I love club random but this is one of the shallowest episodes ever. Kris just never lets anything slip! She didn't give any personal stories except plugging her show over and over. 😂😂
I was excited for this episode because I thought she would get drunk like she usually does. But I guess that’s only in safe spaces and she didn’t feel safe, she was very guarded. And like you said, she was just plugging her brand.

It's just that he's so fkg proud of himself drinking and smoking (and constantly interrupting) like the Catholic school boy who got some freedom. Nobody gives a fck, Maher.
I think when you live alone and don't have a partner, it's easy to just do what you want and not many people tell you to slow down. He did say friends did years ago but most will surround themselves with people who indulge the same way. He always seems mystified when people like myself, who don't drink much are on his show and don't smoke etc. He talks about his stringent diet, no fun foods except chips for munchies but fills his body with alcohol and his lungs with smoke. With all he has, the acres of land, money, black book, he seems lonely to me. I don't know why but he does and I don't know if at 66 you can learn to have one relationship but it's his life and I hope he stays well.
I love that he has all types of people on his podcast. I'm surprised she went on considering she had to know all the things he's said about the Kardashians. She got even with him by talking nonstop about her kids and grandkids. He must have been dying inside!

A lot of this show is tedious because Maher gets really brain fogged due to all the booze and weed. It's like being in a freshman dorm. He gets a good variety of people though.

Then it occurred to me that she is the first Club Random guest to come with her own cameraman, to get footage for for "Keeping Up" (or whatever their show is called now). She was very guarded and seemed to hold back. She doesn't lose her TV persona ever, I guess it's hard since that's her brand. It was interesting to see the interaction between the two of them at least.

Thats what I like about this interview. That she doesnt know anything about Bill apart from the basics, so she is just being herself. Some interviewees tend to pander to what they think he wants them to be like or say. I dont know anyting about this lady (not a kardashian fan), but she seems pretty cool for an ulta-rich lady.
You never know. Sometimes these “permanent” bachelors sneak off and have a baby with their young bride.
In my opinion, Kris Jenner has always had a mission / an agenda, which was , and still is, to keep people interested in her whole family, their hook-ups and grandkids all of whom she has always pushed to be “entertaining”.
Her oldest daughters’ marriages I strongly feel were entered into because Momager wanted them all to be in the public eye, ALWAYS AND FOREVER.
Fame is everything to the fame hungry.
Kristen Houten Kardashian Jenner was urged to marry well by her mummy and become one of those Ladies Who Lunch in Beverly Hills, Brentwood and Bel Air, preferably.
And, that is exactly what she did. Kristen strategised. She was cagey, and clever. She had her eyes on the prize on down the road, and she never lost sight of her goal, seems to me.
This women spawned the seeds that destroyed a few generations of women.
A true demon.
I swear I hate this family. I am raising 2 young girls. They're now teenagers and think the are ugly, fat, thier hair isn't pretty, nails aren't right. Everything they can see, they have a problem with. And they glamorize these women. Even though not a single one of them are real. They are fake from top to bottom. Young girls see these women and think this is what they should look like. How about show us your surgeries. All of them. Then I will have some respect.

A lot of people judge the Kardashians without ever even watching their show or getting to know them as humans. They aren't perfect but they are human, they work hard, have a strong family and are actually hilarious.

Bill has the greatest variety of guests with prominence. This was the most lackluster one so far. Not his fault, and I don’t blame him for bringing her on, but you could tell Kris was on a different page because they live in different worlds. He always tries to find common ground but it is quite apparent that there is very little here. But the great thing about podcasts is there is always the next one.
Maybe next time he can bring Ron Jeremy or Martin Shkreli or Kanye or Alex Jones, all in the name of variety!

This is probably my least favorite Club random so far. Most the time it comes across as a genuine conversation this came across as guarded and not genuine basically the entire time. Bill was fine bill was himself Kris Jenner doesn't have an unguarded side.

This is a great concept for a talk show …. It feels like the audience is a ‘fly on the wall’. I think Bill and his guests actually forget the cameras are on them.
She might not know much about you Bill, but this lady is a PRO and knows EXACTLY where the cameras are. She even turned to the one facing her and winked into it, ha ha!

