Whenever we invest in stocks or bonds, most of us would assume that our brokerages purchase the stock or bond for us and put it under our name. However, this is not what really happens. The brokerage only gives you certain rights to the shares, but you don't actually get ownership of the stock. The brokerage doesn't own the stock either. Almost all stocks and bonds in the US are owned by a trust called the Depository Trust Company (DTC) also known as Cede & Co. Cede & Co. retains ownership and custody of $54.2 trillion worth of assets as of July 2017. Officially, this system is in place to eliminate the need to trade physical stock certificates and automate the entire process. But given the sheer size of Cede & Co's assets, many have hypothesized that there's much more going on in the background. This video explains what Cede & Co is, why they were established, and why they own $54.2 trillion in assets.

You can DRS/ Directly Register or DWAC/ Deposit Withdrawal at Custodian your shares with the Transfer Agent that manages the individual equity. This puts the shares in your name, and removes the DTC from the equation (after the DTC releases "your" shares).

Yep, this is what I did. I have some shares direct registered in my name at ComputerShare.
For any stock you wish to own medium to long term, always take delivery of the stock certificate.
DRS (Direct Register) those shares to remove them from the criminals hands (DTCC/Cede&Co/Brokers/Market Makers) and ensure you have full ownership and control over them.

He put a very real occurrence under the "conspiracy" tag, but naked short selling is a very real thing that is going on. He also said there is nothing you can do, so don't look - well there is something you can do: first of all look and dig further, second directly register your shares with the company's transfer agent, removing it from the clutches of Cede & Co./DTC and putting them directly in your name. It removes the ability for short sellers to borrow your stocks from your broker and sell them on the open market.

Check who your companies direct register company is (i.e. ComputerShare), and directly register your shares in your name so you actually own and control them!

Watch what they'll do to crypro, because what's a $3 trillion dollar market against an unlimited supply of fiat currency and a super computer? They also own your car and house. In Texas you get a “Certificate of Title” to your car. The real ownership paperwork goes to the DTC. Its called “Manufacturers Origin *” something lol. Same with your house. You get a “Certificate of Deed”. Legal definition of “Certificate” is a position of interest. That’s why the govt can take your property away. They hold superior lein to all your property through the DTC. 100% FACT!

Ownership is very similar to law because it has to enforced. We all kind of agree on each other's ownership as we mostly agree on law. Imagine if the whole population found out that their savings were "stolen". Even if it was legal on paper you would lose all that trust. People would be mad and would turn the whole society into chaos. The whole economic machine would become worthless because there would be no labour capital and the societal trust would be mostly gone and the society would have to undergo major rebirth (new order, revolution, shift, dystopia call it whatever)

@@zdenek3010 zedenek is right. We agree with each other that something is propriety of someone else, and we have the law to enforce that. If someone disagree he cannot take it because the law would prevent it and the justice system will decide what’s right. However if everybody disagree on that system I collapse. If there is no law and no enforcement something is owned by the one that take it and defend it. Like in some apocalypse films some armed group take propriety of building and cars etc even if there aren’t paper. That’s the same concept here. Think about your bigger brother that take from you a toy and say “now is mine” you can’t take it back because he’s stronger than you, so you go to your mom, the law enforcement who knows that it’s your toy and she’s stronger than your brother. But if your mother is at the grocery there is nothing you can do about it. The same here, if that company owns all the stock on paper it dosent matter. People would make a revolt against the system, they would stop working and the company become worthless without labour. They could enforce with the military but that would be the start of an apocalyptic scenario.
All you have to do is Direct Register your shares with the transfer agent of the stock you hold. It's just illegal for any company to ask it's shareholders to direct register it's shares. If that's not a sign it's rigged, Idk what is,.

Here in the UK I tried for months in 2016 to get share certificates for precious metal miners from my broker. They buggered me around and eventually said no, and would close my account as the only option to allowing the status quo.
In frustration I sold the lot, foregoing many years of ISAs and bought Bitcoin and Etherium.
Obviously I wouldn't ever use equities again.

Great Video! On top of that they earn interest on the money that is sitting in settlement. When you make a trade after you sell it will take a few days for that money to go back into your account. During this time they are earning interest on your money. This is happening millions of times everyday.

Well we've looked into it, we know it's happening, and we know what do to about it: directly register your stocks with the transfer agent of the companies you're invested in, which removes the stock from the DTC's clutches and prevents your broker from lending stock to short sellers.

This is the equivalent of roll ups in cryptocurrency. Layer twos bundle transactions and roll them up into the layer one like Ethereum. Also crypto exchanges maintain a database of users ownership and then do the same thing the DTCC does for stocks for crypto and balance out what they need to buy and sell based on the net effect of traunches of user trades. The more you learn about cryptocurrency the more you realize you don’t know about traditional finance

Then call up your broker and tell them you want to direct register your shares. Your broker should walk you through the steps

Yes sir. NSDL is run by the Ministry of Finance and CDSL by the Bombay Stock Exchange and some banks! Both depositories hold in dematerialised format.
