Uncrustables are an edible packet with filling. They are technically ravioli.
This is the most right thing I may have ever read.
I think they technically are a jaffle subcategory of ravioli, which of course is in the family of dumpl8ngs, and kingdom of pies as fully enclosed carbohydrate rich parcel containing a protein or vegetable filling.
Ravioli, uncrustables, dumpl8ngs and pies are taxonomically closer to each other than apple pies and apple crumble.

Seeing that the first clip is from seven years ago has made me feel a way I can't explain. I remember watching that as it happened. Seven year ago. I've been following this group of creators for nearly a decade.

I swear I watch these like once a year and laugh every time.
With burger construction, you put any leafyness on the bottom as a sog barrier and to precent wilting(due to heat rising). And then cheese on top the meat to melt it, with condiments spread on the top bun
I agree to all the reasoning but think that this is practical only for an idealistic burger. Because there's too much variance of patty make up and doneness, I use a rearranged version of this system: bottom bun, ketchup/sauces, patty, cheese, lettuce, pickles, tomato, top bun. Commonly, I find that the burger patty itself has low odds of being excessively juicy at most places you order one so the bottom bun can absorb the sauces without being drenched unlike if you had the toms and pickles down there. Instead, these boys get placed on top because the top bun is usually larger, allowing for more soppage. Lettuce prevents moisture from grossing up and cooling the cheese. Although, personally, once I have my hands on a burger I'm not letting go until it's gone, so temperature over a long eating period may be a concern for others.
@SirToastyToes There was another golf segment in 2016 or 17 about what a sandwich is where NL says: " oh if i squeeze tooth paste between two peppermint patties, is that a sandwich!?" which is the only part of the sadwich saga I saw live, kinda sad its not in here. Otherwise this is a perfect piece of content. You and Good Egor are doing important work.

They're pretty convenient. I work on an assembly line, so I don't have much time to eat and my hands are usually gross, so I can use the wrapper to actually grip the sandwich.

I have almost 5 years working at a sand which shop/deli and we do not consider Pita breads/flat breads as wraps. We serve them as sand whiches, a wrap must have the contents fully enclosed so they aren't showing, Hot pockets would be classified as a cheap version of a Stromboli in my book
Everyone keeps acting like the second you step away from Hardline Traditionalist on the chart you open the floodgates for all sorts of wacky ideas, and that's just absurdity for absurdity's sake.
The whole point of what makes a sandwich a sandwich is _intent._ The thing that separates a wrap from a burrito? _Intent._ The sandwich wrap is meant to a creative way of making a sandwich, whereas a burrito is meant to be a completely different food. The thing that separates hot dog from a sub? _Intent._
Whenever someone makes a unique sandwich, it will be somehow evocative of a sandwich, whereas something that isn't meant to be a sandwich but has vague similarities will lack the, "Soul," so to speak, of a sandwich. Most if not all sandwich debates basically just drop all pretense of the self-evident nuance that we learn over time.

I’m sorry but an open-faced sandwich is not a sandwich. It’s sandwich filling on a bed of bread. If you get a piece of salmon on top of a piece of lettuce, it’s not a lettuce wrap, it’s just salmon on a bed of lettuce.

NL's chicken salad take is about the only time I'm taking Apollo's side on food. Chicken + Mayo = Chicken Salad. Is that the best chicken salad? No. I like to add salt+pepper+dried cranberries+orange zest. Eat it in an endive cup for fresh crunch.
This is not hard to deal with... If there is one piece of bread that does not cover all the toppings it’s an open face. If it’s enclosed it’s either a wrap, which has to be flat bread, or a stuffed dough thing which includes empanadas and other completely enclosed within the dough. If you have 2 pieces of bread it is a normal sandwich. This literally covers everything. Pop tarts? Enclosed dough thing. Burger sandwich. Quesadilla it’s a sandwich. However it’s not a sandwich if you bake or cook the dough and the toppings at the same time. So pizza not a sandwich. Dumplings not a sandwich. So dough things as defined above aren’t sandwiches and pizza would be an open faced sandwich but the dough is cooked at the same time as the topings. This covers everything that could be confused with a sandwich.
On uncrustables: sitting on/armpit/other ways they mention I agree are insane, just put them in your pocket. Gets residual heat from you still and no risk of the smell unless you’re a weirdo who puts smelly things in your pockets.

I mean a burger is obviously a sandwich (like there is no two ways about that). Wraps are controversial because they don't follow conventional sandwich structure, surrounding the filling on all sides instead of just two. I personally put wraps under the "burrito" category, separate from sandwiches but within the realm of bread-based foods.

A wrap is a sandwich because of the contents. Usually it contains things that would also work in a sandwich. You would not put beans, rice, and cheese between two pieces of bread like you would in a burrito. That is why a burrito is not a sandwich, but a wrap is.
Tortas are sandwiches and often have those ingredients between bread.
