Can You Reassemble Documents Cut by a Paper Shredder?

  • Is it possible to reassemble documents that have been sliced and diced by a shredder? It depends on the type of shredder used. Some more expensive shredders leave paper in smaller pieces because they cut horizontally and vertically. Those pieces are very difficult, but not impossible, to reassemble. Older model machines shred paper into long thin strips. Inside Edition staffers tried to get an idea of what FBI agents are facing as they attempt to reassemble the Michael Cohen evidence. #InsideEdition

      Yeah, sounds like the dumbest expertise ever. Steel bucket and gasoline just beats even the best shredder, even the confetti one as with enough effort and use of robotics and AI even that could be reconstructed fairly quickly if it was important enough. If you want it gone for good, do it like germans or soviets did :D

Either can burn it, or before shredding take permeant marker and scribble all over it, OR keep Ink or Paint nearby and once done pour some paint over it, or sprinkle Ink over it and mix it up. another thing, Take some of the shredding's, and move it to other shredders or other locations.

  • @Nathan35077
    @Nathan35077 Před rokem

    If you’re going to shred documents, do it right. Call a shredding company. I work at one, and we have shred trucks and go to the location and shred it right there, and it “chips” the paper. Into pieces about the size of a quarter or smaller, not strips, AND it mixes with paper already on the truck and paper we get after. Like 4,000lbs of tiny pieces of paper all mixed together. You will see a word here and there on each piece, but you’d NEVER put it back together 😂 if you’ve ever seen those videos online where people throw like an entire refrigerator into a giant metal shredder? It’s the same exact type of shredder, but ours is just a much smaller one. So if you want to destroy documents, do it right! However, laws (atleast here) make you wait 5 years to get rid of documents. It used to be 7, but I guess it changed to 5. Not sure what the law is exactly, as I’ve just been had people mention it while I’m working for them.
