I'm a Finn Balor mark since prince devitt days. This made me mad and sad for him. He not only has been buried since winning the title and got hurt the same night, sent to NXT which is like being sent to AAA, has the rope breaks on him.

Wwe and its crappy booking if its wrestlers, I remembered at one point Damien Sandow and Rusev got over on their own, won over the crowd, Vince buried them. You can't get over unless Vince wants you to.
Finn has been one of my favorite in-ring talents since his Prince Devitt days in NJPW. It kills me to see him getting booked like this in WWE
The ending of the match was so flat. When the music played and Finn popped up like a hot cake.. I thought “ And Finn was possessed by New Jack “😂😂 *cues Natural Born Killaz*
I just rolled my eyes when I saw it as it happened. The Demon gets up from the spear through the barricade like it was nothing, but the top rope breaking is what stops him? That was not worse that going through a barricade. The other problem is Finn is a small guy. The top rope would not break with his weight. He is not The Big Show, Yokozuna, or Mark Henry.
I was expecting Mr. Cornette to have an all-time rant because of the supernatural stuff which he hated The Fiend for and the stuff I mentioned and he missed the fact that it is looking like they are going to bring religion into it that God or some kind of higher power caused the rope to break and now Roman will think God is on his side.
I don't think that kind of God will be welcome in Saudi , tho
Or Heyman planned it because he knows Finn does a top rope finisher.

I really don’t understand why in a no DQ match the heel wouldn’t just start the match by kicking his opponent’s crotch and gouging his eyes? Why wait to the end of the match to cheat and not straight away if it’s all fair?

@@aarnethn Looking back at it, Demon should have been knocked out, instead of blowing a knee. Reigns should have acted shocked, asking Heyman what happened. Heyman would have just looked shocked and told Reigns to just pin Demon (no spear needed) now and ask questions later.
To me this was as bad as the aew exploding ring. Vince has started he wants to make movies, and this is how it should be if you want to make wrestling into movies, but don't fucking end it like this. I don't care what you do, if you can't stick the landing than why the fuck does anything else matter.

The ending was about protecting the Demon character, plain and simple. Honestly, it would have been a great moment for The Fiend to return, 2 mystical characters, BUT you know. Plus Roman with his mask on to fight in the crowd was great, simply cause you know he is immunocompromised and it is still dangerous for him to be performing in these conditions, folks tend to forget that. It was funny.

That finish has been used in old school matches. And Cornette was right about it being used in this match, it would have been better if it was done in a regular match, not this one.

I can't take Finn balor seriously at all 😒 . He's supposed to be a "demon" but he's not intimidating or scary like undertaker or Kane. This didn't help anyone. Finn balor doesn't look like a threat. And reigns doesn't look like he can do anything against Lesnar because he struggled to beat a 170 man in body paint.🙄🤦♂️

He's beaten other big men. He just pinned Lashley on Raw. He also put McIntyre and Strowman to sleep. Let's not forget he did finally beat Lesnar at SummerSlam 2018.

Everything Jim said is spot on. And Brian’s right, if they were gonna do the dumb red light/superpower gimmick, at least Balor should go over. Otherwise figure out something else. Over the last 15 years, WWE has gotten so used to this type of booking, I legit don’t think they could do anything else even if they wanted to. At least AEW gets some things right.

I literally turned this ppv on to catch the last 10 mins, and proceeded to watch the worst finish ive ever seen in the history of wrestling, and there have been awful finishes but this one takes the cake. It looked beyond phony.

Demon Balor losing because of a “broken turnbuckle” you could easily hear the noise it made when they electronically made them break. The Demon was always supernatural and had the red light long before The Fiend.
I never recall it being supernatural , it was just balor using demon paint to put him in a different state of mind. It was never that he actually became a demon lol Vince always has to take it to far

The Demon was always sold as Finn allowing himself to be possessed, he gains power, but over time loses some of himself, that's why he can't do it all the time.

When the Demon vs Seth Rollins, there was no red light or heart beat. Demon wasn’t supernatural gimmick.
You're wrong about one thing Jim, people wanting to see Roman vs Brock. That match already happened multiple times over, we've seen it we know what it looks like and we know what will happen. The people excited for it are the people who haven't seen the previous matches between the two.
Aside from Mysterio (I guess) and Edge , Roman has been having technically rematches from previous years , only he has more beard and a frown , and ocasionally sounds like his cousin when he speaks

@Elias Johnson That's the problem. They haven't built up anyone else to beat him(part timers excluded). In Vince's mind it's "how do I elevate roman but bury everyone else?".
At this point, I think reigns should only defend the championship at WrestleMania similar to how undertaker would only fight a different opponent at each Mania. While they do that, utilize the talents on their roster and make a tournament for both brands building up every year to see which "superstar" is worth being in the same ring as reigns. Get rid of the PPV gimmicks too!

Finn Balor at NXT: bad boy world champion
Finn Balor at main roster: reincarnation of the The Fiend
NXT had a lot of 170 - 200lb wrestlers. Top WWE guys are bigger. Doesn't make sense for a guy that small to dominate in WWE like he did in NXT.
@@galereed5603 You're correct, and I never wanted him to beat Roman. I don't even see a reason for this to be dragged on for so long. He only stepped up to Roman when Roman turned down John Cena's challenge, and Finn didn't get his shot because Cena signed the contract in his place. That started and ended there as far as I know. He can be booked better though. He shouldn't be involved with supernatural goofiness, he is good as he is. And as you said, he was dominant in NXT so no point in taking him from there.
I wish there was videos of how Jim would book this.

The problem with the Reigns vs Lesnar match is wwe already did it a couple of Wrestlemanias ago, and Reigns kicked out of 4 o 5 F5's. Too many near falls and kicking out of finishers.
That's something I hate about modern wrestling. Finishers should be just that; the finishing move of a match. If Arn Anderson hits you with a spinebuster, it should be a 3 count. Same with a tombstone, or F5, or whatever. Kicking out of finishers should be extremely rare, or end up with the one kicking out getting their ass beat and legs broken.

@@BookerUSAF what a dumb comment. Do your research. Roman vs Balor on SD did a bigger number in the demo and viewership than Roman vs Big E vs Lashley on Raw and New Day vs Bloodline. Balor is a legitimate star.
