- Join us at The Heights Of Abraham as we embark on an absolutely amazing cable car adventure on the edge of the Peak District National Park.
We arrive in Matlock Bath, Derbyshire to board a cable car to take us soaring high over the town below and up the hillside but for those of us afraid of heights its nothing short of terrifying. After taking in the spectacular views and enjoying the ride (at least some of us did) we arrive at The Heights Of Abraham.
We fuel ourselves for the day with breakfast in the Vista restaurant and admire the stunning views before we start to explore this unique hill top park. There is a rich mining history in the area and we stare 120 foot down in to an old mine shaft before we make the hike further up the hill to discover the Tinkers Shaft.
As we head back towards the cable car station we discover Victoria Prospect Tower, a Victorian tourist attraction that we can't resist climbing for some absolutely amazing views. Then its all downhill, a steep one, as we pass by more Victorian installations before reaching our first cave tour in the Rutland Cavern and learn more about the areas mining history.
Back up the hill further we reach the second and longest cave tour and this one is physically demanding too with almost 200 steps to climb. We take a guided tour through the Masson cavern discovering more about the geology and trying our best not to hit our heads or slip.
With our adventure coming to an end its time to take the cable car back down the hillside to the base station and leave with some truly amazing memories from this unique visitor attraction.

⭐ More About Us ⭐
We're Jason & Josh, welcome to our World. We upload brand new vlogs every day so whatever we get up to you are right there with us.
We love to travel so we are always on days out, road trips around England or exploring our home county of Kent & hopefully one day soon, back on a plane to far away places. We also love a bit of Disney round here so you will often see a bit of the magic sprinkled in to our day.
Whilst we are nearly always on an adventure & living life at a fast pace, we do occasionally take some time to chill and invite you in to our home with Josh's mum Fiona and our 9 cats for an insight in to our daily life.

Superb vid, thanks for sharing.
Amazing views. Thanks for sharing.
Looks like a great place. Hope to visit someday.
Yeah I wouldn’t like those cable cars either haha.
I do love visiting caves.
This looked like a great day out xx
They are fine untill they swing in the wind 😂
I'm with Fiona with that car ride! And I'm also claustrophobic so the caves would also be problematic. I'm a mess!
Hi jason and josh , really enjoying all your visit's i am just catching up as have been away on brittania cruise ship for a week on a staycation. i hope you both have a wonderful cruise on disney magic. The view's from the heights of abraham were truly spectacular thank you for sharing your road trip with us.
Sounds great did you have a great time??
@@JJExtra Thank you so much, yes we did, sorry i took so long to reply, have you all got the cruise bug now? your cruise looked amazing.
Have a look at beamish guys great day out
Definitely on our list we’ve recently said about going here 😜
It was very informative video. You have filmed almost every details. Just a quick question. Which camera have you used inside the cave? Did you have a flash light with it? Did you have a guide to take you through the Cave? Was there any ticket to purchase to visit it? The views are really spectacular. I have a plan to visit this place this summer.
Hiya. I feel I have been wrong footed regarding your trip as we have been away for this past week to the Cotswolds, where we had glorious weather every day and an amazing time. I would have felt just like Fiona with the cable car and height, but it's a means to an end. So your trip looked another splendiferous one. I am catching up on the washing yuk, and will be catching up with what you have all been up to and where you have been over this weekend. Oh when I saw the cows grazing I thought "wow they are up high", DOH!!!!!! I would say I am jet lagged but don't think you would accept that excuse???
Hope you had an amazing time in The Cotswolds, so beautiful down there! Still loads more to come from the road trip 💙
@@JJExtra Yes we did, all those pretty villages, thatched roofs, beautiful. However I came home with a dreadful virus and have felt crap since which takes the shine off the holiday. Had a negative PCR test, thank goodness.
Love the cable cars and the views were absolutely amazing. Felt bad for Fiona with the heights. There is not enough valium in the UK to get me down in those tunnels of death - hahaha. How many times did Josh bonk his head on the ceiling? DId Jason pick all of these sites out himself or was it a collabrative effort. Either way, what an amazing journey - Be Safe and Be Well
Haha don’t worry you can just live the caves through the vlogs 😂 Josh bonked his head too many times 😜
Poor Fiona - she did not look not impressed with that cable car ride. I love how she always gives things a go though. The caves looked awesome.
She certainly puts herself through it and somehow I (Jason) always seem to get the blame 🤷🏻♂️
Fellas, I'm enjoying your road trip vids; however, I'm wondering if the UK run out of adjectives. 47% of your trip vid thumbnails so fare are "ultimate". Variety, my friends, is the spice of life.
Hi Harry and thanks for the feedback.
