- Äas pĆidĂĄn 4. 08. 2024
- r/TIFU In today's episode, OP experiences what can only be described as a date from hell. He hooks up with a girl, and in the middle of the night she starts acting really weird. He kicks her out, and she collapses in the hallway of his apartment complex. He then drags her lifeless body to the front desk to get help. The paramedics arrived, and she was clinically dead for a few minutes! Luckily they were able to revive her, and then the girl asked OP for a second date.

I'm currently in psycho therapy. Let me tell you one thing: Crying is good, healthy, relieving. Crying is normal, so don't hold your tears back. It's not a weakness. Showing vulnerability is an incredible strength not many posess.
I 100% believe in this but at the same time, I question it when some people cry over everything at the drop of a hat.
Bottling emotions is not good at all. if you have issues just talk to someone
The only tears you should hold back is yawns.

I first thought: stroke.
But now idk
he should have called the ambulance.....wtf is he doing
I was think maybe she was on some kind of psych meds and she was drinking trying to get laid and the psych meds and alcohol didn't mix well. Based on her response, it seemed like she took that calculated risk to drink before and realized that "temporary death" is a possible side effect that she's okay with. đ€·đżââïžđ€·đżââïž Either way....no bueno.

@@insideAdirtyMind Iâm gonna assume this is america, yeah if I can try to fix it without paying 30k Iâll try it.
The whole "men don't cry" thing needs to be thrown on the trash heap now. It's stupid and leads to so many issues.
Yep. Also, crying isn't neccesarily bad. I teared up when my Sister gave me a birthday card (She lives in the US and I'm in Europe). It was so amazing to read that even now I am tearing up.
It's genuinely not okay to have something like this where men show no emotions. It should be encouraged to have emotions and not be robots, but well ig that's too much to ask.
It's Iran, I suppose that this things happen regularily there
Talk to the rest of the women then. We're expected to be strong, to not show weakness. Which is fine, it's how many of us were raised. We're taught to protect our loved ones, and that's a very useful trait, but these days we're expected to be everything to everyone at all times, and then attacked for being male in the first place.
Plus, crying actually helps you feel a little better because it releases endorphins in the brain. If you need to cry, then do it because it will actually help you feel better.
Absolutely! đŻđŻđŻ
Elevator girl- my wife had similar episodes minus the stopping breathing when she was on some medication years ago. Sheâd order things from qvc , rearrange her flat furniture without remembering a thing . She also used to see cameras watching her from behind speakers , people watching her in public and hear knocking on the door but nobody was there . It all stopped after her meds were changed .

@@digitalharmony26 when my dad was 18 he was prescribed a medication for acne, and during that week he started having random bouts of temporary blindness that were slowly becoming more frequent and longer lasting as the week went on. Luckily he had a good doctor that really cared about their patients, because they read a bunch of studies about that medication and found that the blindness was an extremely rare side effect. I had a diabetic uncle who did literally the exact same thing that was caused by his diabetes. It didn't last as long because my aunt knew how to handle it but yeah... Definitely a medical emergency.
Hard to say for sure, OP said she left him a long voicemail later crying and apologizing repeatedly which were some of the same erratic behaviors she had during the event, and seems odd since she apparently doesn't remember what happened. She might have mental health issues on top of whatever medical emergency she had, poor girl either way but I don't blame OP for not wanting to get involved in that. So as for the first story, a diabetic attack sounds really realistic there. I have a diabetic friend who I once had a similar situation with, where he just randomly started acting crazy, saying things that didn't make sense, ect. then had no memory of it later that day when we finally got things figured out.
See my friend only ever had that happen once while I was around, but the absolute worst thing about that time was that we where both in the middle of an acid trip when it happened. We where hanging out with a mutal friend, all 3 of us kinda zoned out as the trip was reaching its peak, then my friend starts asking what time it is over and over again. Like to the point where the two of us where like "um, dude. Its been 20 seconds. Like I know time is weird right now, acid and what not, but like come on dude...." It was around then we just started assuming that he was having a bad trip, so we where just trying to do regular things with him, calm him down, get his head back in the right place, but like he kept going on and on about things that where just too much for out zoinked out minds to handle. We all end up getting stressed leading to the two of us both runnning around the house, confused, wondering if we should call the hospital and out ourselves so save our friend when my other friend looks at me like a light bulb went off and said "wait! Fuck! His pump, check his pump!"
At that time my friend had an electric pump that would automatically give him insulin when he needed it. Welp, turns out that the batteries to the pump just so happened to go out at the same time we took the acid, meaning that by the time it kicked in my friend was actually dealing with the negative effect. Once we figure that out my friend and I then have the physically hold down the diabetic friend so that we can get a hold of his pump long enough to change the batteries without pulling it out of them, and as soon as we do it lights up, does his thing, then my friends starts very, very slowly coming back to us as we finally calm the fuck down. My diabetic friend then passed back and forth for about 20 minuets with the two of us just looking after him, exausted. Then my diabetic friend got really quit, went over to the couch, sat down in complete silence for a few minuets, then looked at us completly normal and asked "What the fuck just happened?" to witch we got to catch him up on the whooooole event.
Anyway, thats the story of the last time I took acid! hahaha. It is definitely a trip I will not forget!
Yep! I just checked the post, that's mainly what I think happened
I assumed she has mental problems and is on meds, so she shouldn't have been drinking and drinking on her meds messed everything up.
Sounded a lot like alcohol and Ambien or alcohol and a similar sleep aid.
As an FYI, you can call an ambulance in any drug-related circumstance & you won't get charged. Say you & a friend have taken something & your friend happens to overdose, if you ring an ambulance you cannot be charged with any drug-related offences. Years ago people would just let their friends overdose in fear that they would be charged with drug possession, which lead to a lot of younger people dying when they could've easily been saved. Just remember that paramedics are there to save people's lives, they don't care what drugs you may have taken. Just be 100% honest about any previous circumstances to them, as it will only help them to be able to better treat the patient. They aren't the police & they don't care what laws you may have broken.

