  • Starting a farm vlog is here to help others who want to start a farm too. Building bale spikes for our 1981 Allis Chalmers 7045 after I broke them lifting logs that were too heavy for the thin metal I used to build them out of originally. Buying a set isn't an option since these tractors are so old their loaders didn't have any options other than the bucket and maybe some universal forks. Also the amount you would spend on a universal set of hay forks you can build your own far cheaper, stronger, and use the saved money to make your build easier.

I found for marking steel a markal silverstreak is the way to go. I have tried them all and the most visible. Thanks for sharing.

I'm gonna try that, I like the wax pens I've been using but if the metal is hot the wax melts off

Things happen. Just had to replace the PTO shaft on the brush hog due to having it lifted wrong while going thru a gate(oops) my rear hay spikes were made for me with a ball on top to pull a trailer around, which I love. Your new ones look strong enough to lift a house. Well done

So glad you're enjoying the channel I enjoy hearing the stories from others who have similar situations. if you have any friends that are interested in farming videos please share the video with them too! By the way hope the PTO shaft wasn't too much of a trouble to fix. There's just something special about building things yourself and knowing that you are able to 😁

Careful setting you phone down like that when welding! Hot bb’s will land on your screen and mess it all up! Been there done that “union Ironworker”

Nope, it is safe for you to watch when it is recorded through a camera. Good question though.
