If you would plan to connect 4x Radeon VII I would recommend 1600W power supply. For system I use SATA SSDs. Exact names of components I mentioned in my video so if you will choose different components make sure it will fit, especially when choosing GPUs - they may vary in depth.

Great video, as always! Anyways. One year ago I got my first Hackintosh, purchased from a local Hackintosh Hero (he knew it all) while I knew nothing, except me knowing the Macs available then/there were a bit weak (desktop versions non existent) and as my old dog, the dear 2012 Mac Mini i7 with 16 GB Ram and a 256 internal SSD, which had been a good machine and fellow for many things for a long time, got more and more tired, this Hackintosh idea seemed to be the only road, and then we went in that direction.
One year has now passed and things have gone well most of the times. I have liked it when (many of the times) it has booted and worked okay. For some times I/it got into deep trouble (with my low Hackintosh knowledge) as the machine didn’t start at all etc… but was finally lucky and got help from a dear friend and by reading on the internet got it up running again, after a few weeks of disaster/downtime.
I have learned a lot during this year, even if I still don’t know enough about the environment called Hackintosh, that’s why this interesting topic comes up.
    Hardware info:
Motherboard: ASUS Prime Z370-A II (BIOS 0801- 04/24/2019)
    CPU: Intel i7 8700K
GPU: 1 or 2 x Radeon RX 570 Strix PCI
RAM: 4 x Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB/3200 Mhz
    HDD: Some SSDs
PCI expansion card 1: Wifi: TP-LINK Archer T9E AC1900 Dual Band Wireless PCI Express Adapter
Bluetooth: ASUS USB stick, don’t know the model name (works well most of the times/as we all know about bluetooth, it’s not always rock solid, not even on a “real” mac)
PCI expansion card 2: 1 x Asus Thunderbolt EX 3 (Thunderbolt 3 PCI card, to make it possible for 2012 Apple Thunderbolt display/routed via an external wire from mainboard TB to this PCI card, to convert TB3 to TB 2 for the Apple TB display.)
    PCI expansion card 3: ASUS M.2 X16 CARD V2 (currently equipped with 2 x Samsung 1TB 970 EVO Plus)
As mentioned above, this machine has been working well most of the time, first with Mojave (10.14.0 to 10.14.6) & later also (after a lot of work without really knowing how I got it up running) tested with Catalina (10.15.0 to 10.15.3) - but now the most important thing of all: ALL THE WAY with the Apple Thunderbolt 27" display (still quite a good display some of us may say). Me myself do like this display a lot, and as I don’t play any windows games and this monitor is what I’m used to, the colour and contrast and design, then why not go on with it? I also got 2 more of this model as “spare monitors”; and yes I also tested, for the sake of it/bought a brand new DELL 27” monitor (don’t remember the model name) which was told to be “the same hardware as the Apple TB display” but it went out like a bad joke when comparing it with the Apple TB display.
The main hardware to get this display working in this setup (which the cool dude who sold this machine fixed easy) is as listed above: the “ASUS Prime Z370-A II motherboard (now BIOS 0801- 04/24/2019)”, with the RX570 GPU output wired/patched into the MiniDisplayPort to an “Asus Thunderbolt EX 3" PCI card, which on the Thunderbolt 3 output has a Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter where the Apple Thunderbolt 27” display is connected (and has most of the times worked well, all the way from boot into OSX), to me a mystery how it works, but it does.
Question: Is this kind of odd/strange/old fashioned setup possible - to be able to use the Apple Thunderbolt 27” display more simple - straight out from a Thunderbolt 3 port on any existing Hackintoshable motherboard of today, why not for example the Gigabyte Designare Z390 (via TB3 to TB2 adapter of course as the Apple Thunderbolt display is old and only has Thunderbolt 2)? If so, with the Designare Motherboard, one more PCI slot would be free and also we will get one free Thunderbolt 3 port out from the Designare Motherboard - why not to be used for a modern, good Thunderbolt Audio Interface, like Universal Audio many good options? Do anyone here know if this could be possible to fix, without having a Super-Einstein-Hackintosh-brain/not too complex settings/coding? Is it even possible or is Mac Pro 2019 the one and only way if an expandable desktop computer is needed, for this old but quite lovely display? Does it even work on a Mac Pro 2019?
Why this question comes up here in this thread/video, I don’t know, or why not? Just thinking Teresa with friends are the best ones to answer important questions like this. So let’s go…

Morgonaut i know but maybe you will build budget mini hackintosh in future :) i think many People will love that :) mac mini 2018 is great but it is too expensive, not value that much money for that poor power.

Would LOVE to see a build guide!! I am currently running the 3970x on the MSI Creator MB, 256GB of RAM, dual Radeon vII's, M.2's all over the place.. I would LOVE to see MacOS vs Windows, but no matter what I have tried in the past, I cannot get it installed. Please help :)

    Incredible performance! Congratulations!
I'm currently on building my own hackintosh with the following specs:
    Motherboard: Gigabyte z390 Designare
    CPU: i9 9900K
    GPU: XFX RX580
    RAM: 3200mhz Adata 16GB
And now I'm looking to buy an m.2 ssd, a case and a cpu cooler. Some guys recommended me the Arctic eSports 34 DUO for this build, I hope it can handle the CPU's TDP. I read some pretty good reviews about it.

Great job! I'd be interested to see how well MacOS scales with that many cores (for example, Windows does pretty poorly, but Linux handles it just fine)

Look at the reviews from professionals about the MacPro. The result is disappointing and forshadows that the new macPro will be as much as disaster as the trashcan macPro. Oh yeah and nobody seem to love the $6000 monitor too.
