I have tried countless of pancake recipes. This is the first one that actually tasted good and the pancakes come out melt-in-your-mouth fluffy. Loved it!!!!
I made this recipe this morning and it turned out great! Easy to make! I only used 1 TBSP of sugar since I eat my pancakes with syrup but the sugar really does give it that extra flavor. I have tried another recipe on here however the person never said to use warm/room temperature ingredients. Having the milk and butter warm really makes a big difference! I’m glad you share all of the tips and tricks and doesn’t hold anything back. Thanks

I’ve followed so many pancake recipes, I’ve used this one 3 times now and it’s empty plates all round! By far the best and easiest, most reliable recipe I’ve tried 👍🏽
I made these a couple days ago! They were SO GOOD! Fluffy, like little cakes. I didn't have butter milk so I used 3/4 cup sourcream and 1/4 water, worked perfect!
I just used normal milk. Worked fine but I'm sure things could have been a tad better with what the recipe actually calls for lol. If anyone reading this doesn't have butter milk, normal milk will work alright.
Nice!! I used a combo of warm milk, vinegar and some yoghurt-milk (its like a tangy milk drink which i thought would be delicious in here) and they were amazing. I let the batter set for about 15 min for better flavor to chill a bit in the morning lol

These are the best pancakes i've ever had! They were so delicious with good maple syrup and strawberries. My 2 yr. old grandson ate 7 mini's. Thank you for this recipe, will always make pancakes this way from now on.
I absolutely love John. His recipes are easy to understand, no complicated ingredients or instructions. Just good every day food. I love that you can hear his kids in the background! Also, he has such a great voice. I could listen to him all day!

Oh sorry I didnt see the question. These made about 8 pancakes, I'd double the recipe for a family bigger than 4. They are very filling and dense though so 1 only ate one pancake.
Being a retired chef, and after so many years of precision and aesthetic presentations, now I'm all about just simple and delicious.
I love the way you made this pancakes which is pretty much exactly way I make mine. When I want them but don't have buttermilk at hand I add a tablespoon of lemon juice to the wet ingredients. The zest goes in it, too. And of course, if there's no real maple syrup, I won't bother.

Hi. I am NOT a cook! I made pancakes yesterday using this recipe and WOW! I was that guy who would buy the ready to cook mix that came in a box, BUT I have to say that I will never buy a box of pancake mix ever again! I loved the simplicity of the recipe and this video was KEY! TY! I made a second batch and added fried bacon to the batter and my son LOVED it! Thank you again! [2/19/2024]

I made some of these yesterday and they were fantastic! Some with blueberries and blueberry syrup (which I also made) and some plain with regular syrup. I have been cooking challenged for most of my life, but this recipe with your instructions was easy and yummm! Never buying pancake mix from the store again.

This is my 5th preppy kitchen recipe I’ve tried. I’ve done the Apple Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip/Peanut butter cookies.
My son wanted pancakes today, and I wasn’t in the mood for box mix pancakes.
So I tried these out today, used the buttermilk substitute 😉 and I doubled the recipe!
My pancakes turned out beautifully. Not exaggerated thick or anything, but indulgent tasting and looking for sure.
Can’t wait to whip up this recipe for my loves children when they’re over this weekend. 😊
I usually use a partial mix (still have to add milk eggs and butter but no flour sugar baking soda etc) but have been trying out various recipes but none of them were gone. But I found this and they are SO good, even better than restaurant pancakes. Unlike other pancakes which are very bland, this pancake is sweet and savory rather than just plain, and taste good even without syrup. And they are so much fluffier and thicker than any pancake you’ll ever have
Family Day here in Ontario 🇨🇦 and these were a hit today! Served with strawberries, bananas, whip cream and delicious warm maple syrup 🤤. Thank you John 🤗
1 + 1/3 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
Sift and mix
1 cup of buttermilk*
2 teaspoons vanilla extract*
(Microwave * for 45 seconds)
1 egg into the warm buttermilk
Whisk
4 tablespoons melted butter
Stir it in
Pour in wet ingredients into dry
Mix until combined gently
Ready to cook

Why does 1tsp of salt sound insane? I added 2 pinches instead
@@estikekry6720 dude don't put a tsp at all cause your whole batch will just be salty. Trustme the first time I did it supersalty but once I removed the salt, tasted amazing

This is the best recipe I ever came across for flully pancakes and I just made them. They are delicious, soft, light, and fluffy. And I made them using the healthier options as you recommended - almond milk in place of Buttermilk and coconut oil in place of melted butter. I didn't add any lemon juice or vinegar. And they are still fluffy, maybe because of the baking powder. Granted the batter is not as thick as what I see in this video. My only problem is being patient while cooking the entire batch at the stove. I had 2 while standing at the stove. Lol
Just in case someone is wondering how many pancakes this recipe yields. I used the 1/3 measuring cup and this recipe gives me 6 pancakes. I stirred in peanut butter just before I start cooking. John, thank you so much for this recipe. You're the best. 💖

I have been making pancakes from a box mix. No more my friends! Husband and I have been together since 1977 and never had the reaction I did today. Husband said these were the best pancakes he has ever had. To be fair, he did have a couple rips off the bong (we’re retired) and the heat in PNW has us hunkered down this week. I made these for breakfast this morning and added blueberries. They were the best pancakes I ever had! One thing I noticed was that they cooked a bit slower since they are thicker than most other recipes. I also had to add about a quarter cup more buttermilk to get the right viscosity. Bravo - and thanks for the video.

This was easy and delicious! Thank you for the recipe! I just used 1/2 a tsp of salt instead of 1 tsp since I like slightly sweeter pancakes and it turned out perfect and the pancakes were soft and thick and fluffy and delicious 👍🏼🥞😋
Made them and they came out great. Only thing was the battered seemed too thick. So I added egg nog to correct it. Tasted faintly like a sugar cookie. Wife loved them.

You´ve transformed our Sunday breakfast, it is now a fluffy pancake, sirup, scrambled eggs and bacon festival. So delicious!! I changed the flour to gluten free - and the receipe makes absolute perfect fluffy gluten free pancakes too.

This works so good. Fluffy and delightful. I actually used powdered milk as a substitute and it worked. I added about a third cup of sugar into the batter since I don’t have syrup on hand. Will be using this instead of boxed mix.
