Dear Katriinka, the woman in the glasses they showed is the one who adopted Diana from the Orphanage after her birth mother severely abused her until age 5. She then got her voice lessons to learn how to speak and sing. The line that made you say good choice scared one reactor who said it would give her NIGHTMARES. PLEASE react to her sing Human. The bald judge is Dimash's partner Igor Krutoy who after the show bought an apartment in Moscow for Diana and her adoptive family. I ALWAYS wear dresses but your outfit and choker are cute. I love Diana and this song in particular and I've seen at least 20 reactions and you are the first to identify the importance of mimic as a vocal strategy. I couldn't quite describe what I was hearing and what was so powerful and important in this performance. Thanks to your analysis I now know an important reason why this performance is special to me. I’m no music or voice teacher...I’m simply a fan. And, even at fifty-five years old, still have a healthy curiosity and a want to learn new things. Being a retired, single, father of the best (and grown) daughter any man could ask for, allows me to delve back into things that have always interested me. Being a fan of ALL music, this young lady has blown me away with her skills at such a young age. There’s a lot of similarities one can hear in her singing with that of Appalachian Folk, and of my own ancestry in Native American song. I’m glad you expounded upon what I thought was a bit of an “Eastern Mediterranean” flavor she has in her singing. “Slavic” was the word I was searching for to explain what I was hearing. What a GIFT she is for the rest of us to hear and enjoy. No doubt she “belongs” on stage. I hope that the adults who are guiding her remain true, and don’t take advantage of her. Whew...great stuff though. (And, besides being absolutely gorgeous yourself, you have a beautiful smile...don’t EVER stop doing that) Apologies for the “ratchet-jawing,” long comment...that sort of thing happens when you get old lol.

If I understand the way it works for "You are Super" .. three judges hit the button and the singer .. may .. advance to next round? Had to understand translated comments but I think only some of those advance .. if all four judges press the button then the singer advances for sure to the next round. In any case there is no necessity to press the buzzer other than before they finish singing the current round.

Diana was born May 2003. 31 in Arsenyev in the Far East Russia. She didn't have a happy start in life. The woman, who gave her birth, had 12 pregnancies, only Diana survived... and she did not want Diana either, mistreated her severely and tried to drown her. Relatives found the girl with a broken collarbone on the street and took the 3-year-old girl to a children's home shortly thereafter. Only then did she find love ... from Irina Ponik. She worked as a massage therapist and treated children from the orphanage. Irina Ponik and her daughter Nastya fell in love with Diana and took her out of the orphanage. Irina had two children of her own. Taking a child into the family was of course not easy for her... but she adopted Diana at the age of 5 and became, as I call it, Diana's 'real mother'. Diana has lived in a poor but loving family ever since. Since she was lagging in her speech development and even stuttered, she received singing lessons on the advice of a doctor.
In 2012, the family moved thousands of kilometers away, to Togliatti, because Diana did not let go of the fear, that the woman, who gave her birth, would take her away.
Diana's voice and sense of rhythm were extraordinary even as a child and she won over 50 competitions in Togliatti and the surrounding area. Her confidence grew, her voice continued to develop, and Diana's stage costumes swallowed up the family budget. So, her mother completed a sewing course and has been sewing all the clothes herself since then.
One day Diana was advised to take part in competitions further away, so that the other children also had a chance to win.
Diana convinced with her talent and her voice in numerous national and international competitions, the Chinese competition for young artists and the competition.

To the general surprise, none of the judges turned around but the whole audience gave 'standing ovation'. The next day, a huge scandal broke out on the Internet. People demanded for Diana's participation in the competition.
In 2018 and 2019, a unique international competition 'You are Super', especially for adopted and orphaned children, was launched in Moscow, which Diana won. These performances were broadcast nationwide, uploaded to CZcams and made Diana known worldwide. She now has any Millions of fans all over the world.
In the Kremlin Palace takes place the final of the international singing competition for children 'You are super!'. The winner of the season is determined by a 6-day viewer vote.
Igor Krutoi, mentor and jury member of the competition, gifted Diana an apartment in Moscow. So, she could continue her vocal training with the best teachers such as Professor Olga Donskaya (videos on CZcams).
The break of voice made her voice darker and deeper. She worked hard to get the lost high notes back and expand her vocal range. She likes to paint and draw, so much that we can be glad that she decided to sing… but have you noticed that she only holds a microphone in her right hand? But she's not just a great singer, she's also a humble young woman, who loves her family and appreciates, what they sacrifice for her. Her Russian fans chosen Diana as "National Treasure" (no official title).
She is about to graduate from school and then wants to start university. She recently absolved the entrance exam for the Russian Theater Arts Institute (GITIS) in Moscow, Pop department. She also wants to learn to compose and arrange her own songs.
In her home studio, she is currently experimenting (Corona time) a lot with different music genres and performing on both large and small stages.

Это НЕ колыбельная. Это песня плакальщицы на свадьбе (если я не ошибаюсь), когда сироту выдавали замуж. В песне девушка сирота приходит к реке (не в лес) чтобы попросить благословения у своей покойной матушки. Именно голос матери звучит в самом начале таким скрипучим и пугающим. У нас у славян река - это связь мира живых и мертвых. Танцующие вокруг Дианы фигуры - это водяные и русалки. Девушка поет, что в ее доме много женихов, а у нее нет ни матери, ни отца чтобы благословить ее. Я бы еще отметил что ее великолепный йодль изображает плач девушки . Диана проживает эту песню, так как у нее самой очень сложная история с биологической матерью, которая била и даже топила ее, а потом бросила на улицу. Thank you so much for your reaction to this Folk song. This isn't Diana's own song. At one time, it was performed by Soviet pop diva Alla Pugacheva, in a more rock/jazz style. This is NOT a lullaby. This is the song of the mourner at the wedding (if I am not mistaken), when the orphan was given in marriage. In the song, an orphan girl comes to the river (not to the forest) to ask for a blessing from her late mother. It is the mother's voice that sounds so squeaky and frightening at the very beginning. In our Slavs, the river is the link between the world of the living and the dead. The figures dancing around Diana are water and mermaids. The girl sings that there are many suitors in her house, and she has no mother or father to bless her. I would also note that her magnificent yodel depicts a girl crying . Diana lives this song because she herself has a very complicated history with her biological mother, who beat and even drowned her, and then threw her on the street. Diana ended up in a children's Boma, where her current mother worked as a masseur. She adopted a frightened child and helped develop her singing talent. Diana says that "Rechenka" is the most difficult song for her, both vocally and emotionally, and she rarely sings it at concerts. Only if you only need to sing it.

@@monolit73 Это скорее из западной культуры, нежить всякая там, упыри. Насколько мне известно у древлян эти персонажи не носили такого ярко выраженного негативного оттенка. Это были просто соседи, на вроде западных современных гномов эльфов там всяких и им подобные.
