      Y estoy indeciso si comprar un Ceriatone jubilee o Ceriatone chupacabras, ya que tienen un gran tono y su construcción es asombrosa, o ir por un original Marshall jubilee reissue.

      Have them all. Master needs to be set at 7 minimum to hear the Marshall roar guys… then it is a game changer, sort of completely different amp meaning more bass, more gain and saturation.The sound becomes a Marshall sound that way!

I also play a Tele and an SG and the settings don't really have to be moved around

    Can't resist the classic roar of the 800, that's just THE Marshall tone of the 80s for me 🤟 Beautiful cleans as well! 900 second IMO. The Jubilee albeit a great and versatile amp is not exactly my cup of tea among these three. Thanks for the settings used and killer tones and chops as usual 👍

    • @RockG.o.d
      @RockG.o.d Před rokem +1

      to me, they all sound almost equal. Though for clean, I lean more towards the 900, and dirt tones either jcm 800 or 900. (when they working properly). I believe that's the jcm 900 with el34s. mine came with 5881 tubes, but I modded it to take the el34s, though tbh I didn't really notice a difference. there was probably a slight difference, but because I didn't record it before and after, I didn't have some ab test to do. I thought I would have been able to tell. Did change it back when the el34s went a few years later.

I know other videos exist for these on this channel, but maybe a comparison of all three of the 20 watt/5 watt heads for the 800, Jubilee, and Plexi "against" their 100 watt counterpart might be fun :)

I know about the EL-34 sound…have played plenty. Still like the different flavor the 6550’s have in this particular amp is pretty cool. I like running a couple amps sometimes…my Orange plays into the mix easily. My all time favorite Marshall tones are the 1987 and 1959 4 prongers. There’s just something about those amps. You can not have a clean channel and dirty channel since it only has 1 gain and 1 master gain. You can go from loud dirty to quiet dirty but not dirty
    to clean. I never play clean so it doesn't matter much to me. I have replaced the JCM to a new EVH Iconic as my workhorse. It does it all but I still keep

      The G12T-75 is a great fit for Marshall amps, as it was designed to handle distortion and harmonics really well, as opposed to a Vintage 30, which makes Marshalls sound like fizz. As before, it sounded thin and fizzy, even with mids on 10 and treble on 2. Given its treble emphasis, the Vintage 30 also renders string noise much more then the G12T-75. In comparison to the Vintage 30, the G12T-75 is such a calm sounding speaker.

    The 2555X Silver Jubilee sounds a bit boxy, the JCM900 a bit thin, the JCM800, just right.

    Like the JCM 800 the best. But in the segment for clean tone the graphic has preamp on 10. Pretty sure it isn’t on 10 especially with MV higher than the dirty segment. 😅

      The guitar is connected to the low sensitivity channel, is has a dramatic volume drop vs high sensitivity. So it’s not surprise it is dimed.

    I've got the 2558 Jubilee combo from 1987. It's great but I'm not a fan of the speakers, anyone got any suggestions on speakers that will be a bit smoother sounding? The original Marshall Vintage speakers are a bit snarky in the upper mids and not in a good way!

    Slightly off topic even though it could do high gain, my favourite is DSL2000 50W even though I never owned one. My brother had a 50w JCM800 combo and I always thought lead channel was fizzy, I'd also bought a 70's 100W master volume 2nd hand for £35 in the 90's and I thought it was fizzy. I'm an old classic rocker and absolutely loved my DSL401 40W combo, I'm a big fan of small bottle output valves like EL84 (especially in a Vox AC30) instead of EL34 and 6V6 I had in a 78 Princeton combo instead of 6L6. I'm also a fan of the KT series but for hi fi not guitar amps.

      @@vox1966 the original Marshall's exported to the US used KT's (88's I think) as part of the deal but were initially hated by American guitarists as they didn't sound like British one's but when metal really came to the fore they were loved for their headroom before distorting, that's why I call them hi fi valves. I'm amazed at what Hiwatt managed to do with EL34's in their amps, just listen to a certain Mr Gilmour and that sounds almost hi fi. you also have Marshall's step brother Park and I always wanted one, never played one, because they were a completely different take on the rock amp. makes me feel young talking about these things.

    I think the 800 was just perfect. Not sure what people are on about needing more gain? Maybe people don't like clarity? The Jube had the least clarity. The 800 would stand out in a mix better than the Jube and 900. Guess I am not a fan of clipping diodes either. No pedals and straight into an 800 works for me.

    • @chrismitchell523
      @chrismitchell523 Před rokem

      Jens Kruse has a killer Jube mod. I have one of those and a Friedman "kitchen sinked" 2203 and while the 2203 is "better," it's more "different" than better for most applications. We run them stereo for double tracked rhythm guitars and it's about perfect.

    Cool video , nice playing also. I’ve got a ‘90 900 4100 that I bought new in ‘90..’13 800 2203x (effects loop is sketchy at best-keep it in bypass mode)..’80 JMP 2203 with 6550 tubes. Each one has its own voice with the JMP leading the pack. The clean headroom in each one is outstanding. The 900’s reverb is average on a good day and the effects loop is best kept jumped , it is better than the 800’s. The simplicity of the 800 and the JMP is easy to work with. The looks of the JMP can’t be beat-timeless and classic.
