Such a haunting sight Matt, and the music you picked to go with this explore really envokes such sadness of an era that is being lost. It's such a shame that a historic place like this is just being left to be claimed by the environment
It don't get much better than this, a walk by the ocean, fresh salt air,and thwarting seven yankers! I drank it all up over the pond in Battle Creek, Michigan!Top form lads!
A few months ago North Somerset Council have bought the Peir and are spending £80,000 on renovating it and bringing it back to its former state and it should be done by 2025,whether they do or not is to be seen ,but it is a shame the Peir has been left to rot ,got some really good memories of playing the penny arcade also My Brothers Band were the last Band to play live there back in the mid 80's ,Cheers for this tho.

Thank you gents for the excellent video. I've been visiting birnbeck pier for many years. Always wondered what the far end looked like nowadays. Now you've answered my question. My mum used to push me down their in my push chair as a baby. Always loved this place.

There was an episode of saving lives at sea on BBC2 where a couple got caught out by the tide on birnbeck Island and had to be saved by the rnli , they were seconds away from drowning very lucky people !

Your brave walking across that dodgy pier it looked like it could snap at any moment. Great explore through really enjoyed it.
Sad to see this piece of history just crumbling away. Another great explore from you and Gav with some excellent drone footage. The tides are very high at the moment with a 13.7metre rise and fall yesterday recorded just up stream at Avonmouth. Stay safe, keep exploring.

Always wondered what it was like on there like others I guess looked from the other pier across thinking what a waste shame for it to be left like that
A school Friend of mine was 1 of the unfortunate ones with the Barry tide a few years ago
Looking at the man who owns it and what was a hotel behind it that mysteriously burnt then he had plans for apartments !!I don't think it will be restored anytime soon
He sold the pier to the council them and RNLI lifeboats are gonna referb it

There's a video on CZcams called One Foot in the Past from 1996 and it shows the buildings in a far better state, complete with roofs and organ! Worth a look.
When the thieves realised the police were waiting for them they threw the clock in the sea. The tides are savage round weston (smack town), they catch many people out, i like brean down fort not masses there some good history to the place.
So many people these days think they have a right to tell you what to do…sad. I’m glad you press on Matt!

Anyone got any idea if they will ever fix this place up? I remember seeing it exactly like this as a kid 30 years ago. Shame to see it waste like this, but guess most would rather go abroad
Found an article saying North Somerset Council and the RNLI have formally agreed to work together to renovate Birnbeck Pier, bringing vital lifesaving work back onto the island and allowing the public access to the Victorian pier once again. November 2021
Know what they´re saying, we wan´t get any younger. The bridge seems like it had it, a bit more since last time. House is what they say in the ads, an opportunity for the handy man. Open and specie design.
It was on the news that work will begin in a few weeks time. We shall see if it does.
I thought Birnbeck Pier was bought out under a CPO last year and its still being left derelict unbeleivable and so sad too see a piece of history left abandoned
Me and a few friends walked out there once for a explore and smoke we beat the tide it is possible i know from past experience lol
It's amazing that the lifeboat station hasn't been touched still immaculate on the outside
