  • How to pull a bosch Electronic throttle body to pieces, if you need to repair or modify one.
I'm doing mine so I can weld a tube connector to the end to take a silicone intercooler coupler.

    Bloody legend, thanks.
Did it have any grease or lubrication inside?
I found that with mine for the small throttle opening spring the silver spring sandwiched between the two plastic parts) There was no lubrication and the spring was binding against the plastic so the small throttle openings (i.e idle control) was not consistent and was impossible to tune to get stable idle. I pulled the whole thing apart and lubed it with lanolin grease (at first I tried just squirting silicone spray in there but it didnt help)
That fixed the problem. Bosch sucks.

    Excellent! Thanks!
Did you happen to get the shaft diameter?

After being there I could only say: DO NOT DO IT! DO NOT DISASSEMBLY that throttle body. Why? Because for 90% you will ruin it. I have cheap spare one so I opened it. First: that cup on end of the shaft. Drill smal hole on CENTER of that metal plug. When put small wood screw. Maybe you will have luck and remove that plug without ruin it. It is stainless steel plug, not aluminium. Second: after remove measure with caliper how deep shaft sit in bearing. When you will assebmbe it you will hnow how deep shaft must go. Third: for 90% you will ruin that 4 tracę springs they are for 2 tps sensor reading. That is main reason why NEVER do that. Before remove shaft make good pictures by your phone, will be very usefull when you will try assembler that thing. Four: prepare for hard hammering that shaft to disassembly it. Five: screw throttle body plate on full close position. So press with your fingers that plate to full close position. When not closed with your fingers there is some gap and you could assembly it wrong. Six: after assembly try full open and close throttle body plate several times. If any jaming when full open or full close- reposition throttle body plate. THAT IS SECOND main REASON NOT TOUCH THAT THTOTTLE BODY. LAST THING YOU WANT IS JAM ON FULL CLOSED OR ON FUUL OPEN POSITION☠️🪓. HAVE RESPECT FOR YOUR LIFE: DO NOT OPEN THAT SHIT💀. NEVER. THERE IS NO WORHT DOING THAT. Btw: In each time black cover is removed that 4 little tps springs only waiting for touch them. When touch - they start dessintegration. How good they will slide on tracks later? WHO KNOWS☠️☠️☠️. So end lesson: DO NOT OPEN BOSCH THROTTLE BODY🪓🪓🪓. BUY NEW ONE👌👍

Took mine apart for cleaning but didn't touch the flap nor dared to dissamble besides the middle gear. However, I was curious about the DC motor after removing the 2 torx screws.
Were you able to record that part and have a view at the innards?
