I did this with my horse for a few years until she had it with me and turn and kick me between the eyes and knock me out. My grandmother was in the garden and saw it ran over and Coco was standing over me pushing me with her nose. I don’t think she meant to hurt me just tried of playing. Best horse I ever had. She passed at the age of 33.Yes I had to go to hospital but everything was fine.

after a while you definately learn how to keep your boundaries when the horse is play bucking. its hurt a lot when my miniature horse kicked me in the leg and it was my fault but I have definitely learnt that barrier. its so much fun getting them to buck tho

I watched that entire video. Made me furious. Like I've said before, I've never been around horses, but because of Ricks other channels I was drawn to "think like a horse" channel too. I'm gaining knowledge and a real appreciation for horses and like very much the interaction between Rick, Mr T, and Buddy. I've heard the expression of being "horse whipped" my whole life, but didn't know it actually happens. I grew up watching Roy Rogers and Trigger and thought that was the way people and horses interacted. Without videos like that the word about abuse in the horse world won't reach the uninformed public, "like me". Information is power, and that's what it takes to make a change. Abuse of any animal should be criminal, with stiff penalties. Buddy and Mr T, your good boys.

As to your dilemma - Some people never seek the counsel of others and seeking only the counsel of one, gives a limited/biased perspective. Some studies have shown that by voicing our problems, it helps the subconscious sort it out and come to a decision. The anxiety will also mess with your immune system and prevent you from healing. Whatever you choose to do, I hope you come to a resolution that you can be comfortable with.

Go with your gut feeling Rick. Do what is right for you. As for the crows, they are good watch birds. Almost as good as a goose. When I was a kid, we had a big wind storm. The next day we (neighborhood kids) found a baby crow. We never did find the nest. The kids next door took him home and raised him. They even taught him to say hello and bye. He was allowed to be free and for a few years he left every fall and returned every spring. We knew it was our crow because he would holler hello so we would come out and feed him. He would also make a lot of noise if a stranger (human or animal) was near. I still think of that bird every time I hear a crow caw.

My husband and I use to have 2 horses, but gave them to a good family that could give them the attention they needed. I miss them but for the last 13 years I have been watching a herd of wild horses that come in my yard all the time. For 10 years the stallion was a beautiful buckskin, then a Palomino took over the herd. One of the babies it sired was a beautiful albino filly, red eyes, all white. this year 3 of the mares gave birth about 1 month ago and there are 4 more to go, so many babies =D. I know its rare for horses to give birth in winter, but all 3 of the babies are healthy and getting bigger. btw we live up in northern Nevada so it gets cold up here. love watching your videos. Buddy's slip was funny, hope he did not hurt himself to much. you have very happy health horses.

When I first started learning to train and work with my horse, I taught her many bad habits. Many many bad habits. But as I learned, more and became confident and consistent I was able to untrain all those bad habits I'd taught her. She's been taught many different things as I've found what methods work with us, she's been taught to keep her distance from humans, but now with liberty based training I want her to come in close. She was taught to stay out when asked to stop on the lunge, now I ask her to come in and give me both eyes. She's learned the changes just fine. She's not even been confused. Horses absolutely are smart enough to unlearn any bad habits people teach them

I love watching horses play. Our horse lives outside in a herd at a barn about 35 minutes away. It's going to be very cold this weekend, -11 celsius, colder with the wind chill, yes in the winter we use blankets and rain sheets.
My daughter was talking about riding bitless and I thought she was nuts but have come to learn that bits hurt a horses mouth. I don't ride horses and I didn't understand that until it was slightly explained to me.

Watching this in June 2020. The last 10 minutes or so of this is so perfect for this cancel history movement happening now. Everyone should hear it.

Some rich equestrian CZcamsr recently got footage of his horse slipping over and being completely fine. He censored it though? As of it was some horrible gorey travesty? People are weird..

You're right, it's about the horse, not the human. Thank you for being so candid about it, it needed to be said.

Most people hate crows and ravens but I love them. I think they are tough and brave, extremely intelligent and very adaptable. Nobody feeds them, nobody cares for them, they have to rely on themselves to survive. But they are free. That's the price of freedom.

kleine Hexe : I have one which was injured and so I shoveled out a path for him from tree to feeder. Gave him lots of extra seed. He comes back in Spring and just stands at door looking in. Smart guy.

Horses know from the minute that they’re born that we’re predators. They can look right at the eyes in the front of our heads and know we’re predators. That’s why they’re born wary of us.

Don't have a horse but been following for a long time. When you get a chance, would you please talk about horses and the extreme cold? I know that, especially the Midwest, is going through some serverely cold weather. I'm up here in NJ, thankful and grateful for a nice warm home. Thank you for all of your tutorials. Love you and try to keep warm.

Censorship... i agree with you! Just drove me nuts when the news blurred out the bodies of horses that were found dead in a field. They showed one paddock with a few dead when they were reporting on a women who neglected 20 horses and they all died. (And one dog).

    • @BenjaminEsposti
      @BenjaminEsposti Před 5 lety

      I agree!
And I hate seeing those things, but I don't take that out on the information (literally, a picture or video, that's all it is. Information.). Same thing like, for me, I advocate to stop cutting off the foreskin of baby boys (circumcision). Some people just don't understand the trauma done until you show them a video (with audio) of it. And even then, some people are so stuck-up that even a video of it won't convince them that it is wrong. (There are a HUGE number of misconceptions about this topic that float around, it's insane how people go to such great, irrational lengths to excuse or defend cutting up the healthy genitals of a baby who isn't even old enough to consent, let alone even "know" who is their mommy/daddy in the way that grown people do!!!!!!)
We can hate those videos and images all we want, but that won't affect their subjects one bit... what's done had already been done. Ya know? Like, better learn from this and move on, so that we can prevent x from happening in the future!

  • @Tactical_Equine_Attack_Unit
