Wow! Mr, Beethoven, the intense emotion that dwelt in your heart must have been difficult to contain. Especially since you had to channel to the outside world via a connection frustrated by infirmity.

I took all three existing videos of this singular performance (2x) and the rehearsal. Taking the difference in recording lengths and some careful timing... I got all 3 videos synced together on the same keynotes and oh my Lord in Heaven.....literally take that beautiful sound and amplify it 3 fold?????? If the heavenly gates sound half that beautiful I will cry the most beautiful of tears. I love to play with audio sync such as this and to do this one was pure joy and beauty. though there were small details that separated the sounds it still made for pure beauty

Can someone post the lyrics? I really like the way they sound, but isn’t this some of the lyrics to “Joyful Joyful” and not the poem for Ode to Joy?
It's the hymn of joy by Henry van Dyke. Written as lyrics for the Beethoven music. But they changed the best words, probably to avoid offending people with the name of Christ and saying that God is reigning over us.

@@pesty4592 correct, it's Schillers "Ode an die Freude", Beethoven just added the music. Schillers poem doesn't have anything to do with the christian God though...
I don't like when people change lyrics to perfectly good songs to supposedly improve them for modern sensitive ears. They removed the only reference to Christ. They changed the 3rd and 4th verses.
And I'd be fully willing to bet you'd prefer the Mass to still be in Latin?
