I built a 350 AR with a 18" Mos-Tek SS barrel, and that Federal Non Typical shoots light out. I got the same results and I did 5rd groups. Took a nice 9tp opening day and 2 nice does over the next 6 days. All 50yd kills. All DRT. Doe's in the head, buck in the neck just below his white spot head on. I tried the Hornady on paper, it was close to the Federal. The 180 Winchester on paper was not so good. 2 9pts last year, and the 3 this year. 6 shots. One 90yd last year. the rest were the normal for my spot at 40, 45yds. I live the a straight wall rifle / shotgun zone 3 of Michigan.

So, I do like your reviews, you seem to have much more sense then some of the fellows making reviews.
In regards to the 350 legend. Most all the ammunition manufacturers are loading 350 legend so customers can shoot the ammunition thru AR15 platforms. That creates a restriction of the 350 legend cartridge overall length-COL at 2.260" max.
or even less at 2.240". And this puts the most of the c150 to 180 gr bullets o-jive right at the case mouth.
What I found out with my Mossberg Patroit with 22" barrel is this. The factory barrel chamber throat and clip actually accommodate a COL of 2.360" right at rifling lands, so -0.020" puts a 170 gr Hornady Interlock-SP bullet at a COL of 2.340"
And this load shots 1/2" MOA 100 yard 3 shot groups every time. So most of the ammunition marketed is not loaded at a premium COL for the bolt actions but for AR15 platforms. Ammuntion load at the 2.240" COL creates a 0.120" bullet jump to rifling lands creating poor accuracy. loat the bullets o-jive to within 0.020" short of the rifling lands and accuracy gets super impressive. And one needs to be capable of shooting the sub-MOA at 100 yards to consistently shot 1-1/2" groups at 200-250 yards. The 350 legend is a very accurate caliber in the bolt actions if the ammunition accommodates the rifles COL properly for whatever the manufacturer machined the chamber/throat length. Unfortunately, the market ammo is tailored to function thru AR15 platforms leaving the more precision longer throat bolt actions suffer accuracy.

Looks to me like the gun is sighted in with a 180 grain round. All of the rounds at 180 grain performed very well. I just purchased a Ruger American Go Wild Camo 350 Legend with a 22 inch barrel, the extra barrel length provides more velocity at the muzzle with a 150gr round averaging about 2450fps. I also have a Savage Axis 350 Legend with an 16-3/8 inch barrel and I am grouping less than 1 inch and even hitting the same holes with the Winchester 150gr XP loads. I killed 5 deer with that rifle last year, and lost a really nice buck... losing the buck was all on me, not the gun. I purchased the Ruger for an Iowa Whitetail trip next year. I have seen it is pretty accurate out to 300yds. I have killed a doe at 125yds with my Savage axis 350 legend, it was very easy, and hit her exactly where I aimed...

I’ve not yet tried the federal non typical, but I’ve shot a lot of federal fusion in my rifles. It has been very accurate and dependable, it’s my go-to. From 243 to 3006 it’s been consistent.
I kind of stumbled on it. I was given a box of federal promo Ammo, can’t remember the name , but it was one off those tv shows a couple years back. It was super accurate out of my 06 @165gr. When I tried to get more I found they quit marketing it.
Then found out on the net the fusion was the same stuff with out the promo box.
Now I see this non typical and I’ve gotta try some. If it kills as good as it shoots, and shoot as good as the fusion I’ll be very pleased.

Wow, You and Paul did a helluva job! Now this was a very informative and interesting video. From what I've seen here and from other YT videos, the 350L seems to be a pretty accurate round. The good part of having a 350L, the ammo is plentiful, apparently not a lot of people are stocking up on it as it's one of the few calibers my local sporting goods shops seem to have a lot of. I want to buy a 350L, but I just put a deposit down for a 50 BMG so I'll need to pay that off first and buy ammo for it here and there since it's a pricey round to shoot. Not to mention my old lady would get her panties in a twist if I bought another gun after spending all those Benjamin's on a 50 cal, lol.

Excellent test. I have done this same test with so many different calibers and guns im not going to begin to bore you. But i have found Hornady and yep, Federal, to be the most consistent performing ammo out of a for real sh$t ton of different brands. Including many foreign ammo makers. Thank Who Tee Who! See ya next vid.

Definitely love this video... I don't reload so I did basically the same test. I left out the suppressed and the Browning 124 grain though.
My Savage Axis ii stainless steel prefers Federal 180 grain and Browning 155 grain. The rest were an inch and a half with exception of Winchester 145 grain. They were the worst... but I'm sure they changed how they're manufacturing them by now. ( It was February when I got them and had four miss fires out of 2 boxes )

Really wish I wouldn’t have traded my 350 legend upper. I built it when it first came out but I only had it for a couple months when I was offered a deal I couldn’t pass up. The only ammo I had at the time was the Winchester 145gn fmj Winchester xp 150gn and hornady 170gn white tail. That 150xp was going to be my hunting load

If you are gonna go slow, go bigger and heavier. Do that with 450 BM and some bullets designed for pistols so will expand easier or download a 12 ga slug at an ounce and a half at about 950 fps and listen to the this hit the deer, hehe.

If you're going to attempt 1000 yards , I would go with the 124gr at 2500 fps. It grouped well enough and you will need all the velocity you can get. Remember advertised velocities are probably from a 24 inch barrel.

    Ballistic gel the ammo 😃👍
Great shooting. That looks like an awesome little rifle. Probably quieter than many other deer hunting cartridges out of a 16" barrel (?). Looks like you were getting similar performance to a 30-30 with a 4" shorter barrel in another video... Subsonic ammo is available. Threaded for a suppressor. I like it 👍
