Morning Glory and all of it's B-Sides are connected to the Talk Tonight Girl and all of them are autobigraphical
It will absolutely f*cking blow your mind
That all the songs are about one year of Noels life
It will give you a completely new perspective and you'll never look at that album the same ever again
I know it's over 1 1/2 hours long but you will not regret one second you spend watching it👍🏻
(Also: Neither Bonehead nor Guigsy were kicked out, they left the band during the recording of SOTSOG; And you didn't even notice Liam singing Sad Song in 1994 in the background, you can find that isolated snippet on CZcams as well as a clip of him singing Step Out)

King Tuts in Glasgow is Glasgows version of the Cavern Club. Anybody that is worth knowing has played there. That night they got signed, the stars just aligned.
I think a similar thing happened with Nirvana. They were playing to a room of 50 or so people, with half of them talking by the bar. They just got lucky that a manager from a record label, that was supposed to be at another gig, had his original gig cancelled an hour or two before and ended up being one of the 50 people in that room. If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be.

I don’t think that what Liam describes about standing absolutely still on the stage has anything to do with it being a ”power move”. I think he is just describing the rare feeling of control for someone with impulsivity and attention problems like him (and myself and many others).
Liam is basically just describing ADHD (which he has later also explicitly mentioned and admitted that he most probably has):
One of the very few situations where a lot of people with ADHD experience some kind of inner calm and feel somewhat in control of their attention and impulses is in situations like e.g. when you are standing on the stage with the music roaring and the crowd jumping up and down singing along, i.e. a situation where there is something external that actually manages to drown out a substantial part of the (usually mostly innate) constant stream of ”ADHD noise” inside your head (this is also why e.g. listening to white noise help a lot of people with ADHD, as has been confirmed by recent research that also suggests several neuroscientific explanations for why this is the case). And this is one of those very rare experience that can (in many cases) make someone with ADHD feel in control of his/her attention and impluses, which is generally such a rare and amazing feeling for (unmedicated) people with ADHD that they would commonly it as the best feeling in the world.
This is also kind of what ADHD medication does, and it is also the reason why undiagnosed people with ADHD often self-medicate with amphetamine and other similar drugs.

It's a young man's game. You can't sprint forever, your body won't allow it. Oasis were on a sprint. What oasis really want is to see a new band that catches an entire generation, one that makes people feel, one that captures the energy of the generation. Seeing oasis perform again would be good, but they are not spring chickens. Where is the new young bands. It's all computer ai generated manufactured tedium now. We need a band that gets everyone emotionaly connected. It's like a religion.

I’m not sure if it’s still up and running but Craig Gill who was the drummer in Inspiral Carpets used to run music tours in Manchester until he sadly passed away a few years ago. It was called Manchester Music Tours and I think one of his family members may have taken over the day to day running of the business after his passing. Might be worth a look if you are planning a visit to Manchester in the future and would like to explore its musical heritage

Liam was an absolute tool. I went to one of their concerts. Liam had been in court all day for headbutting a 19yr old fan who asked for a photo. So half way through the show, he swears, says goodnight and walks off stage. Show over. He played just the minimum required to make sure they didn't have to refund money. Then Noel sang one song and that was it.

Talking about drummers out of time reminds me of the story about when Brian Eno was producing U2 (Pop, I think). They were experimenting and playing around a drum machine loop but Larry Mullen wasn't getting it, it wasn't working and Larry said that the drum machine was out of time. Eno thought he was just blaming the tech, checked the drum machine and it was 0.16th of a second out. Larry is a drummer with perfect natural timing and can tell!!!!

Imagine this for second: Tony McCarroll gets told he's out of time in the studio. He immediately begins playing all Oasis songs with a click track in his ear for two hours a day. Within a week he's got the hang of it. The recordings shape up. He carries on the routine, every day he possibly can, and soon enough becomes a human metronome. Fast forward a few years, Noel is joking on interviews (with Tony sat there laughing) about how he thought about sacking Tony a few years ago, but now he's got the best timing of any drummer he's ever met. Tony leaves, gets in his Porche 911 and goes back to his mansion with electric gates and a fountain in the middle of the drive.

Thank Bonehead just as much. He was the instigator for a lot of Liam's antics.

Noel had been writing songs for years theres a 4 song demo tape of noel from 88 on CZcams the songs are bad. I bought a c.d in 95 with no known songs apart from fade away without lyrics theres a few great tunes on there and 2 songs that noel later used to make 4 out of one of the songs was a demo of lock all the doors noel used solo. Thats now on CZcams

In 1994 in the uk there was no internet, Oasis were an underground band for people in the know until they appeared on tv. I saw them in Portsmouth at The Wedgewood rooms in 1994 and they were amazing, they became big because they were amazing.