This one day, maybe two months into dating, an entitled kid and his entitled parents took the table next to us and within minutes, were kicking up a fuss. The kid threw a tantrum, the parents behaved awfully with our friendly servers... At one point, he leaned over and whispered, 'if our kid ever behaves like that, he will have hell to pay for'... I lowered my book and replied, 'hell will have to wait it's turn, he"ll have to deal with me first'. With that, we went back to our book/game. Ten minutes later it suddenly dawned on the both of us... Did we just agree to have a child together? Yeah... So... We are getting married then?... Looks like it!

I would NOT tell her, Iâd want as little contact with her as possible after that and telling/ explaining to her what happened is gonna take time. If she doesnât remember itâs really not his problem. I mean he was probably panicked and terrified
I mean it's obvious she likely had a bad reaction to mixing whatever meds she was taking with alcohol. If she's a sweetheart while sober and not ODing on whatever cocktail of drugs she was on that day, I'd say it's her right to know how she was and how she affected this dude. Anyone in their right mind would want to know and likely feel bad.
@@BirdBrainViz She would have been told about the med alcohol mix going badly in the hospital, unless the doctors and nurses where ALL incompetent...
Which most likely happened, but was ignored by her, either intentionally or not, if it wasn't intentional, she shouldn't have been allowed to leave the hospital, but transfered to a mental asylum.
She is a danger to herself and others, and with her actions deeply traumatized OP!
@@BirdBrainViz why do you people constantly assume itâs drugs and not some undiagnosed medical issue? Hell, even if it was drugs that would somehow make someone unworthy of knowing what happened that night? How?
Honestly hoping the girl from story 2 is doing well nowadays. The situation was shitty, sure, but "date from hell" usually implies the other person made the conscious decision to be awful, where this sounds like an unfortunate medical incident. OP has a right to dis/continue interacting as they wish, but a little more understanding in hindsight wouldn't hurt.

That 1st story: they started using he and him without ever specifying a person first. I knew it was the old man before the other neighbor even came knocking, but still, how do you just lose an important sentence like that?
What?????
@@mattybrunolucaszeneresalas9072
How do you think that's a sufficient enough question?
@@Richard_Nickerson he and him referred to the old man! Obviously how does the order matter??
@@mattybrunolucaszeneresalas9072
1. Liking your own comments is pathetic.
2. You clearly misunderstood what's happening here. The OP never said anything about the old man before simply referring to him as he and him. Grammatically, they were more likely referring to the neighbor that came to talk to them about the smell than the old man.
The order in which things are referred absolutely DOES matter in language.
The OP in the story with the girl in the elevator probably saved that girls life in all honesty. If she had been home alone and went through whatever medical event she went through she may not have survived.
Mad props to the guy with the proposal. Glad the cards were good enough to keep or else he would have a whole new problem!
Crazy doesn't even sum up that girl. The fact she blew it off after the fact says something. she is either THAT BS crazy, this has happened before or both.
Not enough information to make any valid decision. My next door neighbor (when lived in base housing years ago) took a fall severe fracture of his skull..was dead when they landed him at the hospital..induced coma, steel plate as part of his skull and so on. He basically ignored any questions other than to say he had been dead casually because he remembered none of it.
It's pretty easy to be pretty casual and matter of fact when, to you, the event never happened.
Daily reminder that you are loved and appreciated even if you donât know it

