Man that’s responsive. I was blown away to see you offer this information so quickly. I checked back in our correspondence. And the request was only made on October 3rd, Outstanding. Thank you
Hope it helps! That lake looks really cool!
Nice breakdown! Thanks for sharing!
Glad it was helpful!
Love this breakdown of the lake I’ve been fishing for 20-Years! And yes, no contours on navionics past the bridge. But there are definite drops and points past it, it’s not all shallow. Past the bridge to the right where you said you probably can’t fish you are correct. There are bouys that prevent access
Thanks for the insights!
Thanks for the breakdown... Liked and subbed!
Awesome, thank you!
That lake if full of talipia right now you can blind cast and snag a talipia. I have fished their for bass several times with no luck mosly redfish and catfish on lures but I have seen others catch bass in throwing nets on accident so I know their their. The amount of bait in that lake is ridiculous to where it's hard to think how they would even hit artificial lures especially by the dam. It's just clouds and clouds of bait fish everywhere on the Lowrance
Maybe that is why TPWD rated it fair for largemouth. Great info thanks for sharing!
Only issue is on the side of the lake with the boat ramps is usually used by bank fishermen so not very accessible especially on the weekends
The HUGE SHALLOW flat is adjacent to what locals call the 181 cove. When temps heat up 90% of charters will circle that spot exclusively
Thanks for the info!!
They do need to remove Hybrid Striped Bass from the TPW Page. No one has caught one in years from that lake. Now there may be a stray here and there but with the amount of Guides/Fisherman on that water it’s crazy that no one has caught one in a long while
Is it safe to eat fish from a power plant lake?
I would not. :)
NOTE: The lake is NOT managed by the actual nation wide THOUSAND TRAILS. Don't attempt to use your 1K Trails membership at Calaveras or Braunig.
Visa versa... Don't try to use your anual lake pass at any national 1K Trails park.
I wish the city would go back to running it themselves.
Love the lake
Didn't like the Mgmt.
NO ONE DOES!
Man that sucks, just let you fish.
Your breakdown popped up on my TV. Watched it. Great idea for bass. BUT THERE ISNT ANY. I logged in to leave comment. I have fished from 2006 and hit it hard for 4 years until 2010 to find the bass. Even the bullrush, getting into them dropping in plastics. Nothing. Bass dont exist. I've used nets for bait fish and have only caught shad, sunfish and cats. No little bass. Its known for the Reds, tilapia, catfish. Braunig lake has bass, very hard to catch. Jan/feb and bullrush. Fished 8hrs one day and got 2 bass. Both really suck for bass and the percentages are not good. Better luck going other places. Fayetteville, Coleto creek, Bastrop are better power lakes to fish for bass.
Thanks for letting us know! Crazy, there is any in there. The TPWD site says they are but maybe it's outdated.
The most Irritating thing about fishing this lake is if you get on a school of fish and start getting good bites some butthead will come full throttle and stop 20 ft were you’re fishing and start throwing over your line’s 😡😡😡
lol!
