    Hi Andreas,
    Thank you for posting this video. I actually purchased the Tritan router, Kreg insert and Kreg insert leveller kit around two weeks ago. I liked the idea of having the height adjustment from above without the expense of a router lift. Going by your video it looks like it should work well.
    Thanks again,

    I live near Denver and visit Rockler and Woodcraft there often. I have looked at and read about the Triton router and thought it would be a good buy for my extension. The problem is that both those vendors have the Triton, but don't carry the plate that it needs to fit into the table. Neither had the dust collection parts that you show on your installation. The web indicates that the dust collection pieces come with the router. I need to investigate the Triton more thoroughly. I like your installation that does not need a lift to get height adjustment and has dust collection without putting the router in a box. I have also asked both Rockler and Woodcraft about a router that has a spindle lock for one wrench bit changes. Neither knew of any router with that feature, but the Triton TRA001 3¼ HP model has one. It is also less expensive with comparable warranty than most other high HP routers with fewer features. Thanks for the video.

    You did that a bit different to me last week. I attached the timber around outside of plate, then made a piece to go in the centre, where I was going to cut the hole, so router would be supported on both sides. After removing all material for router plate I cut the middle all the way out. My first use of a router and I only have one arm. Wasn’t as scary as I thought, tho I only needed to hold on the a makita trim router. Wouldn’t be tackling that great hulk of a Titan router with one hand. The Titan in a Mft table will be next if I get enough use out of my toy router table.

    I been struggling with my need for a table router vs my lack of workshop spacewhen I came across this really useful video. I used a piece of old kichen worktop (40mm thick) which worked well. I put maple edging (about 18mm, from some left over maple flooring) on the ends as I didn't want the screws holding the metal strips to move in the chipboard. I used 3mm x 15mm stainless strip for the mounting front and back, basically because that was what I could find on offer: no problem with fouling the fence. The front and back of the saw bed are not quite vertical which means that positioning the strips is a bit fiddly. Despite some site indicating that the Kreg plate could sag I went with that and the big Triton. I mounted the plate/router with the switch towards the front and the dust extraction at the back - I can use the same extractor pipe as I use on the blade guard of the saw, switching it over farly easily. However the spring cover on the router fouls the base of the saw when the router is fully lowered so for now I'm leaving the cover off - its upside down so shouldn't get too much dirt.
    I used a large outdoor switch mounted under the table like yours but I put a hinged wooden flap in front of it that turns the switch off when you press it, just like the standard switch for the GTS10. I even painted it red!
    Thanks for a really great suggestion. I'll make a router fence and fingerboards next.

I can only get melamine chipboard which is so annoying. www.travisperkins.co.uk/Product/Timber/Sheet-Material/White-Melamine-Shelving+Furniture-Panels/c/1515000

    Great vid....yes, a build like this always includes a little trial and error..Was wondering if you put any lock nuts under neath on the screws that level the top plate off. i would think that vibration would change the plate height. I had this happen to me where the part of the plate came up and snagged/caught my work piece. just a question/suggestion.

    Goodness. Is that one of those rare as rocking horse poo Triton routers? You could sell that and get a complete new workshop! I'd had one on back order for six months, but gave up and bought a Bosch GOF1600. Not quite as table mounting friendly, and a bit more expensive than the Triton, but there's no sign of the TRA001 ever becoming available - especially in the 240V version - and I'd had enough waiting. I've used a TRA001 at my Menz Shed for three or four years and love it. I also used the MOF001 for a while before we gifted it to a new Shed starting out. I am sure you have had good use out of yours for this past three years.

    • @holzhandwerk_ak
      @holzhandwerk_ak  Před 3 lety

      Hi Trevor - I got it a couple of years ago and it was no problem getting it. I didn’t know it was so hard to come be nowadays … but that explains why this video gets much fewer views these days than it used to.

    You should make a tool caddy the full length of the fence that also works as a fence for the router so you can do more with your bits.

    • @holzhandwerk_ak
      @holzhandwerk_ak  Před 4 lety +1

      I agree. A proper fence has long been on the list. But as I’m planning to build an assembly table combined with a router table at some point, I’ve been holding it off.

    Tolles Video, ich habe der Gleiche System aber mit den Bosch GMF 1600 CE, ich glaube mit der Triton Router ist einfach, die Höhe des Bits einzustellen, aber mit den Bosch kann man das Motor wechsel und sowohl Tauchfräser als auch Oberfräsentisch.

      Dear Sir,
      Thank you very much for your hearted response. To see a workbench being made, I would hazard to guess that you may do it in several episodes in order to document it's construction & it's special features for your need. The brown covered ply is quite common in Belgium but no so much in the UK ( I've never seen it); it really looks very clean & it's surface lends itself rather well I think for router & saw tables. It will most interesting as to what design, materials & functions your dream bench will be made of. Cannot wait to see it's birth. Kind regards.

    Great job ! Am preparing to integrate my Triton on my workbench and am looking for advices: as I see in your video, I would also like to do it with the Kreg pre holed plate, but my question is : the holes on the plate are made to fix the router NOT oriented parallel nor perpendicular to the plate ? Am I right ? Or is it because you drilled your holes on specific places to turn a bit your router ? Thansk for your answer, because I still have no idea where the holes are on the Kreg plate and so don't know if I buy it or not.

    • @holzhandwerk_ak
      @holzhandwerk_ak  Před 2 lety +1

      The pre-drilled holes make the router sit at about a 45-degree angle. I suppose it’s because of the placement of the height adjustment and the exit port of the dust collection.
