    How to use HDR PQ enabled such that you get 10 bit colors, but convert it to SDR Rec.709 in editing tool (davinci for example) by preserving those 10 bit colors to edit with ?

    • @reyesproductionDK
      @reyesproductionDK  Před 5 měsíci

      Maybe i don't understand your question.. :| I am not converting it to anything. I just use the h.265 file and edit it Davinci.
      I use ColorSpaceTransform to convert my footage to DavinciWideGamut, but that's colorspace. Just to have the largest colorspace you can get to work with.

    i have r50 and it has hdrpq only, but when i try to export footage into Davinci, there is only audio for some reason, do you know how to fix that?

    • @reyesproductionDK
      @reyesproductionDK  Před 6 měsíci +4

      It is because you use the free version of Davinci. Unfortunately you need the paid version to import that footage. Because HDR pq generate h.265 10 bit footage.
      But you can edit only 8 bit in free.
      I saw some video about that people convert the footage so they can open. Try to search on It like”how to load 10 bit in Davinci”

    • @reyesproductionDK
      @reyesproductionDK  Před 6 měsíci +1

      But If you don’t want to have 10 bit, just disable the HDR pq mode and you’ll get 4:2:0 8 bit and easily can be imported in Davinci

    • @mupinzon1082
      @mupinzon1082 Před 10 dny +1

      Hi, there's another way to use that 10bits footage and it its by transcoding your hdr pq footage into apple pro res or dnxhr/hqx you can use shutter encoder for that, then you basically follow the same steps in the video.😬
      What happens is that as far as i understand, windows does not support the codec h265 hvec 10 bits and the free version of davinci neither because of windows.

    Also, can you explain why you generating this proxy media?

    • @reyesproductionDK
      @reyesproductionDK  Před 6 měsíci

      The short answer is: because the 10 bit h265 file is not good for editing. It’s heavy for the editing software. I have the RTX3050 gpu and 16gb ram, sometimes the timeline is laggy. But If you generate the proxy, you can Edit sooo smoothly. Without any lag. And It can speed up your work I will make a video to show you the before after, and why I use It 🤝

    HDR PQ you can watch it on monitors and TVs where there is none HDR?

    • @reyesproductionDK
      @reyesproductionDK  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Yes. Well, in this case i use HDR PQ to get 10 bit colors to edit.
      Even though i have no HDR capable monitor, you can edit and see the footage.
      Of course it's not "HDR" on your regular screen but the DATA in the video is there. So for example if you want to colorgrade, you have 1 billion color instead of 16 million. So basically you just got more space to work with. If you understand me.

      However a6400 has LOG and the R10 dont, the Sony only record in 8bit!
      With the R10 you can use the HDR PQ mode and record in 10 bit. It means you have 1 billion colors over 16million (8bit)
      But I recommend not to buy one or the other because you want to colorgrade. You can colorgrade even an iPhone footage too.
