@@La4geas he never passed turn with the elk on the field, he just sacrificed goat for elk, then elk for goat, ending on goat once the right number of bones were acquired.
Imagine hitting a respawning goat 50 times with a canon while your crew run away and attack your ship one last time which results in your ship being destroyed
It's a way to make the skullstorm achievement easier. You need to get through all the hell that you get in that mode but at least if you get to the final boss you are more or less guaranteed to make it.
Mind you, the ship has twice the total health of the moon. The mutiny mechanic is to make it so you actually can do the amount of damage needed because overtime it will wear down your deck unless you have an infinite combo.
Maybe another run idea is to try and getting every card of a tribe to make a tribe play. Canine is a hard one because most of the cards are 2 blood cost or 4 bones.

Have you tried a "no discard" run? Where you are unable to remove cards from your deck via any event? Including Sigil transfer, campfire, bone lord sacrifice, mycologists, even the trader?
Dearest Exxo... I am writing to you once again, in order to give you a potential challenge... Do you believe its possible to finish a left only run? (A run where you gotta choose left at every option). If you think that's way too luck based I recommend trying the no squirrels no sacrifices run I did a while ago. (Very fun). Good luck!
you could have farmed up some bones by using the Goat to place the unkillable Elk and the Elk to place the Goat ad nauseum until you had enough bones and end with the Goat on the board.
That's what he did if you watch his bone count at the end of the fight (without the loop he'd lose 2 bones per turn but he loses less than that), he just didn't do it enough times
I did not know that the crew could join you and they're skeleton cards from act 2, I just always use the brush and remove the crew and thought that was it
That black goat -> cockroach made me get an idea - what if you make an unkillable rabbit or field mouse or something, and just fill the entire board every turn?
Not saying he's a bad boss by any means, I really like the fight, but Royal is definitely super easy. Having 2 mole seamen can be a bit difficult to deal with, but that's basically the extent of the difficulty. The Limoncello's crew mutinies, he stops playing cards after a short while in phase 2, his cannon attack is just a weaker Prospector attack (and it helps you since it targets both sides), and he even gives you free cards at the start of phase 2
did you somehow cheat bone tokens during last few rounds 8:40 ? you were already at one and the max you could get is 2 more like in the final round. but there is a cut every time you place a card. and somehow you have 5 tokens. Just curious
@@Exxo why do you still have an elk at the end then Like your whole video is just about nothing but misplays you know you have items you didn't make any game-winning condition cards how the f*** did you even play the story mode without understanding The Core Concepts to the game this was infuriating to watch
Wtf is this clickbait? You actually damaged the ship with the Spiky sigil. The point of this challenge is to ONLY use the skeleton crew for damage and nothing else. Looping the Goat by itself is fine but using its Spiky sigil is not. Can anyone try this challenge for real this time?
I don't think you understand how the game works. Not only are there not enough skeletons that spawn to add up to 80 damage, but also you need to do damage to the ship to even spawn them in the first place.
Imagine shooting a cannon at a goat and it somehow damages your ship
It would honestly make me jump ship too tbh
hence the expression: "the GOAT"
R I C O C H E T
"SHIVER ME TIMBERS! THE GOAT BE TOO POWERFUL!" - a skeleton pirate, probably
maybe they put too much force into shootin' them cannons therr
I find it crazy that you "beat" him exactly at the moment you ran out of bones for the cockroach cycle.
the third card he had in his deck was an unkillable elk. so he just cycled with cockroach -> goat -> elk -> goat -> elk... to farm some bones.
@@okfine9077 But the elk would attack the ship on its own
@@La4geas he never passed turn with the elk on the field, he just sacrificed goat for elk, then elk for goat, ending on goat once the right number of bones were acquired.

I dit this with the moon to get a lot of rabbit around it.
The fact that he softlocked himself after doing this is hilarious.

i like how the crew bails on him even though you literally have no defense and are relying on them
kinda fitting being on starvation mode, starving mid sea or dying of scurvy was pretty common then.
Royal himself did die of scurvy
Leshy should make fun of Royal by playing starvation cards at the end if the player softlocked themself, but changing the names to scurvy
I never understood why this boss was a skull challenge. His skeletons joining your side gives you infinite ammunition, making it pretty easy

2x health and attack
Bringing a goat to a cannon fight

what a loyal crew Royal has, surely they won't ever mutiny against him~!
