Bob Dylan doesn't matter anymore. I think someone said that at a Newport Folk Festival in the 60's. For me he was the most important person when I was in high school in the 60's. I wore his picture in my locker. No one else cared about him. I only had one friend who cared about Bob Dylan. Everyone else said he can't sing. But for me he was the perfect fit. But now when the whole world is turning to him, all the bourgeois culture getting their fix on his merchandising machine, I am out of here. My solution for quite a while has been isolating myself in the wilderness when I am not wrapped up in reading philosophy. What matters to me is Emily Dickinson. Forget Bob. The most perfect thing for me to do is to wrap myself in the trees with the best poet in the world.
