Greetings from Ireland. Paddy Maine would be proud. This guy is a super soldier.
I’ve watched many Rhodesia podcasts. I’m ashamed how Europe treated these people.
    True heroes

    Really enjoyed the whole trilogy.
Congratulations to you on a very well presented account. What a great man and an invaluable insight into the men who served and to those who didn’t return. I was absolutely gripped all the way. You should probably look at doing more of this stuff. It’s very enjoyable when the interviewer understands the topic & subject

Mike is a compex man but great operator.
I completely understand his frustration with the psychologist who had no idea of the real military world.
    Worked on theoretical models.
Unless you been there don't judge

I understand the being aware/social awareness comments.
I’d like to say that behaviour is natural and there is nothing unusual about wanting to know what your options are if a situation arises.

Just remember, South Africa was gracious enough to take the Rhodesians in and give them work. There was more discipline in the SADF for a reason.
When we were on the parade ground in the morning there was a reason for it. Yes there was a prayer in the morning, so what? That was our tradition, you either fall in but to use that as an excuse to want to leave the SADF is a poor excuse.
Personally I think many Rhodesians used the SADF to get South African citizenship, free medical and housing.
You make it sound as if the South African Special Forces was an incompetent bunch.
We captured Russian tanks and gave it to Rhodesia and many more and then our Operators is called useless and would not to be anything without the Rhodesian SAS?
    Seriously?

Remember Mike is a South African and not a Rhodesian , so sounds like you are one of those arrogant South Africans who hated us Rhodesians out of jealousy or whatever …. we never went to SA for any hand outs in your opinion . Many Rhodesian soldiers of all descriptions joined the SADF by invitation from the SADF just like Mike was . It was SA who turned their backs on us Rhodesians to save your own backsides by siding with the Brit’s and Yanks to avoid sanctions . How did that work out for you lot now today ? 😂

I am surprised to see such a comment that has not been removed ! Totally insulting to so many Rhodesians who are good people . Disgusting!

@@rhodesia1578before jumping straight to censorship do you have a rebuttal or do the mean words hurt too much to even try?

@@Littlegreyman well I responded to what I found offensive in what was said about Rhodesian people who immigrated to SA like my one brother did , he was never given any hand outs or free housing etc etc . My first response was deleted . People should not speculate or simply base their opinions on their personal feelings are for another nationality like Rhodesians . Base comments on fact not fiction is what I am saying. Because we were English speaking we were never excepted by the majority of South Africans .