From what I could tell OP thought she was faking and not really unconscious
That "safety dance" you did on your stairs really hit home for me. I have no idea how I'm still alive outside of emergency medicine...
I almost choked to death laughing on the story of you falling đđđđ
I genuinely feel bad for that girl. She's being treated like shes psychotic when something CLEARLY happened that was completely beyond her control. It sounds like something serious happened medically and now shes being treated like a monster by this guy and anyone who reads his side of the story.
I donât think he was treating her like a monster lmao you might be reading too into it and applying your own issues. Itâs 2am and a strange girl is behaving irrationally and heâs rightfully afraid for his safety. Unfortunately the world isnât a fairy tail and he isnât required to be a shining knight. Anyone would expect them to leave. His real fuck up was not just calling emergency services regarding this off the bat but proper actions in the moment arenât common
@@theflyer5920 Nah Error Fox's opinion is pretty much right. The girl was having a medical emergency and you can say it was 2 AM and it was a "strange girl" but OP had been seeing her often, granted not on a one on one basis but he knew how she acted and up until the point he was awoken in the middle of the night and how she wasn't aware of what she was doing, something should have clicked in his head that something was wrong. Also he said she lived in a condo just like his she "KNEW" how condos worked yet in that moment she didn't have any clue. This should have set him off to something be wrong. Was it okay that he kicked her out, sure, that's fine but when she fainted he should have stopped what he was doing and called emergency services right then. What was his game plan with the elevator? Like Was he just going to roll her into the lobby and leave her? OP seems sort of like a douche bag and he is viewing her medical episode as her being mentally unstable and is basically telling strangers on the internet about this "crazy" chick who turned into the devil at two in the morning then nearly died and the only thing he cared about was how guilty he looked because he tried to shove her body into an elevator. Honestly if you break it down it's kind of fucked up. Like he didn't even bother to ask the paramedics what hospital they were taking her to and he didn't call the hospital to check up on her. He made no attempt to make sure she was okay and just assumed she died and he would be going to jail.
Then how shoule he have reacted?
@@anonymousneko7908 She should have kicked her out if he didn't feel safe. Then after she passed out. He should have stopped, used his head and called 911 that is what he should have done.
@@theflyer5920 he completely cut her off afterwards. I'm not talking about how he reacted DURING the situation- I'm talking after.

So that bang on the marble floor legit killed her for a few minutes, and she miraculously survives and has no recollection of it. Not to mention she was partly insane (most likely had double personality disorder) I can't imagine what he was going through that night.
Draging an unconscious person out and away from your house, and into a lift, is not a bad thing! As a woman who has lived alone for most of the time, do what you have to do to get a dangerous person out of your house. And no, don't leave them on your doorstep, you get them *away* from your save place.

To the boss who fired op for crying;
SCREW YOU!!!!!
I'm pretty sure that boss can be sued for unfair dismissal.
My friend died recently and when I found out I broke down crying at work. My boss gave me the day off and then helped me rearrange the schedule so that I could take the week off to fly down for the funeral without using any vacation days. The week is almost over and I don't want to go back to work because I'm usually the king of malicious compliance. I'm the one that's always fighting the man. But now I feel like I owe him for what he did and I don't think things can go back to normal.

Everyone says redheads have no souls, but it's not true! They actually get a freckle for every soul they steal.
Actually, I think OP did the right thing dragging that girl down to the lobby.
Granted, he probably wouldn't have been charged with "doing her in", but now there's a witness and camera footage to how insanely weird this all was. Not to mention, she's now closer to the doors and the EMTs don't have to ride up in the elevator.
He should have been calling 911 before she ever passed out. Something was clearly very wrong and he just kicks her out? Massive asshole.
She fell and hit her head on the marble floor in a place she wouldn't have been if he hadn't of dragged her there! You don't drag someone that faints like that. He should have been charged with something for that. It's not like he was acting to save her life. He just wanted her gone.
@@fittik4554 how do you know he dragged her by her feet?
So, in your opinion, he should have just called 911, told them there's a woman passed out on his floor, and gone to bed?
@@wingracer1614 nah, if there's a crazy woman in my apartment accusing me of shit, the last thing I'm going to call is 911.

@@Nerobyrne where in my comment did I say he dragged her by her feet??? Idk how he dragged her but he did to an elevator. That's what the story is about. And in my opinion he should have called 911 explained what happened and followed their guidance. Please don't put words in my mouth. Also his intent wasn't noble. Do you think that like being like oh hell no you're leaving one way or another and dragging her to the elevator with the intent of leaving her there is the right way to handle it? He didn't leave her because someone else was in the elevator but he planned on it.

That girl was either on drugs or off meds. Or some combination of the two.
You'd be surprised how many illnesses present with suddenly onset psychological symptoms, such as mental breaks or personality changes.
This can be one of the only warning signs of a stroke, aneurysm, or some mineral or hormone imbalances.
Most of these can be deadly if not caught very early.
First OP should definitely take a first aid class just for their own peace of mind lol. Poor guy.
Imagine you're walking out to the elevator with a girl and she just.... *_ded_* and falls flat face first into the ground, with just a comicaly loud "thud"
The âbodyâ dragging dude may have been freaked out but he was pretty cold, and kind of a dick. He could have like called the hospital to see how the girl was. Yeah the experience is weird but she could have some neurological issues that caused her to behave so eradicably. He didnât have to want to keep seeing her, but like some common human decency would have gone far in this situation.
I have a feeling that the girl may have been schizophrenic or having a psychotic episode. Iâm not a professional but itâs clear she was hearing or seeing something that wasnât there. Him calling her crazy for stuff she canât control is awful.
