  • DIY: Making a Filipiniana dress for a client Long Filipiniana Terno Dress
Hello CZcams sewing friends, today I will show you how I made this gorgeous Filipiniana dress for a client. This was my very first time to sew a made to order dress for a client. I was nervous since there was no actual measurement and no fitting it was all thru messenger chat. The dress turned out so perfect and the client was happy with it. This is by far the most tallest dress I have ever made. I also made a detachable sleeves so it will be easy to store the dress. I used cotton shell fabric for this since that it what the client wanted. I finished this dress in three days.
Day 1: Pattern drafting while I wait for the fabrics to arrive.
Day 2: I started constructing the dress.
Day 3: Adding invisible zipper, hemming and creating the Filipiniana sleeves.
Day 4: Sent it to the client!
Materials: 4 yards of cotton fabrics
    4 yards of lining
    1 invisible zipper (22 inches)
    1/2 yard heavy duty interfacing

They are secured by good old safety pins. Placed on the shoulders, sides and armpit seam.