I wasn't initially that interested in listening this week because I don't watch the Kardashian show, but I thought I'd at least give her a chance. I was somewhat surprised and I'm glad that I made the effort. It wasn't the most thought provoking and illuminating conversation, but it doesn't have to be. It was a good conversation between 2 people that like each other and that's sometimes all you need to be entertained.
Yet Kris knew nothing about him. I feel like he is well known for being a bachelor and not liking kids. She could’ve at least made a little effort to brush up on who she was meeting with.

This was like and awkward 1st date she looked so nervous and he was really trying to make her comfortable but she sure is a beautiful woman just shows in America you don't have super smart or interesting to be rich. Maybe she just wasn't able to let her gaurd down or felt he was to intellectual for her. I kinda see know why she has the boy friend she has before this interview I would've thought she should be with man like Bill being at her level and all. However I still enjoyed watching
Oh I just loved this show with you and Kris...thoroughly enjoyed. The interaction between the two of you was intriguing and funny. And Bill...I am not enamored with kids either probably because my Mom had eight and I was the oldest!! Diapers and bottles since I was seven. I am enjoying my life "kid free"!!!!! You make me feel normal, breakfast at noon! Too funny.
I continue to love this podcast/videos for the unlikely guests one would expect. Definitely random but inclusive and eye opening. We can all get along and learn from each other.

Why? Why interview the momager of the Kardashians? Because she is worth billions? Because she represents the widening & immoral gap between the wealthy & middle class/working poor? What makes the Kardashians more valuable than others such as nurses or teachers … billions more? I don’t understand the world that determines economic worth by rewarding the Kardashians almost unimaginable wealth for such insignificant contributions to our world?
I’ve only just watched a conversation between Kris and Caitlin about how the VFair article upset her and....
Caitlin just did not listen to anything Kris said, discounted her distress and just made it about anything else.
I really felt sad for Kris, she had been supportive and navigated her adult children whilst keeping herself together.
A relationship of decades was just so minimised in that article and her emotional distress is entirely valid.
She has to grieve the man that she loved whilst getting to know the woman Caitlin now is and that’s not something that will happen in a month or even six months.
I don’t watch ANY of these programs but I saw an old clip tonight of their conversation on “I am Cait” and I really felt so badly for Kris, just so sad for her. For her sharing her emotions ON television and then those emotions just being dismissed and actually questioned. I so hope that this has been resolved by now, but sadly I doubt it.
Caitlin is a bitch. Highly dislike her. I am not against trans people (my son is trans), but she just seems to go out of her way to make snide/bitchy comments.
It seems that strong, independent women, like Kris, find themselves attached to men who are content to let their partner lead. Some women feel the need to be in control of every aspect of theirs, and the people close to their lives. I’m not trying to bash Kris, or Caitlyn here. It’s just an observation I’ve made. I truly believe many women, like Kris, long for a man who is able to take over some of the things that she feels only she is capable of doing “right”. At the same time, they’re with a partner who is unwilling (or unable) to ever stand up to her. I remember old Keeping Up episodes, where it was obvious Caitlyn (then Bruce, Kris’ husband) held zero authority in their household. I won’t pretend to have ever known Kris’ husband would later transition to Caitlyn, but there was always such an awkward imbalance in their relationship. I’m a stubborn woman with my own trust issues. My first boyfriend let me walk all over him. I wasn’t right to have done it, but his inability to ever stand up to me taught me that I had no choice but to carry the weight of all the decisions and demands placed on us. Had that relationship not ended, I’d never have met the man who’s been my husband for 13 years now. The man who I trust to be always looking out for me, and for our family. I’d have continued down the path that was making me appear cold, hard, and distant. Kris is a successful woman, with kids and grandkids she’s clearly very proud of. Still, I suspect she quietly longs for someone to help her “lighten the load she carries on her own”. For this reason, I have empathy and compassion for her, when people criticize and judge her for the way she comes across to an audience.

I also remember noticing how back in those early years Bruce would be awkwardly sitting in the background, never really contributing in any meaningful or assertive way. But I have only ever seen a handful of their programs.
I think that you’re spot on about Kris holding it all together and also just wanting to feel like she is supported etc - you described it well.
If you’re able to find the video of Kris and Caitlin, where Kris is trying to tell Caitlin how much the Vanity Fair article Caitlin did had upset her, you should watch it.
I just really saw Kris being genuinely vulnerable and upset, but Caitlin was just not acknowledging Kris’s emotions one bit. The dynamic between them was totally different and .... I don’t know, I just really felt for Kris in that moment.
