    this is a good gripper, after water proofing them for underwater use there good, one thing is if you over rotate, drop or even knock it the plastic part will break, the part in the middle it will break these things are good but break very easily i used them to build ROVS or remote operated vehicles for underwater use and about 3 or 4 of them broke be careful
    read my name

    How do you prevent gears from excess stress or breakage when the gripper clamps on the object? thanks

    Great videos dude. what is the scope of control via bluetooth ? Could it be higher via radio frequency ?

    • @MechDickel
      @MechDickel  Před 8 lety +1

      Thanks! Bluetooth reaches just a few meters. Radio frequency can reach hundreds of meters (depends on your set).

      Ok thanks. I would like to do the same thing but with a winch (hoist) before the gripper. So the gripper can go up and down. How many motor can I control with 1 mcore board (separately I mean) ? what kind of motor should I use to make the winch. I can't find a winch module for mbot. Thanks again.

    • @MechDickel
      @MechDickel  Před 8 lety

      I have not tried, but I guess you can control more DC motors adding the Me Dual DC Motor Driver, or Me Encoder Motor Driver, or even Me High-Power Motor Driver. Surely you will need an external power supply.
      For one additional DOF before the gripper, I guess an easier alternative is a servo motor. Easier to install and manage.
      But always remember: mCore board has limited electric current capability.

    can we use this in drone for lifting

    • @MechDickel
      @MechDickel  Před 6 lety

      I think it won't be easy, but I guess it can work. It will depend on the strength of your drone ... and probably will require stability adjustments.

    Because i'm deciding to use this robot gripper in my rov (remotely operated underwater vehicle)

    • @MechDickel

      It's not a waterproof device.

    • @edwardo230
      @edwardo230 Před 7 lety +3

      We used one for our ROV in an international competition. it will work, but it life of the gripper will get reduced a lot. And althoug we did all the tasks we needed to do, like opening valves moving pvc pipes etc we finally changed it for a gripper we designed as this gripper was too weak for other tasks. (If I remember correctly you will need to take out the capacitor it has between its terminal or it will shortcircuit)

      i am going to use them in a ROV competition as well (our competition is march 25th 2018) and it is easy to water proof, we just put some liquid tape around the motor and connection wire and it works fine underwater and how did you do in your competition?

    • @xbyx7788

      @@visibleconfusion9894 we are making rov and we bought this gripper. How to isolated electronical parts? We cant found liquid tape.
