Great! Thanks for the easy tutorial. I'm just getting into slot cars and starting with an analog track. I was just checking for how to eventually install a digital chip. I just happened to buy the Mario Kart Evolution as my starter set so it was very serendipitous to find this vid right away. Totally prepared!
Hi Travis, great video, certainly for folks in Europe, Slot Car Union seems to always have plenty of digital chips of all kinds in stock if anyone is having trouble locating some.
Yep, I love Slot Car Union (based in the South of France) Whilst you are in the Germanic parts my tip would be to pick up a handful of Frankenslot 'mustard' Carrera guides which, as we know, simply snap in and out of modern Carreras with a quick tug of the plyers. Their NSR ones help on Carrera track too. They are only around 2 Euros a pop and, if you ask me, present a quieter and smoother feel on Carrera track. The Frankenslot Digital Speedflow which, for analogue, wirelessly pairs with their analogue Speedflow Powerbase is what I use and is the best quality and the stuff of legends. There's 5A automotive blade fuses if you accidentally short circuit to boot. It is expensive mind. You can otherwise pair it with a Carrera Digital wireless dongle or simply clip an old phone style spring wire connector into the power base which, I imagine, is where the 'Triple' comes in. Unfortunately, no-one seems to have done an English language know how video on this. Roland at slotblog.de who does an excellent piece but in German which is where this kit is mainly targeted Correspondingly, Frohes neues Jahr und hoffen wir, das ist gut wird (to paraphrase John Lennon in German - lol).
@@thatslotcarguy you definitely did my friend 🤠 cheers!🎊🎊 it's gonna be a hoot to see (could we be so lucky) all the Mario kart characters racing around the track 😃
Does anyone know what the white plugs that the carrera chips are called. Got to convert some old scalextric cars over and will need to fit plugs onto wiring so don't have to butcher the plugs off the carrera board.
I See there’s a lot of difference digital chips. What’s are the different, just the form so they can fit in different slot car size ? Or something else ?
@@thatslotcarguy thank you for you respond I’m getting seriously into slot cars and my father has and old carrera exclusiv race track from 2003 I’m pretty sure I will need this wire for the conversion but this seems difficult to find in Europe
Greetings: How do I know what the right chip is to turn this car into a digital for my 1:32 scale Carrera track: Carrera 27662 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Grasser Racing Team No.82 1:32 Scale Analog Slot Car Racing Vehicle for Carrera Evolution Slot Car Race Tracks. Thank you
Hey can any Carrera analog car be converted to digital with a chip even if it’s old like in the early 2000s or later? Because I’m planning on converting a 1/32 Ferrari 575 gtc (2003-2004) to digital

Happy new year mate
Thanks for sharing bro and so cool slot car bro
Mate. Will this work with any analog car such as scalextric, revell monogram, slot it etc?
Great tutorial.
G'day mate, it will but you would have to choose up the chassis to make it fit
@@thatslotcarguy cheers thanks

Could intimidate hobbyists. BUT with all the videos showing it can be easier than some think.
Just so my friend 🤠
I'm hoping it shows how easy it could be

Sure wish HO had better lane changing options instead of stuff from the 70's 80's

So the older cars pre digital starting will need to be modified to fit a chip as the chassis were not designed to fit one
@@thatslotcarguy modified in what way? And how old are the ones that need to be modified like what years
The Cars seem a little slow. Or were you running them slow?
I had them both on ghost mode so I could film
These absolutely fly
@@thatslotcarguy Got it, thought maybe they had them tuned down for kids to run.
