17:08 The 2 active (balanced) pins in XLR are "hot & cold" or "positive & negative phase". Connecting L&R to these causes phase cancellation, resulting in only the "out of phase" (effects and panned) signals being heard. Hence the need for the converter box to mix the L&R from the 3.5mm headphone plug into a complete mono signal which is mirrored on the XLR output.
Despite have a small home studio, I continue to watch your content to get ideas for my setup. Nothing has come to mind yet but I appreciate the inspiration.

XLR Pinout is wrong explained in 17:06. Tip 1 is Normal Signal, Tip 2 is inversed for Symmetric Signal. That way interferences get filtered out. Tip 3 is Shield

I’m ears monitors or lav mic with receiver setup if you get the correct adapters. Reliable wireless.
If you have to pull audio from video you could do wireless video and then a de-embedder to extract audio from the video and feed into audio board
The qsc mixer doesn’t have deley-feature for lipsync.
QSC mixer does have delay. It’s under the output settings per output. I use it every time I run satellite speakers.
