    In fairness not a bad Rangers side either .That Celtic side would have walked in to the top 4 in England at the time. Pity the tv money has fucked everything up

      No one mentioned EBTs.Rangers spent more money than they had coming in hence the debts they accumulated but could not pay.Not sure how pointing out the obvious is bitterness but an interesting concept what with Celtic being on a sound financial footing and humping Rangers regularly these days.

      @jixuscrixus1967 Před 4 lety +2

      Dave Dante: we all know how the EBT’s worked out and that Celtic paid all their taxes, how about the dual contracts?
      And then you let your club die.....

    How on earth did we manage to throw the league away that season. One of our best ever and nothing to show for it. Still great memories!

    • @emperorreign6154
      @emperorreign6154 Před 7 lety +2

      Ian Clark I still can't fathom it. Yes it didn't help that Dunfermline literally lay down for them on the final day, but we should never have been in that position in the first place. Just shows that a fantastic European run can also have its negatives on the home front.

    • @emperorreign6154
      @emperorreign6154 Před 7 lety +4

      Dave Dante whether he was bitter or not, Sutton was 100% spot on. Dunfermline practically bent over for deadco.

    • @The160879
      @The160879 Před 6 lety

      Whenever Sutton gets on my nerves with his anti Rangers agenda I just think back to his post match interview after Rangers won the League I’m 2003. So so good getting it right up that big prick. He was so gutted he just couldn’t take it. Such a bad bad loser. He said Dunfermline lies down. Then Porto beat Celtic fair and square and they cheated as their dives won. So in the space of a week Dunfermline and Porto both cheated Celtic. Always cheated and never defeated. Celtic had a great season that year and won some big big games they had a great team which punched way above their weight especially in Europe but the fixtures caught up with them. Fast forward to 2008 and Rangers has the same problem albeit Rangers won league cup and Scottish Cup. I will give Celtic credit for having a go in UEFA Cup final as Rangers didn’t, but can you blame Smith as his Plan had worked all season by keeping it tight. If I’m gna go down the road of being cheated then I would say “did The Old dirk game at New Year really need to be postponed due to the death of Phil O’Donnell? I’d say no, in fact a minutes silence and a right good hard and fair Old Firm encounter would have been more his style. By postponing this game with the form Rangers were in probably cost them the league and the SFA not playing ball (surprise suprise) with regard to fixture overload. Celtic rallies and got the bit between their teeth deserving the title. I’m football you win some you lose some

      Patrick Burke I saw him play most weeks. I agree he’s a better rwb then what we have, but as an actual defender think hamed is better so far tho not completely proven yet cos of injuries. His best performances came in champions league and found it brilliant that the big clubs couldn’t handle him. Domestically and defensively wasn’t perfect but I do agree a great player on his day with frightening pace.
