    This is a story about the bad and the brave and how an investigator on a dark journey exposes shocking secrets at the heart of the South African National Defence Force. It’s a story that starts on the Cape coast, and takes him from Simonstown in the Western Cape to Phalaborwa in the North and then to a military base in South Africa’s capital city, Pretoria. While still unresolved, the investigation exposes a grouping of elite soldiers and SANDF officials who appear to operate above the law, engaging in illegal campaigns involving torture, politics, spycraft and even murder.

    Big Up to special forces, there is a reason why they're called special forces is to deal with extreme matters such funding ISIS group which are a threat to RSA's sovereignty and stealing military grades weapons . criminals have turned this country into their playing field, one enters a military base and steals the weapons then you expect the defense force to carry on as if nothing happened, an apple does not fall far from a tree and the next thing we cry about people who get killed by guns on the streets daily and we blame the state security for not doing their work and when they do still they get blamed. Must they massage a suspect? stop been weak and manipulated so easily South Africans. let the people who are trained to protect this country do their work.

    Strange how people are misinterpretating counter terrorism operations as kidnappings? And the Lady R was delivering 7.62, used by SA Special Forces in their AKMs in Mozambique, so it makes sense that they were at the collection point of ammunition THEY WOULD BE USING. I will say that if the other story is true, everyone responsible must be held liable, I just find it strange that now when there's an issue like "assassinations" the SASF operators are regarded as elite, but as soon as they are working in combat zones they "Aren't what they used to be".

      "Elite" is relative.
      Years ago the Iraqi Republican Guard were described as the Elite I...R...G.... and while they might have been Elite in comparison to the rest of the rabble, objectively they never measured up.
      I fear a similar situation applies to today's units.

      @@markwillies7666 Not the case with our units, our "tier 1" assests are on par with the world's best. They are just very few in number and lack the funding that their international counterparts receive. If you compare based on budget you will see that SASF and STF are the best performing by a long shot, the STF is still in my opinion the best police unit in the world based on successful operations, deployment rotations, training and skills development, ect.

      @@reneroux2391 Sorry to burst your bubble, but ginger0208 is telling the truth.
      SASF and STF are annually called on to train with other elite units from around the world, like the SAS/SBS, Delta Force, SEALs, 75th Ranger Regiment, Green Berets, GIGN, GSG9, GROM, RAID, FBI HRT, etc etc etc. From what I've heard, every single one of these units have praised our tier 1 assets on their impeccable training, professionalism, and discipline.
      Side Note: One of my older cousins joined the French Foreign Legion. He told me that the French military has a great amount of respect for our tier 1 assets and also for some of our tier 2/3 assets such as the MARINES, Pathfinders, 7Med Bn Gp, 1 Tactical Intelligence Regiment, Parabats, and 6SAI.

    Like all organisations that fall under the direct control of the ANC government, the SANDF has been captured, and ANC cadres have been deployed into senior positions. The SANDF has the highest number of generals per members of any defence force in the world, with over 400 generals or equivalent level staff a grossly disproportionate number. Most of these political deployees are ANC cadres. As we approach an election year, we need to be mindful of this situation. My concern is that if the ANC were to lose power through the democratic process, they may seek to retain power through their political control of the military. You might think this is far fetched, but just remember that the ANC top 7 have all been and remain the subjects of investigation into very serious allegations of corruption and criminality, which they have hindered through their influence over the police force and judiciary. Don't believe that? Well what has become of the Zondo commission report recommendations?

    These journalists are always the first to complain when our security forces don't do anything, but when they do they go on to publicly expose their identities. They even said it themselves a member of ISIS on the CIA watch list, yet they complain when action is taken. And when last did we ever hear of a Islamic terrorist attack on South African soil, literary never, but yet we live in a continent filled with such attacks, yet we still complain.
    And what did they expect the military to do when someone walks into a military base and steals their weapons for criminal activities, and yet we complain when to government fails to stop the movement of illegal firearms in the country.
    And most importantly there is no evidence, just journalistic speculations. But I'm not surprised journalists in this country only care but the negatives, and making profit from fictional stories.

    I don't understand what's new here and why is this an issue because in all countries it's like this, we don't live in a perfect world so everything will always be like this, the police ain't Nothing but a gang, the army is gang, the national guard is a gang like everyone Does whatever to get ahead, arms trafficking doesnt affect any South African, perhaps people in Rwanda or Congo with their war funded by those guns have a problem but not South Africans so like people should stick to reality because this so called perfect world in your mind isn't real and never will be

  • @stubones
    @stubones Před 2 hodinami

    Every single country on earth with Special forces have operations like this. You're over thinking this massively. The SAS have/had a unit called the Increment that was specialised in assasinations and rendition, the US special forces and CIA do it regularly, so the Russians. Its not new, its not meant to be public knowledge, it just happens and it will continue to happen. BTW these Special forces are not Recces and not known as Recces. The Recces were disbanded decades ago. This is a reorganised, unit not is not the RECCES.

Of Defence's Health Dept. where our brown DOD members are mostly abuse by the system e.g. Standby weekends and only gets paid when they are called-out with no call-out allowance and when they can't even go out that weekend. Especially in Langebaan-weg Sickbay/hospital. In Saldanha-Navy /Military Academy base they build a Hugh Sickbay that is standing like a White Elephant unused for nearly most of a year. Investigate please.
