    I tried a cheapo version of this and it worked for about 8 months. I have since gone back to mechanical pump with a one way valve right in front of the inlet. I have no regrets...

      Good to know! I’ve heard of some people on the forums doing both mechanical and electric with a valve to swap… maybe in the future…

    That truck was top of the line in its day. Cool truck

      It's an XL according to the dash. Not top of the line as it's less than an XLT and Lariat.

    • @HarrisT
      @HarrisT  Před 6 měsíci

      I believe the badge on the side says XLT, but I'm not sure. I'll check when I have a second

      @@HarrisT fenders get changed a lot easier than dashes

      @@mwilliamshs Very true, I doubt anything has been changed on this old thing though haha. I know the motor was rebuilt when the first owner tried to drive it over a flooded bridge but that’s about it. Maybe a fender or dash was part of that swap, who knows. Good eye though! 👍

      @HarrisT still not "top of the line" as it's got manual windows. The top model in those days was the Lariat.

    Looking forward to more! I myself am eyeing a 87 ford with the 6.9 but time will tell though.

      If the price is right you should go for it 👍 they’re cool trucks!

      I’m thinking of offering 500 or 800 bucks because the whole motor needs all new seals she’s leaking oil and Diesel out of where it can so it’d be a pull the motor out and all new seals and maybe at that point but new rings in it after a good honing. She’s got the 4 speed stick as well

    • @HarrisT
      @HarrisT  Před 6 měsíci

      Nice! This thing is completely coated in oil underneath. Someone told me once, "if it leaks oil, it has oil" and thats good enough for me. haha

    • @rollingthunder6204
      @rollingthunder6204 Před 6 měsíci

      There is truth in that. But also it means your spending that much more in money to top off fluids and that’s if you catch it before it blows the motor up or whatever else lol but I digress

    • @HarrisT
      @HarrisT  Před 6 měsíci

      @@rollingthunder6204 for sure. My commitment level with doing a full teardown to chase my oil leak is pretty minimal at this point though haha. I just want the damn thing to be able to drive at this point. Working on part 5 right now 👍

    You mention a water separator on the other side of the engine can you show where that is? I have an old 6.9l and I’m just trying to learn more.

      That water separator is at the far left side of the firewall. It’s non serviceable and very prone to leaks. I’m swapping in a different water separator filter setup because I’m pretty sure mine is causing air intrusion again.

    Volume way too low. If I need to raise it to a certain level, I just avoid the video. Just letting you know.
