  • It is estimated that our current food systems are responsible for roughly 50% of greenhouse emissions. And it’s been noted that the average plate of food in Canada has traveled over 3000 kms. This is a sign that our food system is broken and needs to be fixed. We all need to think differently as a society to support our community while minimizing our carbon footprint. Alex started a career as a chef working around Vancouver and has spent time working in Michelin star restaurants overseas. He is currently a partner of a grocery delivery company, whose mission is to provide consciously sourced ingredients for the consumer. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
