    this treatment has made such a difference with my hair, it's amazing! I have very different hair texture than you - really fine, straight, weak hair. but ever since I've started applying the different oil treatments it's so much stronger and shinier! I don't even have brush it really because it doesn't get tangled anymore. THANK YOU for sharing!!

    Yay! I am so excited you decided to join #teamnoscissors . I started #teamnoscissors on my CZcams and Instagram going on two years now. Its amazing to see that it has already started to work for so many people! I, myself have not cut my hair in over 7 years and I know its possible to have long healthy hair without requiring frequent trims or haircuts! Thank you Alba for sharing your journey with us! I cant wait to see your results! It may take years to reach tailbone length but it is possible! Patience along with natural hair care as you outlined is key!

I have a friend who has really dry, damaged hair and when I put castor oil on her hair she says it's really soft and feels healthier. Also, if you're trying to grow thicker eyebrows or anything like that castor oil helps!

    This summer I started using less heat but on August 7 I completely gave up heat styling tools. My hair has grown and I'm ahhhhmazzzed! Last year when my hair would air dry it would be dry and damaged but looked long so I didn't mind, I just used A LOT of product to make it look healthy again. Now my hair is super defined but looks quite short due to shrinkage but I love it dearly. I don't think I'm going to give up heat completely but I'm going to be more mindful of how I treat my hair from here on out. Also I'ld like to thank you for your videos, when I was younger you were my first curly hair role model and I felt proud that we shared the same hair type and that we resemble one another in a way (I come from a predominately white area and I was the only girl in my grade for a long time to have curly hair and tanned skin). This wasn't just a curly hair recovery journey for me but it was me accepting who I am and who I want to be. Thank you for that spark of inspiration.

    Alba, you should try this method of cleansing the oil: it's UCPE - umectar, condicionar, pausar, enxaguar (brazilian for "putting the oil", "putting conditioner", "pause", "rinse"). Basically, you put the oil, do the routine normally of massaging and waiting the time you want for the oils to work. then you use a conditioner (without any silicons, or mineral oils) on the hair without water. put the conditioner on ALL the hair, scalp to tip, and massage some minutes. "pause" for like 20 to 30 minutes, and rinse your hair. If you want to, you can use de conditioner again to really Cleanse the scalp. this method helps to not taking away the benefits of the oils on the hair without using sulfates from the shampol. and It doesn't leave the hair oily, even my sister who have straight hair do this method and It Works.

    I am just now catching this challenge. I just moved to Seattle where it rains a ton. So straight hair is not going to work well (much frizz) I decided this would be a good time for curls. & being that I cut my hair this summer I could grow it out. Your challenge is just what I need. So starting tonight I measure the length and give up heat. However since I am so far behind on the challenge if you can start again in Jan or Dec when this 6 months ends. I will start now but I will love to go the 6 months with you all as well. So yes please make a year and start the second six months again so us new comers can join a new cohort. & Thank you for loving your natural beauty. It's hard to do in a world like our right now. You're very inspiring.

      Keep in mind that if your hair was once longer it can be longer again and there are many other factors in lifestyle that contribute to longer hair. For example, your use of heat, chemicals in stylers, alcohol, and your diet. All contribute to how different everyone's end results may be. We will surely all see improvement but it'll be interesting to see the differences. Find more details on my blog www.SunKissAlbaBlog.com

    I get a lot of shrinkage. My hair is about nipple length lol but it shrinks up to my shoulders. But I recently discovered it has grown because my hair was at least to where my armpit starts? Idk how to explain it but I was so surprised because I felt like my hair just stopped growing. But I'll definitely invest in some of these oils and I wanna try that shampoo brush because its all the hype right now.

