    Why are people telling me I have to take the thermostat off from the top of the engine?

      Haha gd thing you ran into this video. Was it the ppl at the auto parts no names. Yeah that's where it would normally be on top but not on this engine.

    Thanks again, I got a new t.stat in last night and bled air out, car heated up big time still with water bubbling out the resevoir and I wasn't sure what to think.
    Test drive this morning and it got real hot. I bled the air again and a bunch came out. Filled it up with water, ran it, and hot water still blew up out of the reservoir while running. So I bled again and then it seemed to work okay, my wife drove to work and the temp stayed down.
    BTW I was happy to find the t stat on top of the engine and super easy to get to on my 95 3.5L.
    If you have any house painting questions let me know, that's what I do for work.

      Yes and in some cases on the lower bolt you might want to use three long extensions

    I have a 2009 charger 3.5 and, the alternator is not on the right side like yours is, mine is on the left side.
    I cannot get to the bottom bolt because the power steering pump is in the way.
    Can I get to it with a 1/4" universal?
    you cannot get to the bottom bolt from under the car.
    Awesome video. Thanks so much.

      Neil Williams Hi Nail is your air box on the way?? Remove And u might be able to do it from the top mine had a lot more going on the top so I choose the bottom and I used a swible. You can wrap your swible with black tape so u have a little more control.

  • @neilwilliams8608
    @neilwilliams8608 Před 6 lety

    Your alternator is on the right but, my power steering pump is on the right. How do I get to the bottom bolt on the thermostat housing off? The a/c compressor is blocking the bottom bolt.
    I cannot find a video on my vehicle. 2009 dodge charger 3.5 sxt.
    Awesome video. Thanks so much.

    Oh and also I have tape around my hose would that be the reason or something else? I just fixed a code p0455 leak or something but the hose wasn't the issue like the guy I bought it from said it was.???

    • @mr.fixitayala310
      @mr.fixitayala310  Před 7 lety

      +Yvonne Chavez the code PO455 i belive is air on the fuel evaporator system. That could come on when you put gas on a car and the car is not off. all the way what hose do you have tape on??

    I have a 2001 dodge intrepid 3.2 engine and I just bought it off some dude but when i drive around for bout 20 mins with a.c on it goes up to the h then slowly down to the middle is this normal?
    cause the dude at the smog shop said these type cars do that? it didn't sound right cause my 2000 Mitsubishi went to the h and I blew a head gasket and radiator cracked. Does eny 1 know what needs to be fixed? please get back to me asap. So i can get it checked out thank you!!

    • @mr.fixitayala310
      @mr.fixitayala310  Před 7 lety

      Yvonne Chavez ok if you have no hot air coming out of the heater then you have a bad water pump. and that might be the reason your car over heating.

    • @mr.fixitayala310
      @mr.fixitayala310  Před 7 lety

      +Yvonne Chavez I thoght i had replied and had said that if ur heater is blowing cold air that u might need a water pump rrleplacement
