I absolutely love how you just jump straight into your videos without any wishy washy in the beginning. Haha but you clearly haven't seen the state of my home to think that most of these things could be done in five or eight minutes. My husband is a neat nick and has always requested everything be emptied out of the car every time. It’s just one of those habits when once you start, it becomes routine. People get into my vehicle and think it looks spotless and that’s just because there’s no mess and no junk. It takes a bit of getting used to to not be lazy in the very moment when you want to leave it all there! I’m always grateful to have cleared it the next time I go to the car.
Same! Once I got into the habit it was so easy to keep as a habit and I feel the same way, always happy it's clean-ish
I am often stunned at how little time tasks take (when you break them down) so this is a great video to explain that!

I don't have small children anymore so it's a bit easier to keep my car clean. However I have a husband that's like having 3 kids & I can tell EVERY time he's used it.

Good ideas! The "stairs" lol. Brought back memories of my childhood, we'd walk right past all the piles on the stairs as kids. My Dad would bring it all up and pile it in the middle of my sister and my bedroom floor. Thanks for sharing!

I did my kitchen junk drawer today, and I felt accomplished after. Maybe 7 minutes at most. I feel attacked over the stairs 😂, it's my Achilles heel.. love this video.
I started a mantra of “no wasted trips.” That means if I’m going upstairs, something that needs to go up (and has usually been placed on the stairs) must go up with me. The same for going downstairs, although there’s usually more to go up than down.
Not many of those would take me just 5 minutes, but I certainly get what you’re saying…it doesn’t take near as long as you think, so just DO IT!! Great video, you are a joy to watch!!

I always watch your videos, and I'm like " I don't need to watch this , I know how to declutter..." and then I learn a new hack
I've def been trying to do the clothes declutter consistently. I now have a textile recycling and donate bag in my closet and just pop crap in there weekly/monthly. And I'm rewarding my discipline with new clothes 😂 To be fair MOST of my clothes are circa 2002.
As for the junk drawer, I now call it the utility drawer. I have decluttered it often enough that I use a lot of the stuff that I have in and review it weekly. Great video - I had already decided to go through my jewelry, so now I will do it!

There are somany good things to say here I don't know where to begin. Except maybe your son can teach us all how to organize our shoes. It look like he does a good job. I dont know how to organize my medicine chest because it's arranged for my husband who died 6 years ago. This is a project to accomplish.
I no longer have a JUNK drawer. We only have what is essential in that drawer. If an item doesn't serve a purpose, then it's out of there! Does it get messy? Sometimes it does since there are multiple people in my household. That's when you have ruthlessly clean it out!

I'm on board with the 5-10 min cleanup spots, so easy! how do you get your teen and your man-child to get on board ? Every time I go into a room I do the pack 'n' dash or wash dishes while I"m cooking, I even clean the bathroom counter every time in the loo. Tips/tricks on getting anyone else to contribute. motivations for that?
I would love tips on this also!! I have a neuro divergent child and a lazy-ish husband. I practically have to throw a tantrum myself to get help w house work. 6months ago, I flat out told them I WONT continue doing it all myself. Since then the house has only been clean-ish. I am about to admit defeat and go back to doing 90% of myself again just bc it not being fully clean is almost as stressful as having to do it myself.

Thanks for another great video :-) as far as cleaning the car goes - I always had a rule when we got out of the car everybody carried as much as they could. If all four of my kids were in the car, that was five of us and we could carry a lot. Even little ones can carry some of their things in :-) as a sidenote… I know that you’re probably used to recording for shorts or TikTok’s. Sometimes it’s hard to follow you on CZcams because you’re talking so fast. If you could slow down a little, that would be great :-)

My kitchen island is always a mess. I would love to have a clean uncluttered kitchen island, but mine never stays cleared off. We have our fruit bowl, our Google Home Max, a small lazy Susan with assorted nuts (almonds, cashews), a box of tissues and a bamboo cutting board that are used all the time. Then there’s a lot of other stuff that just accumulates on the island. Our island is very large, about 5’x7’, I just wish it would stay clean for more than a day 😂
