    Awesome video, My Electronic Throttle is making exactly the sound at 4:56 in your video on ignition on. Is this bad throttle or bad ECU? Can you please point me in the direction to figure out?

    Great, thanks. What is the Bosch, Siemens ECU driver frequency for throttle body and VVt solenoids?

    • @ADPTraining

      About 25 KHz. Our unit follows exactly those parameters. www.autodiagnosticsandpublishing.com/etc_electrothrottle_electronic_throttle_tester.html

    Nice presentation.
    I was wondering if this issue could be picked up on a lab scope and what sort of pattern I would look for to determine if the resonance frequency was coming from the PCM driver or if it was the ETB itself

    • @ADPTraining
      @ADPTraining  Před 6 lety +3

      That is a nice argument, I do have a database of faulty unit waveforms and a few defective ETB to choose from. Maybe I'll do a video on it, as to how the vibrating winning transfers to the waveform. When developing the Electrothrottle Actuator 2 years ago, I remember seeing that the ground shifted slightly from 0.00v as it was happening. I have to do more research and document this. Thanks for viewing and sharing, Mandy.

    very interesting info. Note the PWM directly drives a DC Motor so high frequencies carrier above 20kHz are not effective with the motor magnetic core

    It is possible that faulty throttle in diesel engine can demage dual mass fly wheel? I mean situation when the throttle doesn't close completly while turning off engine causing shivering of the engine.

    • @ADPTraining
      @ADPTraining  Před 5 lety +2

      Meaning engine shaking? Probably not, as Diesels are tough cookies. But, flywheel can become loose due to shaking...

    I have a 2008 Nissan 350Z that was making this resonant humming noise when you would put the key to ON position ( like what you show in this video on the test bench) . I thought throttle body was bad so I replaced the one with this symptom (car has dual throttle bodies) and after I replaced it the buzzing was there, but then it went away for a while and now its back again. If it's the ECM as you say doing it, then why would the problem be intermittent and coming and going. Also can the vehicles entire electrical system be responsible for this? Example is the load on the electrical system from say a larger CCA battery than the ECM was designed around? I ask because my car has a larger CCA battery that was used for a subwoofer system, it's a Optima large battery , red top and its seems to have more amps than a regular sized battery for this engine. Let me know your thoughts on this and what I should do next thank you!

    • @ADPTraining
      @ADPTraining  Před 11 měsíci

      First a larger battery in principle shouldn't be a problem.
      Second, newer cars are more susceptible to battery changes, yours is not.
      Third, look into EMI from the alternator, ignition, etc. Also make sure all grounds are correct.
      That's a lot of testing, but it's my five cents.

    • @Runescape.
      @Runescape. Před 11 měsíci

      @@ADPTraining Thank you for the reply, the humming noise went away again, its intermittent it seems like, or maybe the car learned the programming of the sensor so now it isn't trying to shut an already shut throttle body. the noise it was making before sounded like the motor was trying to force the butterfly closed but it was already at closed position. im not sure but the sound has gone away again, i think maybe it did a relearn or something from turning the ignition from off to on repeatedly.

      Resonant frequency has nothing to do with your problem. There's an APP to Throttle correlation problem. Use my ELECTROTHROTTLE tool to test the throttle, then go from there. Here it is... www.autodiagnosticsandpublishing.com/DealsToday.html

    On my 2006 dodge ram. App.2. Waveform shows voltage drop But is this normal ?
    When i press the gas pedal the fuel pressure drops 30 psi. And its a new fuel pump. Is this voltage drop has to do something with this fuel pressure drops ?

      Ok, App 2 drops voltage where? The reference voltage or the signal. Also, fuel pump pressure should no be related to App sensor, unless there's a short.

      All these Electronic Throttle testers i have seen dont seem to be able to test at part throttle. They just seem to change the sweep rate. It would be nice to be able to hold the throttle plate at a certain position accurately and then check to see if the butterfly is vibrating there and monitor the tps sensors on a scope.
