The Cribs are an English three-piece indie rock band originally from Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The band consists of twins Gary and Ryan Jarman and their younger brother Ross Jarman. They were subsequently joined by ex-The Smiths and Modest Mouse guitarist Johnny Marr who was made a formal member of the group in 2008. Marr would remain as part of the band until 2011; his departure was officially announced on 11 April through the band's website. Despite returning to the original trio, the band currently enlists David Jones of Nine Black Alps as a second guitarist for live shows. The band, who first became active on the concert circuit in 2002, were initially tied to other like-minded UK bands of that time, most notably The Libertines, by a British music press that were looking for a 'British rearguard' to the wave of popular US alternative rock bands of the time. They had outgrown this tag by the time of the commercial success of their third LP. In 2008, Q magazine described the band as "The biggest cult band in the UK".

Every time I read a negative comment about this band I get truly angry, it's noticeable they gave a boost towards a new way to blend rock with alternative and you should have figured out their efforts made the alternative scene reach a new dimension, like The Cribs triggered the passion to make music again and not to stick to the commercial rubbish you can easily find on MTV. It's so tough when you pull off a sincere and groundbreaking album and the keenest fans will praise your efforts and your dedication as if they could be willing to accept whatever you release. They keep being underrated because a chunk of the listeners decided to get far from the outstanding music, from the music you should deem right and emotional; that's why you overlook the power of a new stream and the emotions a thorough album may spread. I feel like I wanna be grabbed and shocked by this music and every new track is a reward to the fans and an inkling of innovation suitable for the success. Attempt taking a listen to this band! Some of you are gonna love this blockbuster genre!
they have always been a punk band there most commercially succesful album, men's needs women's needs whatever was just toned and tightened through the production process to make it more listenable for the masses,the formula they use to write songs has never really changed.
