Every swinger I've known was about as attractive as the average employee at the DMV. They tend to have dull personalities and a real needy energy about them.

I, at 21, had the opportunity to take a free cruise with a couple buds. There was literally dozens of offers to swing. Every single person was at least double our age, some triple. I used to be with someone who was very much into that scene. Sexual experiences like swinging/swingers clubs have been happening for millennia, sex was a very popular commodity back in the days of the Roman Empire, Victorian Era etc.. because it allowed the poorer people in societies to earn a living. These days mainly in America sex has become far too expensive and more dangerous. In Amsterdam's Red Light District it used to be around $80-$120, now it's at $180-350 depending on where you go. Sex is a natural thing for us to do and appreciate but these days all of it has changed and not in a good way.

I took a course in abnormal psychology in college. The instructor stated that people who are normal have monogamous relationships between a man and a woman, it is the healthiest lifestyle psychologically. My opinion on sex parties/orgies/swingers/etc. is this: As long as everyone is over 18, consenting, & are enjoying doing whatever tickles their fancy, then I'm happy knowing that they're having a good time. I'm not particularly interested in these activities & I've never personally been party to such events, but it's nobody's business what consenting adults do with/to each other.
I feel the exact same way about religions, sexual preferences, skin color, & pretty much everything else. There are 2 things that I wish could somehow be regulated though...
1) People should have to be properly educated, informed, consenting & proven capable of having & raising children (aka "we need a lifeguard at the Gene Pool" theory lol)
2) Politicians being limited to a certain amount of time in office, a salary cap, and criminalizing the act of voting for themselves to get a raise, especially when they keep cutting funds on important things & shutting down government workers due to our ridiculously immense amount of debt.

With regards to politicians, the issue is that most of those things aren't actually the source of political corruption. The main issue with politicians is the fact that every wealthy and powerful organization or entity who has a vested interest in an issue will bribe the representative one way or another in order to have them vote according to their desires. AKA, Lobbying. That's why, ironic and backwards as it may seem, there's actually evidence to suggest politicians being better paid actually *reduces* corruption and results in better political representation. Obviously, though, that's not ideal, as paying politicians an exorbitant amount of money in the hopes that companies aren't willing to bribe them even more doesn't really track.
This is compounded by the fact that, important consideration, if you need to get your name out and have thousands of people vote for you to win a seat in office, how do you do that? Obviously, advertising. How do you get that advertising? You pay hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars to campaign. You're not going to get that solely via donations. If you want to have success, you have to accept "Generous donations" from these same wealthy entities who have a vested interest in certain decisions being made. End result, it's literally impossible to become a politician, specifically in the U.S., without already being corrupt by the time you win the seat.
Now, I'm not saying I know the solution. I don't. But the single biggest thing that would "Fix" the political system instantly would be if the most powerful players in the economy were incapable of directly interacting with our political figures. How do you achieve that? No clue. Perhaps make a political campaign fund paid by taxpayer dollars, and ban all private or donated funding. Sequester all Federal politicians and their direct families in a dedicated section of Washington D.C. until their time in office is up, with no direct access to anyone except government employees? Perhaps, though maybe a bit extreme. Allow for politicians to make incredible amounts of money, based upon approval ratings and other positive metrics of their constituents, in order to encourage pursuing the needs of the people above all else? Just spitballing ideas. Maybe some that are particularly dystopian, but maybe that's what's necessary. Either way, the primary source of our political woes come down to who *really* pays the paycheck of our politicians, and it has nothing to do with their official salary.

There is no way on earth this behaviour can be considered psychologically normal. It's just like some total malfunction in the human brain, the same way some people's brains reward them for killing someone. People say 'it's harmless, it's a safe environment' - but the bottom line is, a lot of people in those kinds of environments are most likely suffering from psychological problems (I know this from meeting people who participate in this kind of stuff) and it's sad that it's just enabled by one another. If you respect people and have empathy, you simply would not participate in this kind of stuff because you know the potential damage you care causing. It'll be full of narcissists and people with personality disorders.