    love this information, my hair use to be down to the middle of my back until I was 11 of age then my mother didn't want to do my hair any longer, she had it cut, had it permed, and just simply let other people do my hair. once I was grown I've always missed my length, but never new what it took to keep it how I remembered, so now this brought back a lot of hair remedies my mother had used, and now I'm up for the challenge! mainly of getting my hair back and feeling better than ever, because I can be myself from now on, instead of feeling like I have to be and look like everyone else. Much love, and see you soon! with my updates

      What I usually do and works great for me is I get my hair wet and put conditioner on it and seal it with oil. It protects your hair from soaking up too much salt water or chlorine. It's also good to use a sunblock for hair to prevent your hair from lighting but I don't do that. After wards my hair it's easily de tangled and I just do my regular routine. 😉

      Correct, but different oils act very differently in my hair and on my scalp. I use olive oil alone, and coconut oil alone in my hair, but my scalp REALLY loves the mixture. My hair grows faster, feels softer, and retains moisture better. As I said, it's well worth the investment for ME. You may feel differently for YOU.

    For all those that find this recipe expensive because of all the oils included, this video does cover the BASICS needed to grow healthy hair. Alba has her favorite oils and this is her spin on a healthy, hair growth oil. You can still use some of the great oils she suggested, making sure it is organic and unrefined for more potency and benefits. These are only a few important tips the video is talking about:
    1) To grow long, healthy hair you need to keep your hair moisturized frequently. Dry hair is prone to breakage, damage, dandruff and dry scalp. That's not going to get your hair long nor healthy.
    2) A good scalp massage is essential to hair growth because it stimulates blood circulation and distributes nutrients well into your hair roots (like manure/fertilizer lol)
    3) Don't deep cleanse or deep condition too often. You don't want to strip your hair of its nutrients nor do you want to over-moisturize your hair for it will lose its elasticity and strength.
    4) Bonus: You'll also notice strong, healthy nail growth from doing this often because the oils have the nutrients and moisture that your nails love too.
    5) Note: This journey should be therapeutic and about "making love" to your hair. It's taking time to love and take care of yourself, NOT a chore. Give yourself those few moments to take care of you, unwind, meditate, listen to your favorite music, dance (if you can multitask), and just have fun with it. It's about dedication and routine, not seriousness and misery. :D

    whats the difference between black castor oil vs the light one

      The beans are roasted & boiled giving you the black castor oil, the cold press is yellow

    • @abovealloddscam8122
      @abovealloddscam8122 Před 7 lety

      Black Velvet I'm still trying to figure that one out. I like the cold press because it doesn't smell as nutty as the jbco however the jbco less expensive so I use it more, also some unscrupulous persons put salt in jbco which causes unbearable itching/burning to some consumers not to mention hair loss. So if in doubt go cold press. I trust my suppliers so I don't have an issue.
      hope this helps

    I just bought a bottle of mielle organics vitamins. A bottle that's big enough to hold 2 liters of water. I might rebraid my hair or buy some weave to do a protective style. And my next pay check is going towards all these oils. I'm starting everything after I big chop and I'm kicking off the week with the inversion method. It's going down I'm suuuuuper excited to see the results. Thankyou so much for this video and your channel actually.

    What about the inversion hair method?

    • @Hersheychocolate12
      @Hersheychocolate12 Před 9 lety

      ***** No. Its just that I hear hot oil helps hair growth but turns out the oil loses its nutrients according to alba. So I don't know which one I should do the inversion or this.

    Love your videos, Alba, but I think that might be too much rosemary and peppermint essential oil for that amount of oil. Those are really potent EO's and can fry curly hair for some people. Also, for those who can't afford all the oils listed, you don't need all those oils to stimulate hair growth. I would try mixing just the jojoba, castor and coconut. Then you can use the leftover oils in each bottle as makeup remover, eyelash growth serum, coconut for cooking, and jojoba for facial moisturizer (coconut works for some people as a facial moisturizer and acne treatment but gives other acne. try it for more than a week or two and see what happens. Acne at first is very possible as your skin is purifying toxins).
