  • In this video Dada explains the systematic methods to purify the five layers of the mind.
    Using real life examples, scientific research and traditional yogic wisdom Dada demystifies the different levels of consciousness which all of us have access to.
    The eight fold path or Astaunga Yoga applied in a modern context is the key to purifying the five layers and thereby enabling us to utilize more of our unlimited mental capacities.

It seems that someone else is controlling them. How to deal with such people. I can't avoid them totally because they are almost everywhere, at home, in office etc. Please explain in detail on dealing with such unconscious people without being mentally affected. I can, but for that, we have to meet in person. The transmission of the technique is not only intellectual, but it is also energy, and for that need an offline meeting of the teacher and student. There are many teachers of the same path around the world, and I can recommend someone near your location. It is good to prepare yourself by scoring 100 hours of meditation with the basic technique, it is good to complete the basic course of meditation also. You can get if for free at meditationsteps.org

    Dada, very inspirational and thank you for your time and investment. I have a question: My girlfriend feels fear and anxiety when she's meditating even when I speak the word meditation. Her first experience with meditation wasn't very succesful as her teacher was giving a guided meditation session. The rest of her class was feeling calm, destressed, relaxed. She felt uncomfort, more stress and that was 10 years ago. Her teacher told her she probably has mental bagage that has not been resolved yet. Past trauma, experiences, etcetera.. She understands the benefits and she wants to participate.. But the moment she hears the word meditation she feels anxiety and even the urge to cry. Even sitting to meditate has become troublesome for her. In my enthusiasm for meditation I think I brought her down aswell to experience the joy I have, yet she feels unable, thus creating more anxiety.. Dada, do you have any advice that might help?

    • @MeditationSteps
      @MeditationSteps  Před 4 lety +2

      I would recommend your girlfriend at this moment to only do dynamic form of meditation called kiirtana (lesson about lalita marmika) and also read spiritual book, perhaps listen to the lectures. This is a certain nod in the karma, it will take some time to be released, for now she needs just to slowly get accustomed to the spiritual atmosphere. Just 5-10 minutes a day is enough.

    Please be precise! Reality can not be changed by perception. There is only one reality.
    Individual understanding of the one reality will change by changing perception.
    If anybody says that (our) reality could be changed by [whatever in the mind or sensory organs],
    than many people will take that literally and believe that the way they wish things to be
    could be changed by mere wishful thinking.

    • @MeditationSteps
      @MeditationSteps  Před 4 lety +1

      I would suggest the Elementary Philosophy book by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti. The absolute reality is only one, but relative truths are many. What we perceive is a relative truth for us, a bird may have a totally different picture and it will be a relative truth for that bird. Definitely, by altering the state of our mind, we are changing our reality. I see the cloudy sky and I feel sad, is this sadness not real? It is real for me. I see the cloudy sky and say, what a fine and mild whether. Is this soothing feeling also not real? Yes, it is real for me, therefore it is my reality, this is the point.

    • @Manorainjan
      @Manorainjan Před 4 lety

      @@MeditationSteps As You are writing, it is called relative *truth* in the Elementary Philosophy. Truth and reality are not the same, just like energy and mind or consciousness are not the same. To be precise is to use the right words and not mix them up.
      As Shakespeare already noted: "Truth and beauty are in the eye of the onlooker."
      So, opinion on what is a truth and who is beautiful is a personal matter. But reality in one.
      If I describe a matter in physics and mix up charge and capacity I will surely get my calculations wrong and misinform my readers. Truth and reality are fundamentally different like input and output are. They are not even similar. The reality is my input and what I make of it in my mind is my relative truth. It is a difference like fact and fiction is. The mentioned cloudy sky is the outer reality, whereas cloudy is already a relative term and a matter of opinion. and sky connotes, that You are on the surface of a planet and not looking down to the clouds from outer space. In a matter of a chain of action & reaction, by processing the perception of the visible covering of the "sky" by clouds, the individual creates a further internal mental chain-reaction which could lead to the mood of sadness. Here sadness is neither a reality not a truth. It is a mood. The fact is, that the person changes his or her mood according to his or her individual and momentary way of possessing inputs. The relation between the condition of the cloud cover and the emotional condition of that individual is quite far, even though cause and reaction may appear apparently instantly. But this only speaks for the processing speed of the mind and not for input and outcome to be the same thing. Very fast and automated responses are often mistakenly taken for the result of fixed and unchangeable rules rather than processes for which one bears responsibility and has actual influence on the outcome. At times the cognitive confusion is so severe that one holds input and output for the very same thing, actually making the input the only thing responsible and denying ones own responsibility for the output. It is this kind of serious mistake that is responsible for most destructive behaviours and all the negativity in the world. therefore, to make this clear distinction is imperative for human progress.
      There is also a difference between believing, liking or enjoying a talk and understanding a matter.
      This makes the difference between follower and learner.
      Just like the difference between religion or faith and spirituality or science.
      All those differences are not gradual or marginal but fundamental.

      @MeditationSteps  Před 4 lety

      @@Manorainjan If you check in the dictionary, you will find that the word "reality" signifies: the real world, real life, actuality, truth, physical existence

    • @Manorainjan
      @Manorainjan Před 4 lety

      @@MeditationSteps "the dictionary"? Which dictionary? Not that I would want to imply that just any modern internet dictionary should be used to define anything in a discussion about matters of Ananda Marga spiritual philosophy. But if You are to cite a dictionary, it should be a good one:
      www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/reality
      "1 : the quality or state of being real
      2a(1) : a real event, entity, or state of affairs.
      (2) : the totality of real things and events
      2b : something that is neither derivative nor dependent but exists necessarily"
      However, in our Elementary Philosophy the difference between reality and truth - as You already cited it - is clearly made. That is already clarified. The remaining question here is, if You are able to learn or if the Satripu pride is in Your way?
