Great video my friend. I fish off the bank and kayak, can u give some advice for hot hot summertime fishing on calaveras. What would be a good pattern during sweltering heat.
Albert Cervantes majority of people fishing the bank will use that same Carolina Rig setup. Preferred baits would be Shrimp, Crawfish (alive or dead) and live Tilapia. When I’m fishing the banks I prefer Crawfish and Tilapia. With shrimp sometimes you’ll get small bait fish pecking it off your hook
I think I have watched all your videos. You put out some great info for wannabe fishermen.Thanks. I have one question about the head on shimp you get from HEB. Is it frozen or do you get from the fresh fish counter?

S Lange I use almost all Penn Reels. My Spinning Reels are 3000 (have 2) and 4000 (have 7). I like using the smaller one if I’m gonna be constantly casting. Larger ones I just set out and wait (but still good for casting)

79Satd thru the guide lines not really. They will bounce off them occasionally. Issue I really notice is of the stoppers are still wrapped in the spool then sometimes it will stop during my cast. To work around this I’ll make sure the stoppers are where my thumb is where I’m holding the line pre-cast. You do need to give yourself enough slack line to do this and have a wide swing/cast. Takes a little getting used to but once you do it’s easy

XxUmadBroXxXx GAMING I always change locations especially if I don’t get any bites. If I’m in a spot with 0 bites in 30-minutes I’ll relocate. I usually target waters 20’ deep or less

Take some shrimp with you and if possible live bait. I usually only always take shrimp, but yeah, this time of year before the crappie wall, or shorelines in the 20’ range is where I have most my luck
Gamer boy2007 Bank Fishing inwould stick to just the Carolina Rig with Shrimp or Live Bait. Crawfish also works. Will have to walk your lines out at least to waist deep before you throw
79Satd It’s basically a small silver or gold flat piece of metal. It looks very similar to a spoon. They come in varying weights, what I have are 1oz and 2oz
What’s up with the these boaters spoiling my rods on a hobie kayak. I am not under motet power so I have the right or way. I still try to stay out of the way and these dudes still cut right behind me and spool my line of my real.
Alan Cox Sorry to hear that. When I fish I always give kayakers space, unfortunately there are a lot of boaters on the water that are either new or inconsiderate. It shouldn’t be happening but obviously it still does

Hector Jimenez For Reds I use 5/0 Circle Hooks, for Cats I use 6/0 Circle Hooks. They work great, been using them for well over 12 years
