  • Hey everyone, as you know, May is the month of Flores de Mayo in the Philippines, and in honor of this tradition, I'll be showing you how to create your own Terno or Butterfly, or Filipiniana sleeves in two different ways.
    The Terno sleeve is a modern version of the bell-shaped sleeve from the original Filipiniana, which is called Traje De Mestiza. But don't worry, I'll cover that in more detail in our next tutorial.
    Dating back to the 1800s, the Terno sleeve has a rich history in Philippine fashion, becoming a staple garment not only as a national costume but also for fashionable women in my country and around the world. So let's get started!

    How do you know how much measurement you have to take from the arc like you took 11/8 inch on the arc. How do you decide that and why did you take 3 inches from the upper arc?

    • @LAMODÉLISTE
      @LAMODÉLISTE  Před rokem

      Please TIMESTAMP your question thanks

    • @LAMODÉLISTE
      @LAMODÉLISTE  Před rokem +1

      I think this is your question. 13:08, take a measurement from the 6/8 in mark at the fold line until the half way mark. Divide that by 7, and mark. You can only figure it out if you do the pattern from you own armhole measurement, whatever I am demonstrating comes from my own measurements. As I’ve said the 1 1/8 in is FROM MY OWN MEASUREMENTS, so better use your own. The 3 inches is the height of the extension of the crown. Or the height of the Terno, You can use 2 6/8, 2 4/8 but 3 inches is always the best option when making this kind of sleeve.
